The team Soaked

The Motivational Dip

The staff of the Greenvale Sports Centre had seen their fair share of unusual team-building exercises, but nothing could have prepared them for this.

The email had been cryptic: "Tomorrow’s meeting: Bring your enthusiasm. And maybe a change of clothes." No one had taken it seriously. They arrived to find Susan standing in the meeting room, immaculate in her tailored business suit, heels reflecting the sterile ceiling lights. As they prepared to sit down Susan interrupted them, "Don't get comfortable ladies, we're not holding the meeting here. Follow me."

Susan set off for the "Aqua Fitness" area, with her bemused team following nervously behind. The fluorescent lights hum overhead, illuminating the indoor pool, a sign "closed for private function" blocking the entrance. The air is thick with the sharp scent of chlorine and the faint echo of dripping water. Susan walks to the edge of the pool, her heels clicking against the tiles, and turns to survey her team.

The team lined up along the poolside, looking worried, unsure of where this was leading. Jessica, the lifeguard, in her standard-issue red polo shirt and black shorts, her sun-bleached hair tied back in a messy ponytail, had a reputation for being unflappable, but even she fidgeted as Susan’s gaze swept over them.

Next to Jessica, Emily, the receptionist, stood rigid, her light-yellow blouse tucked neatly into her knee-length grey pencil skirt. She clutched a clipboard to her chest like a shield, her fingers tightening as Susan’s silence stretched on.

"You won't need that Emily," said Susan taking it and placing it aside.

Claire, the fitness instructor, crossed her arms over her loose-fitting green tunic, her black leggings already showing the faintest sheen of sweat from her earlier class. She caught Jessica’s eye and rolled hers.

"If she makes us do trust falls again, I’m out of here."

Sophie, the café manager, leaned casually against one of the poolside pillars, her white button-down shirt untucked from her dark jeans. She was the picture of nonchalance, but her fingers drummed lightly against her thigh, thinking "Okay, Susan, what’s the play here?"

Susan introduces the session

Susan finally stopped pacing. She turned to face them, her expression unreadable. "Ladies," she announces, her voice dripping with false sweetness, "we are going to immerse ourselves in motivation today. Literally," her voice smooth but carrying an edge of steel, "productivity has been slipping. I’ve decided we need a fresh approach. Today’s meeting will take place in the pool…"

Silence. The only sound was the distant hum of the pool’s filtration system.

"…fully clothed."

Emily, regarding her smart skirt and blouse, blurted out, "Your joking, my clothes will be ruined". Susan’s smirk told her otherwise.

Claire let out a bark of laughter. "You’re serious?"

"Deadly," Susan replied, standing at the top of the steps leading into the shallow end. The water lapped invitingly. "After you, ladies."

Emily stared at the pool as if it were a pit of snakes.

"My skirt. My skirt. It’s going to be ruined, and my shoes, these are my favourite heels!"

Jess stood at the back of the group, arms crossed, her expression carefully schooled into one of reluctant compliance. But inside, her pulse raced. She’d always had a thing for wet clothes, maybe it was why she'd chosen to be a lifeguard. She loved the way material transformed as it got wet, how it clung to her figure, the tingle as it soaked into her underwear.

She found herself wishing that she gone to the meeting in her normal clothes rather than changing into ther uniform first, but all wasn't lost, she had a front row seat to see her colleagues get soaked, and was especially looking forward to seeing Emily to go swimming in her smart skirt and blouse. Her heart was thumping as she watched Emily take those first hesitant steps into the pool.

"Oh, this is going to be good."

Emily goes first

Emily’s heels hit the water first, the sharp points sinking slightly into the rubber mat of the pool steps. Jess watched, transfixed, as the water seeped into the black pumps, darkening the leather. Emily hesitated, her toes curling as if she could somehow delay the inevitable. But the water was relentless. It crept higher, swallowing the heels, then the delicate stockings that encased Emily’s calves. The nylon darkened, clinging to her skin, the sheerness of the material betraying the shape of her legs.

