Starring Susan Sullivan as Kitty Montgomery
Written by Nemesoak
To readers: I realize that some astute D&G fans may recall that Kitty did take the plunge in an episode (the one where she was on the boat), but that scene was so poorly done that the treading water segment was probably computer animation. Therefore, I have decided to give her a proper plunge in this story. Hope you like it.
It was about 11 pm when Kitty Montgomery returned to the mansion after a boring evening meeting at one of those rich women's clubs of which she is a member. Tonight would be more quiet than usual since her husband was out on a business trip for the week. Not that his presence would have livened things up much as most of the fun and romance left Kitty's life some time back. Kitty, who had just turned 50, was still in pretty good shape (at 5'7" and 127 pounds) and had a better figure and looks than most women her age, although she did not seem to think so herself. The only giveaways of her age were some wrinkles around the eyes. She was wearing a bright red two piece business suit with bright metal buttons and a slim skirt that went down to about an inch or so above her knees and had a small slit on one side. Finishing off the outfit were pantyhose and bright red pumps.
By about midnight, Kitty decided to have a walk around the property before going to bed. As she was walking outside, she noticed the bright moonlight from the full moon and how beautiful it looked. Eventually, she got near the pool, a large in-ground pool that one would expect wealthy people like the Montgomery family to own. The pool was kept and maintained mostly for the benefit of visitors and as a status symbol as neither Kitty nor her husband had swam in it for years - another example of the boring turn Kitty's life had taken. As she was admiring the way the moonlight was glinting off the water, she noticed a plastic grocery store bag floating in the pool. "Damn servants!" Kitty muttered, "Can't keep the pool clean..." Realizing the servants were gone for the day, Kitty decided to remove the debris herself.
She grabbed the pool net, but did not know that an extension handle needed to be inserted into it, so the net only reached about eight feet. She tried to reach the floating bag from one side of the pool, then the other, with no success. Then she decided to try to reach it from the diving board. Kitty then climbed the steps up to the board and got out on it. She then laid down on the board and started to reach for the debris with the net. It eluded her reach by mere inches. Kitty then reached out further, but the bag was only slightly closer. She then leaned further still. It would have worked, except Kitty fell off the board.
As she was falling, Kitty hoped that she would not conk her head on the pool bottom (not likely since the water was about 12 feet deep). In the last split second before hitting the water, she realized that she was still dressed in her suit from the meeting. Splash! After going down about six feet, Kitty swam to the surface. She then picked up the bag, swam to the side of the pool, and put it on the ground. As her arm was above the surface, Kitty noticed how shiny the fabric of her sleeve was and that it looked almost black in the moonlight. She then looked at herself in the pool as she was treading water. Her suit was almost black and the metal buttons looked especially good as they were glinting in the moonlight. Kitty's skirt had risen an inch or so, revealing a little more of her well-preserved legs. Then, she noticed her pumps, which evidently fell off when she hit the water, resting on the bottom of the deep end near the sunken pool net.
Kitty considered climbing out of the water and returning to the house, but she noticed how warm the water felt. Almost like bathwater. Figuring that, if the water was going to ruin her outfit, the damage was already done, and she also had to find a way to get her shoes and the net off the bottom, she decided to stay in and enjoy the the pool. As she was floating on her back and savoring the way the water felt against her and how her clothing moved around her, Kitty saw how her wet pantyhose made the parts of her legs that stuck above the surface look shiny. They looked quite good for her age - or even younger. She remembered that night just after her last birthday when she and her friends put on disguises and crashed a bar at a naval base. Her ridiculous outfit that night had a very short skirt. Her legs turned the men's heads - but not their stomachs. But seeing them glinting in the moonlight as she floated in the pool convinced her she was still attractive and that life still held some unexpected pleasures
- like this surprise swim.
She was beginning to really enjoy this "clothed moonlight swim" concept. The warm water and the way it moved was quite soothing. Almost as good as those expensive massages. And much more modest . When she got a massage, all she wore was a towel while some masseuse worked on her exposed back. Here, she was getting much better relief while fully clothed, and it was much cheaper. Even if her suit was ruined, she was still saving money.
As the warm water and the moonlight were working their magic, the normally aloof Kitty noticed an odd paradox. Here she was, in the pool, in something that covered far more than any swimsuit, yet she somehow felt inexplicably sexy. She thought, since she was alone and it was late at night, that it was time for this Kitty to play and make the most of her experience. But, first, there was some underwater recovery work to do.
Kitty then took a deep breath and dove down, partly to retrieve the sunken items and partly to satisfy her curiosity about how she looked underwater. Opening her eyes, she saw that the pool looked great in the moonlight. She wished she had a mirror so she could see how her hair looked, but she could see that she looked great, her skirt having slid a few inches as she was swimming downward and exposing a little more of her lovely legs. Her top moved a little and exposed a tiny bit of her trim abdomen. But, try as she might, Kitty couldn't quite reach the bottom.
Swimming back to the surface, she got an idea. Perhaps a proper dive from the diving board would give her enough momentum to allow her to swim to the bottom. Also, she wondered what it would feel like to do a proper dive in her unorthodox "swim" suit. So, she swam to the ladder to climb out of the pool. As she was climbing out, she was surprised at how heavy her clothes became. Could they have soaked up that much water? However, she ran into a small problem. Kitty's pantyhose had made her feet a bit slippery on the underwater steps. When she was halfway up, her foot that was on a lower rung slipped off. Kitty then fell down into the pool. But her next try was successful and she exited the pool. Arriving by the diving board, Kitty then climbed up the steps to the diving board.
Kitty then walked to the edge of the board, took a breath, and dove off in a perfect dive. Once underwater, she began swimming towards the bottom. This time, she got down to where she could grab the pool net. Once she got the net, Kitty began to swim along the bottom in an attempt to pick up her shoes. However, even with the weight of her soaked suit, she was still somewhat buoyant. Kitty tried to use the net to get the shoes, but failed and slowly drifted to the surface.
At the surface, Kitty thought about the problem and concluded that she needed something to act as ballast to counteract her buoyancy. She wondered what would do the job and then it occurred to her. If she took the bag that started this matter in the first place and put some rocks in it, it would work.
Exiting the pool, Kitty got the bag and started to look for rocks. However she found none. As she was putting the pool net back in the shed, something caught her eye. It was a pair of fins. She had no idea who they belonged to or why they were there. Picking them up, Kitty saw they were in good condition and that they would likely fit her feet. Figuring these would work for her purposes, she took them and returned to the pool.
At the edge of the pool, Kitty sat down and put on the fins, which fit well over her hosiery-covered feet. Then she slid herself off the pool edge and into the water. After taking a deep breath, she submerged and began swimming towards the bottom.
Just as Kitty had hoped, the fins provided her with enough thrust to easily move underwater. She reached the bottom and grabbed one of her shoes. Then, she headed for the surface for another breath and to toss the shoe onto the grass. Taking another breath, Kitty dove again, retrieved the second shoe, and tossed it too on the grass.
While she was submerged, Kitty realized that it was almost like she was weightless and that it might be fun (and a good workout to boot) to experiment with various underwater acrobatics. After the shoes were rescued, she went under again and swam along the bottom. Then she did an underwater loop-the-loop on her way to the surface. However, she got a nose full of pool water. "Well, that cleared out my sinuses..." she thought. Another dive or so later, Kitty was able to figure out how to do her underwater acrobatics without getting her nose flooded.
On her way back down, she noticed a small object sinking towards the bottom. Catching it, Kitty discovered that it was a button from her jacket. Evidently, the thread holding the button was weakened by the chlorine and it was unable to take the strain caused by Kitty's swimming. Checking on the status of the other button, it too popped off, just as she touched it. Her now buttonless jacket then opened up to reveal a conservative opaque beige bra. The loose jacket started to slide off her shoulders and interfere with her swimming, so Kitty drew back her arms and let it slide off completely and sink to the bottom as she headed for the surface.
Back on the surface, the experience with the jacket prompted Kitty to check out her skirt for signs of damage. While the fabric seemed unharmed, the button came off in her hand. Another sewing project for tomorrow. Maybe, Kitty thought, while she was repairing the buttons, she could do some alterations and lengthen the slit on her skirt to better show off her legs. For now, she simply unzipped her skirt and swam out of it, completely revealing her legs and opaque beige briefs. The skirt slowly sank to the bottom as Kitty took a deep breath and dove down. She tried some more underwater moves, then ascended back to the surface.