Jess bit her lip, her fingers tightening around her own arms. "Come on, Emily. Just a little deeper."

Emily let out a shaky breath and descended another step. The water reached the hem of her gray pencil skirt, the fabric immediately darkening as it absorbed the moisture. The skirt, once crisp and professional, now clung to Emily’s thighs, the damp material outlining the shape of her legs. Jess could see Emily’s fingers twitching at her sides, her nails digging into her palms as she fought to keep her expression neutral.

But it was the thought of what was happening underneath that skirt that sent a thrill through Jess. She imagined the water seeping into Emily’s panties, the fabric growing damp, then soaked, clinging to her in ways that were meant to be private. The idea of Emily standing there, her underwear plastered against her skin, hidden only by that thin, wet skirt, made Jess’s stomach flip.

Emily took another step, and the water rose to her waist. The gray skirt was now a second skin, the damp fabric revealing every curve, every line. Jess could see the tension in Emily’s shoulders, the way her breath hitched as the cold water lapped at her stomach. She’s feeling it now. She knows exactly what’s happening under there.

And then, the blouse. Emily’s light-yellow blouse, once so pristine, was now under siege. The hem darkened first, the water creeping upward, inch by inch. Jess held her breath as the fabric grew heavier, the yellow deepening to a rich amber as it soaked through. Emily’s hands flew up, pressing the blouse against her chest as if she could somehow shield herself from the inevitable. But it was too late.

The water won. The blouse clung to Emily’s torso, the wet material leaving nothing to the imagination. Jess’s eyes locked onto the sight, the outline of Emily’s bra, the lace trim just visible through the translucent fabric, the way the cups moulded to her shape. Emily’s face flushed a deep red, her fingers trembling as she tried, and failed, to adjust the clinging material.

Jess had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from grinning. "This is even better than I imagined." The struggle in Emily’s expression, the way her eyes darted around, desperate for an escape, only made it sweeter. Jess could practically feel the damp fabric against Emily’s skin, the way it must have felt cold and heavy, the way it betrayed every secret curve.

She forced herself to look away, to school her features into something approximating sympathy. But inside, she was savoring every second. "Susan, you absolute genius."

Next up is Claire

Claire was next, she already unbuttoning the sleeves of her tunic, rolling them up with a sigh. "If I’m going in, I’m not going to let it drag me down." She had always prided herself on being practical. She could teach a spin class with a migraine, handle rowdy gym members with a single raised eyebrow, and keep her cool in any crisis. But as the water crept up her leggings, she felt her composure slipping, literally.

The first touch of the pool water was deceptively gentle, a cool caress against her ankles. "Fine. Whatever. It’s just water." But then it climbed higher, seeping into the fabric of her black leggings like ink spreading on paper. The material, usually so snug and supportive, suddenly felt alien, heavy, clinging, intimate. She could feel the water working its way up, threading through the fibers, turning the fabric translucent in patches.

Her green tunic was next. The loose, breathable fabric that usually billowed as she moved now clung to her torso, the hem dragging in the water like a soggy weight. The tunic darkened from emerald to something closer to forest green, the dampness revealing the shape of her sports bra underneath. Fantastic. Just fantastic. She crossed her arms over her chest, as if that could somehow shield her from the indignity of it all.

But the real kicker was when the water hit her underwear. It started as a creeping chill, a slow realization that the moisture had breached the final barrier. The waistband of her black briefs grew damp, then fully soaked, the fabric clinging to her skin with an almost possessive grip. She could feel the water seeping into the elastic, the material growing heavier, colder. "Oh, come on. " It was one thing to have wet clothes, it was another thing entirely to feel her underwear plastered against her, the dampness a constant, unignorable reminder of Susan’s madness.