As she was catching her breath on the surface, Kitty was pleasantly amazed at how good a shape she was in. True, she saw herself in the mirror every morning when she got dressed and saw herself dripping wet in the bathroom mirror every time she stepped out of the shower, but out here, she just seemed to look better and sexier for some strange reason. Perhaps it was the delightful absurdity of being in a pool while wearing an outfit not made for that. Perhaps it was a sense of rebellion against all the boredom and conventionality in her life. Whatever the reason, this was the most fun she had in years.
Kitty then spent the rest of the time swimming and floating around. Looking at her undergarments, she noticed how similar (though much less revealing) they were to the bikinis she used to wear in her youth and was amazed that her body did not look too bad in this impromptu two-piece (three-piece if you count her pantyhose). Most of her friends who were either her age or a little younger were terribly out of shape, and yet, here she was - quite fit and trim. Too bad there was no-one around to share this experience with. If her husband could see her now, he might get turned on, but more likely he would think she went bonkers. If her friends found out, they might think she was crazy. Even by the standards of the family her son married into, it might be insane.
However, there might be a way to find out how people would react. At the next outdoor party, the festivities could be held poolside and Kitty could fake an accidental fall into the pool. That way, she could see how people reacted and quickly exit the pool if necessary. But, if some people decided to jump in and join her, well that would be another thing.
Then Kitty noticed the moon was sinking towards the west. Had she been swimming this long? It would start getting light soon and a new day would dawn. She quickly dove down and retrieved her suit and shoes. Exiting the pool, she raced back to the house, rinsed out her suit in the shower to remove the chlorine, hung it carefully to dry in the hope that she might somehow be able to salvage it, changed, and went to bed. As she was drifting off to a very restful sleep, she thought it might be a good idea to get that one-piece swimsuit out of storage so she could spend some time in the pool during the day. Then, she remembered that she had several functions to attend while her husband was still on his business trip. For those functions, she would choose her outfits with the intention of socializing by day and swimming by night. Perhaps this might give her the chance to actually wear some of that fancy lingerie she had but never had any reason to wear.
But that would be another story (which anyone is free to write) for another time.
Starring Dr Emily Senay
Written by Nemesoak
It was a hot humid morning in the summer when Dr. Emily Senay, health reporter for the CBS Early Show, arrived at the pool of a local country club to do a segment on pool safety. Emily was well-dressed in a smart red business suit with a knee-length skirt and a white blouse. The only people there besides Emily was the camera crew. This was exactly as planned, since visitors would only get in the way.
The crew started taping the segment. Emily then started her presentation. She discussed the importance of not going near a pool unless you are sober, use of non-slip surfaces in the pool area, proper chlorine levels, and other eminently practical advice. She did an extremely good job, especially since she was trying extremely hard not to look wilted from the near-stifling heat and humidity.
At the conclusion of the segment, the camera crew quickly packed up their gear and left to head back to their studio and air conditioning. Emily, who drove up in her own car, stuck around for a few minutes.
Just then, it happened. A blur of dark reddish orange appeared. It was a very large Irish Setter. The dog had evidently gotten away from its owner (as evidenced by the dragging leash) and had chased something. Seeing Emily and sensing that she was basically a friendly person, the dog quickly approached and jumped up in an attempt to greet her. However, all that was accomplished was that Emily was startled and the dog had pushed her right into the pool.
Emily fell in with a loud splash. Then the realization that she was in the water in her suit hit her. She promptly surfaced and was spitting and coughing out some water. Her blonde hair was plastered to her head, her jacket was bobbing. Bubbles from the splash mixed with those from the air escaping from her clothes. She then noticed that her skirt rode up to nearly mid-thigh level. While her legs were not spectacular, they were by no means ugly, but Emily quickly smoothed down her skirt since was she was somewhat modest.
Then, Emily glanced down at her blouse. The blouse had turned totally translucent and very clearly revealed her conservative bra. She then held her jacket closed, feeling a bit self-conscious.
A man soon appeared. He was not only the owner of the dog, but also owner of the club. He tied the dog to a nearby post and profusely apologized to Emily. She replied that she wasn't hurt, but she was not sure about her suit. The man then offered to pay her for either dry cleaning or replacing the outfit. "Here, let me help you out." he asked.
Reaching down to Emily, the dog owner managed to fake a fall into the pool. "Hey!" shouted Emily. "You fell in deliberately!"
The man replied "You got me. I just wanted to get in with you."
Emily quickly raised her hand and pointed to her ring. "Don't get any ideas! I'm married!" she shot back.
A bit disappointed, the man said "All right. But being in the water on a day like this is a relief. You ought to loosen up and enjoy it."
Emily said "What do you mean? True, the water feels nice, but we have our clothes on. I don't know about you, but my suit is probably ruined, and my blouse looks like something from a wet T-shirt contest."
"Hey, relax." the dog owner responded. "Lots of people do this. They actually enjoy the way their clothes move in the water. In fact, there is a group up in Canada called 'WetScape' which actually studies and promotes this stuff."
"Oh, really..." Emily asked. Upon thinking about it, the water did feel good and the way her stuff felt was a new and interesting sensation. She understood how people could actually enjoy this. Even if she got out right this minute, it wouldn't save her suit. So she figured that she might as well get some enjoyment out of her predicament. Emily then swam out a ways, but she had some difficulty since she was also trying to concentrate on keeping her jacket closed and her skirt from riding up too much.
Seeing her swimming, the man said "I see you need some work on your technique. I'll help." He then swam over to Emily. "First of all," he explained "lose the shoes. They only slow you down." With her friend steadying her, Emily reached down, removed her shoes, then tossed them onto the grass. "Also, I believe your jacket causing a bit of drag. For an experienced person, that's not a problem, but a beginner needs all the help they can get."
"Hey! Not so fast!" shouted Emily. My blouse went see-through on me, and I think I'd be a bit overexposed." Opening her jacket, she said "See?".
Looking things over, the dog owner ask Emily "Ever wore a two-piece swimsuit?" She replied that she did. "Well, what you have on under the blouse probably covers more than the top of one of those did. Plus, your translucent blouse blurs things a bit too. Heck, I've seen quite a few women show off much more than you would ever show." Feeling a bit more confident, Emily slid off her jacket and handed it to her new friend, who put it on the edge of the pool. "Now, how about a few lessons in the art of clothed swimming?"
"First, let's concentrate on simple swimming. Nothing fancy." the man commented. "The best strokes are those where your arms never leave the water. Out of the water, your sleeves slow things down. The breaststroke works best."
Emily tried it and she was moving better. However, she was concentrating on keeping her skirt under some measure of control, so that slowed her down a bit.
Seeing this, her friend said "Don't worry about it. Remember what I said before about swimsuits? Even with an occasional glimpse of your panties, you are still far more modest than most people in swimsuits."
"What the hell..." Emily thought and ignored the ride-up. Her swimming improved and she was beginning to enjoy it.
"Now, try floating on your back." the man said. Emily then flipped onto her back. It took a little effort to find the right balance as her clothes threw things off a bit. "That's good! Try a simple backstroke." With a gentle paddling of her arms and kicking her legs, Emily moved across the pool. The perspective of the backstroke allowed her to watch how her skirt moved around her legs. Seeing them like this, she noticed they looked rather nice.
"Very good!" exclaimed her friend. "Let's see how long you can hold your breath." Emily then put her face under and was able to hold her breath for about 45 seconds. The man then taught her a few little tricks, and soon she could hold it for well over a minute or so.
Next on the agenda was how to swim underwater without the benefit of any fins, masks, or other aids. Emily and her friend were having a good time, swimming along the bottom and doing simple underwater acrobatics.
As Emily was on the surface, draining out water that went up her nose and catching her breath, she said "Funny, isn't it? For someone who works on a ship occasionally, this is the most aquatic activity I've done in years."
"You work on a ship?" the man asked.
"In a way. I work on something in New York called 'The Floating Hospital' and it is on a ship."
"I see..." the man responded. "But that type of work doesn't allow much contact with the water. Just as well, since the water your ship is on is nasty."
"True," Emily replied. "but even when I came here today, I had no intention of swimming. All I was going to do was tell people how to be safe around pools..."
"And now," the man added, "you learned a whole new aspect of water safety. That's what the people at WetScape stress. Even if you don't do anymore of this in future, though that would be a shame, it is useful to know in case you accidentally wind up in the water somehow."
"You're right." Emily commented. Still, I don't see why people find this so fascinating. While it does feel nice, it seems so strange."
"Well, there is the beauty-enhancing aspect. If you wore a swimsuit, you might get some attention..."