She exhaled sharply through her nose, her fingers curling into fists at her sides. She shot a glance at Susan, standing by the edge of the pool smiling. For a second, Claire considered rebellion, storming out, refusing to play along. But then she caught Jessica’s eye, and the lifeguard’s poorly suppressed grin told her everything she needed to know. "This is ridiculous. And we all know it."

So Claire did the only thing she could. She lifted her chin, let her arms drop to her sides, and owned it. If Susan wanted them to suffer through a meeting in a pool, fine. But she’d be damned if she’d let it show.

Sophie takes it in her stride

Sophie had always been the one who rolled with the punches. While Emily panicked over her blouse and Claire muttered under her breath, Sophie just leaned against the poolside pillar, arms crossed, her white button-down shirt untucked from her dark, slim-fit jeans. She wore a pair of well-worn black Converse, no socks, because she’d never been one for fuss. The sneakers were already scuffed from years of café chaos, and if they got wet? So what.

Sophie pushed off the pillar with a smirk. "Well, I guess we’re doing this." She stepped forward, her shoes submerged, jeans brushing the surface of the pool and confidently walked down the steps into the pool. The denim quickly darkened as the water seeped in, the fabric clinging to her legs. The cold sent a shiver up her spine, but she didn’t flinch. Instead, she waded deeper, the water rising to her knees, then her thighs.

She could feel the weight of her jeans dragging, the fabric growing heavier, moulding to her like a second skin. The water reached her waist, and she paused, glancing at the others. Emily looked horrified, Claire resigned, and Jess, well, Jess looked like she was having the time of her life. Sophie grinned. "If you can’t beat ‘em, drown ‘em".

With a deep breath, she leaned forward and let herself fall into the water. The pool swallowed her whole. For a second, there was silence, the ripples spreading outward, disturbing the still surface. Then Sophie surfaced with a gasp, her once-tidy blonde hair plastered to her face and neck, her white button-down now translucent, clinging to her like it had been painted on. She shook her head, sending droplets flying, and turned to face the group.

"See?" she said, her voice dripping with mock sincerity as she slicked her hair back with both hands. "Not so bad. it’s actually kinda refreshing."

Her shirt was a lost cause, completely see-through, the outline of her black bra visible through the wet fabric. The jeans, now a deep, inky blue, hugged her hips and thighs, the water beading on the surface. She kicked her feet slightly, sending another splash toward Emily, who let out a squeak and jumped back.

Sophie laughed, unfazed. "Come on, Emily. Live a little!" She spun in the water, her arms outstretched, as if she were modelling the look. "I call this business casual, poolside edition."

For a moment, the tension broke. Claire snorted, shaking her head, and even Emily’s horrified expression cracked into a reluctant smile.

Just another day in the office

Jess had spent the last few minutes savouring the spectacle, Emily’s horrified gasps, Claire’s resigned eye-rolls, Sophie’s bold, dramatic dunk. She’d watched the way the water claimed each of them, transforming their outfits into something clingy, revealing, interesting. But now, as Susan’s gaze landed on her, Jess realized her time had come. And suddenly, the thrill of watching others wasn’t quite enough.

She glanced down at herself, her lifeguard’s uniform, the standard-issue red polo and black shorts, both already slightly damp from the humidity of the pool area. The fabric was practical, durable, boring. She’d worn this outfit through countless drills, mock rescues, even the occasional accidental splash. It had lost its novelty long ago. And underneath? Sensible sports underwear, the kind designed for function, not fantasy. She’d swum in it a dozen times during training exercises. There was no mystery, no excitement, just the familiar drag of wet polyester against her skin.

But there was no backing out now. She stepped forward, her bare feet pressing against the cool tiles of the pool steps. The water lapped at her ankles, then her calves, the sensation familiar but still sending a shiver up her spine. She could feel the others’ eyes on her, Emily’s judgmental glare, Claire’s amused smirk, Sophie’s encouraging grin. "Fine. If I’m going in, I’m going to own it."