"Even with my average figure?" Emily interjected.
"As I was saying, but in your clothes, there are other elements at work. Buoyancy can be, shall we say, enhancing to certain aspects of the figure. Also, there's the see-through aspect, so you are showing some skin and not showing skin at the same time. Then, there is the tease of the ride-up. It is very enjoyable to watch, and it makes you rather tempting to me, though I am restraining myself."
"That's good." Emily stated. "I'll just fool around in the pool for a while longer, then I'll get out."
"Okay. While you are doing that, I'll get some towels and unlock the changing rooms. You will have to shower to rinse off the chlorine. Then we'll see how badly your suit is damaged. I have a feeling the damage may not be as bad as you think."
"What about your clothes?" Emily asked.
"All washable. I do this quite frequently, so I know what works and what doesn't." With that, he swam to the ladder and exited the pool.
Emily then swam towards the ladder. By this time, her friend had unlocked the locker room and returned with towels. Helping Emily out, he noted the way the water streamed off her suit and how it clung tightly to her. Emily also noticed and, at first, felt a little self-conscious. But, the experience was fun and she lightened up as she took the towel.
"Now, you should go straight to the shower and rinse off the chlorine." the man explained. He also told Emily how to hang up her stuff so it would dry properly. He added "I also left a robe you could wear while waiting for your stuff to dry."
Emily then went into the locker room and showered. It felt odd showering in a suit, but today was an unusual day. As she was showering, Emily removed her suit. Changing into a robe, she hung her wet clothes to dry as she was instructed. "Ah, now some peace and quiet..." she thought as she found a place to sit and relax in the air-conditioned comfort of the locker room.
Soon, her clothes were dry and she changed back into them. Exiting the locker room, her friend greeted her and gave her a once over. "Just as I thought. Your suit appears to have survived unscathed. You can go anywhere now and no one will be the wiser."
Relieved, Emily responded "Well, it has been a new experience for me today. Who would have thought I would have learned about a whole new aspect of in the water activity today? Thanks for letting me rinse off and for saving my suit."
Her friend replied "I should thank you! While I do this type of swimming often, it is very seldom that I am able to do it with an attractive, well-dressed woman." Seeing that Emily was giving him a certain look, he continued "Of course, I remember you told me you were married, but I still enjoyed your company nonetheless. Perhaps I might see you again someday."
Smiling, Emily told him "If we do, make sure of one thing: that your dog is secured. I don't like being jumped on..."
"Will do!"
Saying her goodbye, Emily returned to her car and drove off. As she was driving, she thought about the events of the day. While it was a fun new experience, she doubted that she would make a habit of clothed swimming. She was too busy and had too few opportunities. Besides, some people might find the idea of a swimming doctor too hard to accept. But, on the upside, she reasoned, what she learned today would make her far more confident around water and, in the unlikely event she accidentally got into the water, she could handle herself and stay out of trouble.
All in all, this day turned out to be far more interesting than Emily expected.
Starring Jodi Applegate
Written by Nemesoak
Since CBS This Morning had the services of Martha Stewart, NBC's Today Show felt they needed an expert at entertaining guests. To that end, they hired Agatha Wetworth, a thin, late-fortyish blonde of plain appearance with credentials similar to Martha Stewart's.
The first segment with her was to be taped on what turned out to be a hot, humid summer Saturday. Jodi Applegate, the cute brunette who anchors the show's weekend edition was chosen for the assignment. Realizing the temperature that day, Jodi chose to wear a yellowish suit with an above-the-knee skirt and matching pumps since it would be a bit cooler than the pantsuits she usually wore for the program.
Jodi and the TV crew arrived at the Wetworth mansion and were promptly greeted by Agatha. The TV people were escorted to the backyard, near the swimming pool, where a table was set up. As soon as the camera and sound gear was set up, the segment started.
Mrs. Wetworth began, "Do you know that you don't need to spend a lot of money to make pool decorations for your parties?" Jodi responded that she did not. "Actually," Wetworth explained, "it is quite simple. Look at this piece of styrofoam. We can use this to make a floating candle holder that looks like a lily pad." With MacGuyver-like resourcefulness, some old green trashbag material, wire coathangers, a candle, and an old glass, a lily-pad candle took shape. Then Wetworth lit it and set it in the pool.
Next, a duck lawn ornament was turned into a duck pool decoration with a few fishing sinkers tied to the feet for ballast. Jodi was quite impressed.
The segment ended and the TV crew left.
"How come you're not leaving with the crew?" Wetworth asked.
"This is the last bit of work I had to do before I leave on vacation. My husband will be stopping by to pick me up soon." Jodi answered.
As Jodi and Agatha were continuing their conversation, a car pulled up. It was Jodi's husband. He was dressed casually in a shortsleeve shirt and dockers. Jodi then introduced him to Agatha.
"Before I go," Jodi asked, "I have a question. How do you get the ornaments out of the pool? That candle thing looks a bit too fragile for a pool net."
"Well, you're right about that," Wetworth replied, "but there are a couple of ways. If it is a windy day, the wind will blow all the stuff to one side of the pool and you can scoop them up. Then, of course, on a hot day like today, you and your guests can make fun out of the job by jumping into the pool and getting them."
Jodi mentioned "That would be a good idea if it was a pool party, and a swim on a hot day would be refreshing, but what if no one has swimsuits?"
"That makes it even more fun then!" Wetworth answered.
With that, she jumped right into the pool without removing a thing, not even her glasses. As she surfaced and started swimming around, Jodi's husband was watching in amazement. Then Jodi noticed him watching.
"What is going on?" Jodi angrily whispered. "That woman, who wouldn't raise anybody's eyebrows anywhere jumps in a pool and she has your undivided attention! Well..."
"Honey," he explained, "it's the oddity of it. It is unusual for a woman in a long green summer dress to jump in and go swimming fully clothed like that. I am not attracted to her!"
Jodi asked "Well, what would you do if a woman you thought was attractive dove in?"
"I don't know," he answered. I don't see that kind of thing much."
Jodi walked away in a huff, but got an idea. She walked over to the diving board, removed her shoes, and got on it.
"Hey!" she yelled, "Get a load of this!"
Jodi then executed a perfect dive into the pool and leisurely swam underwater a distance before surfacing. Reaching the surface, Jodi realized that clothed swimming was much more pleasant than she thought, especially on a hot day. She also noticed her husband's reaction - he was surprised and turned on all at once.
Sensing the inevitable, Jodi's husband removed his watch and wallet and proceeded to the poolside. Reaching down to help Jodi out, he managed to fake a fall and landed in the pool. He stayed under a few seconds to admire the view. He had never seen her quite like this before, her jacket bobbing and her skirt up at the top of her thighs. He then surfaced, running his hand along her as he did. On the surface, he exclaimed "Now you know what I think! And now..." He then proceeded to give Jodi a long kiss and the two of them slowly submerged, only to surface a second later, spitting water.
"It looks so easy in the movies," Jodi complained. Her husband removed his shirt and tried to remove Jodi's jacket, but she resisted. Jodi had discovered that her blouse was now very translucent and clearly revealed her bra.
Catching the commotion, Mrs. Wetworth said "Go ahead. I've seen lots of women at these type of parties who wear less underneath." Reassured, Jodi removed her jacket but left everything else on.
Soon, it was time to leave. Mrs Wetworth gave Jodi and her husband plastic material to cover the car seats to protect them from damage and the couple left.
As they were driving off, Jodi mentioned "You know, we are going to have to rinse the chlorine out of this suit or it will get damaged..."
"True," her husband responded, "and I believe I have an idea as to how to do it..."
Their next wet adventure (a trip to the shower) accomplished that, but they probably were not fully-clothed for long.
Starring Marina Sirtis
Written by Nemesoak
Another successful "Star Trek" convention had concluded, and Marina Sirtis, the lovely actress who played Deanna Troi on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was very pleased with how it went. There were lots of fans, but virtually all of them were well-behaved and none of them did anything improper in dealing with her. Things had gone very smoothly indeed, but Marina's luck was about to go downhill.
The plan had called for Marina to leave the hotel which hosted the convention and catch a flight back home the day after the end of the convention. However, that was not to be. Midnight of the night the convention ended, there was a strike by one of the unions in the flight industry. As a result, there were almost no flights leaving for the time being and Marina was stuck at the hotel until this problem could be settled.
Now, the hotel management did try to help by upgrading the accomodations of Marina and the other stranded convention celebrities to luxury suites. But this was mainly done to free up rooms for stranded business travelers.