She descended another step, the water rising to her knees. One more step and the practical shorts were in the water, the black fabric remaining unchanged as the water soaked through. The polo was a bit more exciting, the red material deepening in colour, the fabric growing heavier as it absorbed the water. It wasn’t the same as watching Emily’s blouse turn translucent or Sophie’s jeans mould to her legs, but it was something. The polo clung, but her sports bra masked anything interesting the might lie underneath.

She paused for a moment, letting the water ripple around her. Then, with a grin, she leaned back and let herself float, her shorts remained modest but her polo floated loose, showing off her toned abs. She surfaced with a laugh, shaking her head like a dog, sending droplets flying toward the others. "Just another day in the office."

Emily groaned, but Sophie laughed, and even Claire cracked a smile. Jess grinned back, disappointed she hadn't worn her street clothes, but hey, it was something and she’d made the most of it.

An unexpected treat

The staff stood together in silence, water dripping from their soaked clothes, their expressions a mix of exhaustion, irritation, and, now, utter bewilderment. They had all expected Susan to remain poolside, dry and untouchable, delivering her lecture from a position of power. But Susan had other plans.

With a slow, deliberate smile, she stepped into the water.

Her stiletto heels sank slightly into the rubber mat of the pool steps, the black leather darkening instantly as the water seeped in. Emily’s jaw dropped.

"Her shoes! Those are designer! She’s ruining them!"

Claire’s eyebrows shot up, her usual composure faltering for just a second.

"She’s actually doing this. She’s choosing to do this."

Susan didn’t rush. She took her time, each step measured, as if savouring the sensation of the water climbing her legs. The tailored navy skirt of her suit darkened first, the fabric clinging to her thighs, outlining the shape of her legs. The water rose higher, reaching the hem of her jacket. Susan’s fingers twitched slightly at her sides, but her expression remained serene, almost pleased.

Jess couldn’t look away. There was something mesmerizing about the way Susan’s suit surrendered to the water, the way the fabric transformed from crisp and authoritative to something sleek, moulded, intimate. The jacket darkened, the shoulders growing heavier as the water soaked through, the material hugging her arms like a second skin.

Sophie let out a low whistle. "Damn, Susan. I didn’t think you had it in you." There was a newfound respect in her voice, a hint of admiration for the sheer audacity of it.

Emily’s horrified whisper cut through the air. "Her blouse. That’s silk!" The once-pristine white blouse was now clinging to her, the fabric turning translucent, revealing the lace trim of her bra underneath. Susan’s fingers brushed lightly over the wet material, as if adjusting it, but her eyes never left her team.

"She knows exactly what she’s doing." thought Jess.

Claire crossed her arms, but her smirk gave her away. "Well. I’ll be damned."

Susan approached her team, just as soaked as the rest of them, her once-pristine suit ruined. The water lapped gently around them, the tension in the air almost palpable. Then, with a slow, deliberate motion, Susan reached up and loosened her hair, letting it tumble down around her shoulders. Before anyone could react, she took a deep breath, and disappeared beneath the surface.

For a moment, there was silence. Ripples spread across the pool, the only sign of where Susan had been. Then, she resurfaced with a gasp, her hair slicked back, her face alight with a beaming smile. Water streamed down her cheeks, her eyelashes clumped together, and her suit now plastered to her frame in a way that made her look more approachable, and more human, than ever before.

The truth comes out

She slicked her hair back, her expression unapologetic as she met the stunned gazes of the other four women. "Alright, confession time," she said, her voice light but sincere. "This wasn’t really about productivity. That was just the excuse to get us all in here, clothes soaked, completely out of our comfort zones." She gestured to the pool, then to the group. "This? This was the real team-bonding exercise. Because nothing brings people together like a shared challenge, especially one that’s awkward as hell."

Jess, still grinning, crossed her arms. "You planned this?"

"Not the specifics," Susan admitted, "but the idea? Absolutely. I figured if we were all forced to deal with the same ridiculous, uncomfortable situation, we’d either bond or hate each other. And honestly, either way, it would’ve been more interesting than a trust fall."