Sitting in a room all day, even a luxury one, can be boring. Expecting only a weekend trip, Marina packed very light and didn't even bring anything to help pass the time. So, she eventually headed to the hotel's outdoor poolside bar.
The bar was less boring, but the scenery was better and the air was fresher. However, this place had problems of its own. The science fiction fans, though they might have been geeks, were friendly. The business travelers who replaced them were a different lot. They were all pretty ticked off about being stranded, and their drinking only made things worse.
The first day of Marina's extended stay, things weren't too bad in the bar. The next day, the frayed nerves of the business travelers were starting to show. Two men got into a heated argument over some trivial matter. Then one of the combatants grabbed a pitcher of beer and threw the contents at his opponent. He missed his target and the beer hit the front of Marina's dark blue sweater and jeans.
Marina jumped from her seat, aghast and surveying her beer-soaked outfit. Just then, the bartender showed up. "Hi, I'm Steve. Let me help you." he said.
"What a mess..." Marina grumbled. While this was happening, Steve produced a tablecloth and wrapped it around Marina.
"That beer was ice cold and I don't want these guys to start ogling you, looking for any 'effects' from the cold liquid."
"Thank you."
"One more thing. I'll see about getting the hotel to launder that outfit for you. I'm so sorry that this had to happen to you."
"That's very sweet of you." Marina replied. Then, she left the bar and headed back to her room.
In her room, she got out of her beer-doused outfit and put it into a plastic bag. After a quick shower, Marina changed into the pantsuit she was saving for the flight home. "Looks like I'll have to wear every outfit at least a few times before I get home." she thought. Then, she took the sweater, jeans, and the tablecloth Steve gave her and went to the main desk. After explaining her situation along, with some help from Steve, the hotel staff agreed to clean the outfit.
After dinner, Marina went back to the room and vainly searched for something to watch on TV. Some time later, she gave up and decided to turn in early.
The next day, Marina got up and got dressed. Her sweater and jeans were still being cleaned and would not be back until some time tonight. So she decided to wear what she wore on the first day of the convention - a tight, red, sleeveless minidress that was quite popular with the fans (for very obvious reasons).
After a call to find out about the airport situation (the situation had not changed - still no flights), Marina set off to find something to occupy herself. After breakfast, she settled on a trip into town to see if there were any interesting sites. The trip was uneventful, but at least she was out of the hotel.
In the evening, after she had finished dinner, she headed to back to the hotel's poolside bar. Marina hoped there would be no repeat of yesterday's incident. As soon as she arrived, she was greeted by Steve.
"Everything okay?" Steve asked.
"I'm fine. Just bored." Marina replied.
"Well, find a seat at the bar. You played a counselor on 'Star Trek', now it's my turn."
It was an invitation Marina couldn't refuse. She took her place at the bar and started a conversation with Steve. They talked about "Star Trek", fans (especially a nice one known to you readers as 'Nemesoak'), and music (Marina's husband is a rock musician). They were having a good time.
Several times in the conversation, slightly inebriated bar patrons tried to pick up Marina or make suggestive comments to her. However, a scowl or, at most, a reprimand from Steve was sufficient to stop them. Steve also kept a close watch on Marina's drinks to make sure no one tried to slip anything into them.
A few hours later, the bar and pool areas were almost deserted. The warm evening air had a perfect, soft breeze to it. The last man drinking at the bar was a heavy-set man. His suit indicated that he was a stranded business traveler and his speech and demeanor indicated that he was very drunk.
The drunk put his hand on Marina's shoulder and slurred "Hows about cheering up a bored exec, honey?"
Marina quickly took his hand off her shoulder and snapped back "I am not your honey! I am a married woman! Why don't you go get some sleep and sober up?"
"Aw, don't be so uptight." the drunk slurred, "No one has to know but us." He then grabbed Marina's arm tightly and tried to pull her.
Marina was getting anxious. Trying to get him to let go, she exclaimed "Please! Let me go! You're hurting me!"
"After all those geeks, I guess I'm too much of a man for you, huh? I can teach you a few things..."
Steve decided to intervene. He shouted at the drunk "The woman wants you to leave her alone. If you have any problem with that, you'll have to deal with me!"
"What you gonna do, stop serving drinks?"
Steve angrily replied "You aren't getting anymore to drink anyway. You're too damn drunk! Now, if you don't leave that lady alone, you're going to meet a good friend of mine..." With that, Steve reached behind the bar and produced a baseball bat.