Emily, who had been scowling moments before, found herself laughing despite herself. "You’re insane," she said, shaking her head. "But okay, I’ll bite. What’s the actual point of this?"

Susan waded closer to the edge of the pool, her tone turning thoughtful. "Think about it. We spend all day pretending we’ve got it together, perfect outfits, perfect professionalism, no weaknesses. But what happens when all that gets stripped away? Literally?" She gestured to her soaked suit. "Suddenly, we’re all just people, dealing with the same mess. No hierarchies, no pretences. Just us, figuring it out together."

The women stood silent contemplating this revelation. Susan broke the ice. "Anyway, we've nothing to loose, our clothes can't get any wetter, and we have the pool booked for another hour, so lets have some fun."

Pool party

She climbs the steps out of the pool, tosses her jacket aside, and turns to face the women still in the pool. The moment her jacket hit the tiles, the energy in the pool shifted. The soaked silk blouse clung to her like a second skin, leaving little to the imagination as she stood there, unapologetic and radiant. With a playful smirk, she adjusted the hem of her skirt, now riding high on her thighs, and dove back into the water. The skirt billowed around her as she resurfaced, the fabric floating for a second before settling against her legs, revealing the full length of her black stockings and the delicate lace of her panties.

The other women stared, a mix of shock and admiration on their faces.

Jess was the first to break the silence, her grin widening. She climbed onto the pool side and peeled off her soaked red polo, the fabric clung for a moment before she tossed it aside with a laugh. Beneath it, her black sports bra, sleek, form-fitting, and wet, hugged her torso, The bra’s racerback design framed her shoulders, and the wet fabric had a glossy sheen that caught the light as she moved. Her skin glistened with droplets of pool water, the contrast of the black bra against her flushed, laughing face made her look effortlessly bold and unapologetic. She didn’t hesitate, just grinned and dove back into the pool, the water instantly making the sports bra cling even tighter. "Your turn!" she called, splashing Emily playfully.

As Emily climbed the pool steps, water cascaded from her soaked outfit in glistening rivulets. Her yellow blouse clung to her skin, the fabric so saturated it dripped steadily onto the tiles below, forming small puddles at her feet. The grey pencil skirt, now heavy with water, clung to her hips and thighs, the hem dragging slightly as she stepped out of the pool. She peeled the blouse off first, the fabric making a soft, wet schlick as it released from her skin. Beneath it, her lace bralette, delicate, pale, and now transparent, clung to her, the intricate patterns of the lace doing little to conceal her.

She hooked her thumbs into the waistband of her skirt and let it slide down her legs, the wet fabric pooling at her ankles. The cool air hit her damp skin, making her shiver slightly, but she didn’t falter. Her white underwear, soaked through, left nothing to the imagination. The thin, clinging fabric was so transparent it might as well not have been there at all, framing her with a boldness that had the other women staring in stunned silence.

For a moment, there was only the sound of dripping water and the hum of the pool’s filtration system. Then Jess let out a low whistle, breaking the tension. "Well, damn, Emily!" she said, grinning. "I didn’t know you had it in you!"

Susan, still in the pool, laughed in surprise. "Emily, I am impressed. That’s the boldest thing I’ve ever seen you do!"

Claire and Sophie exchanged glances before bursting into laughter, clapping as Emily, now flushed but unapologetic, stepped back toward the pool’s edge. "Well," Emily said, her voice teasing but her smile triumphant. "You said to commit!"

Without another word, Susan reached up and pulled Emily back into the water, the splash enveloping them both as the others surged forward to greet her. Jess wrapped an arm around Emily’s shoulders, pulling her into a laughing, soggy hug. "Welcome to the dark side, Em!" she said, while Claire and Sophie crowded in, their congratulations and laughter blending into a chorus of approval.

"Okay, okay," Emily laughed, her earlier reservation replaced by exhilaration.

Susan grinned, splashing water in her direction. "And here I thought you were the shy one!"

The pool erupted into cheers, the water swirling around them as they celebrated Emily’s uncharacteristic boldness, a moment that had somehow levelled the playing field even more. The usually reserved Emily had just become the unexpected star of the show, and the others weren’t about to let her forget it.

It was Claire's turn, "After that this will be a bit of an anticlimax, but here goes…"

Claire’s announcement was met with a mix of laughter and cheers as she climbed onto the poolside, her green tunic clinging to her body before she peeled it off with a dramatic flourish. The fabric made a soft, wet plop as it hit the tiles, followed by her leggings, which she kicked off with a laugh. Left in just her black sports bra and boyshorts, both now damp and clinging to her, she paused for a second, striking a playful pose.

"Ta-da!" she said, grinning at the others. "Told you it’d be an anticlimax after Emily’s grand entrance!"

But the others weren’t having it. "No way!" Jess called, splashing water in her direction. "You’re owning it, Claire! Get in here!"

With a laugh, Claire dove back into the pool, the water enveloping her as she resurfaced in the middle of the group. Susan pulled her into a hug, the water swirling around them. "No anticlimax here," Susan said, her voice warm. "You’re part of the madness now!"

Emily, still riding the high of her own boldness, wrapped an arm around Claire’s shoulders. "Welcome to the club, Claire. No take-backsies!"

The group erupted into laughter again, the pool now a whirlwind of splashing, hugs, and shared exhilaration.

"Come on Sophie, let's see what you are wearing under those jeans"

Sophie blushed, her cheeks flushing as the group turned their attention to her. She bit her lip, then laughed, shaking her head. "Alright, alright, give me a second!" With a deep breath, she climbed onto the poolside, her jeans clinging to her legs as she unbuttoned them. The wet denim made a soft schlop as she peeled it off, revealing pale pink lace underwear, now almost completely transparent. Her white button-down shirt followed, tossed aside to reveal a matching pale pink bralette, delicate and clinging in all the right places.

The others let out a chorus of playful cheers and wolf whistles as Sophie, laughing, covered her face for a second before diving back into the pool with a splash. "Happy now?!" she called, surfacing to a round of applause and hugs.

Jess pulled her into a laughing embrace. "Sophie, you absolute legend! Who knew you were hiding those under there?"

Emily, still riding the high of her own boldness, wrapped an arm around Sophie’s shoulders. "Welcome to the club, Soph. No turning back now!"

Claire laughed, pulling Sophie into a group hug with the others. "We’re all in this together now!"

The pool erupted into laughter and splashing, the last of any lingering awkwardness washed away as the five women celebrated their newfound, unapologetic camaraderie.

Susan took charge. "OK ladies, grab your stuff, let's see if we can make it to the changing room without being seen." Jess, you’re on lookout, make sure the coast is clear. Claire and Sophie, gather up the clothes and wring them out as much as you can. Emily, grab the towels and anything else we can use to cover up if we have to make a run for it."

Claire and Sophie quickly gathered the soggy pile of clothes, wringing out as much water as they could, while Emily snatched up the towels and draped one over her arm like a makeshift shield. Susan, still in her wet clothes, grabbed her blazer put it back on. "Let’s move, follow me, quick and quiet!"

Jess gave a thumbs-up, and they made their dash. Giggling like teenagers, they hurried across the open space, their damp feet slapping against the tiles.

"That was way too close," Sophie whispered, closing the door, just as someone came around the corner.

Emily let out a breathless laugh. "We are never speaking of this again."

Susan tossed her blazer onto a bench and turned to the others, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, we’re definitely speaking of this again. But only among ourselves." She gestured to the showers. "Now, let’s rinse off, salvage what we can, and get out of here before we’re caught looking like we just survived a shipwreck."

The changing room erupted into laughter again as they set to work, the bond between them now unshakable.

Whatever happened next, they’d face it together—soaked clothes, wild stories, and all.