The drunk could still recognize a baseball bat and could deduce what it would do to his skull. "Hey! I don't want no trouble. I'll go back to my room." The drunk released Marina's arm and started walking back to the hotel, passing near the pool.
He was still cussing at his misfortune under his breath as he was walking next to the pool. Then, it happened. The drunk clutched at his chest and started to collapse. He then fell into the pool with a loud splash.
Steve, seeing what happened, said "I don't think he's faking it!". He then got the phone, called 911, and gave a quick description of the situation. Then, he removed his apron, jumped over the bar, ran for the pool, and dove in, still in his dress shirt, black pants, and shoes.
Surfacing, Steve swam over to the stricken man and got him so he wouldn't drown. Fortunately, Steve got there in seconds, so the man didn't have a chance to inhale water. Another big plus was that he was still breathing, though he was obviously in very serious trouble.
Steve pulled the drunk to the edge of the pool and tried to get him out of the water. However, the drunk was a bit too heavy for Steve to accomplish this. Then, Steve had an idea.
"I could use some help here!" he yelled.
For about a tenth of a second, Marina looked around to see if there was anyone else in the area that could be who Steve was asking. But Marina was the only person in the area.
"Come on," Steve called out, "I can't get him out."
Marina knew what had to be done. After kicking off her shoes, she considered (for a millisecond) removing her dress. She was sure what she had on underneath could pass for swimwear, but she decided that time was of essence. Besides, a swim might do the dress some good.
Arriving at the pool, Marina jumped in. The water was only up to her shoulders, with the lower part of her hair submerged. Her dress became very clingy and even more formfitting than before. Half swimming, half wading, Marina came up to where Steve was.
Though tempted to admire Marina, Steve concentrated on the task at hand. With coordinated effort, Steve and Marina got the drunk out of the pool and on his back on the edge of the pool.
"How is he?" Marina asked.
"Not good. But he's still breathing. He would have drowned if I was much slower." Steve responded.
"That's good that he's still breathing. I wouldn't want to be the one to have to give him mouth-to-mouth."
About a minute and a half later (the EMS in this city have an excellent response time), sirens were heard in the parking lot. Swimming towards a ladder, Steve said "I have to get out so I can direct the paramedics over here." He then exited the water and Marina silently admired how Steve's shirt was translucent and very clingy. His pants weren't half bad either.
As the sound of the medical crew drew closer, Marina thought "What if one of them recognizes me?" While she had nothing against fans, Marina realized that her dress was a bit more revealing in the water than it was on dry land. It left nothing of her contours to the imagination, was slightly translucent (just enough to dimly reveal her black bra and panty set), and it had ridden up as high as it could possibly go and still offer coverage. True, she shown far more skin in a few flicks in her early career, but Marina felt those days were long behind her.
Fortunately, she had an idea. Taking a deep breath, Marina quickly bobbed her head under. Surfacing, she slicked back her hair. She also cleared her throat for when the paramedics arrived.
Seconds later, the medical crew did arrive and they put the drunk on a stretcher. "Thanks to your quick action, I think this man will pull through." said one of the paramedics. "Now, tell me what happened."
Steve gave an account of what happened from the moment the man had chest pains, carefully leaving out any mention of the man's drunken behavior or Marina's presence. "Okay." commented the paramedic. "I think your friend there deserves some credit too."
The other paramedic noticed Marina and chimed in "Hey, aren't you Marina Sirtis? I really liked your work on 'Star Trek'."
Flashing Steve an expression that said "I know, just play along...", Marina answered in an accent totally different from her normal voice "You'd be surprised how many people tell me that. I suppose I do bear a resemblance. Kind of odd, huh?"
The paramedic responded "Sorry to have bothered you, ma'am. Thanks for helping your friend with the rescue."
As the paramedics left, Steve asked "What was that all about?"
Marina answered "I didn't want him to recognize me. I was afraid he'd get a picture or something and post it to the web. It's bad enough that those clips from early movies are up there. I don't want to see pictures of myself looking like this..."
"I think you look wonderful," Steve replied as he jumped back in the pool and swam up to Marina. "What's amazing is that you are showing less skin than you did on that 'Voyager' guest spot where you were on a beach in that gray one-piece, yet you look far more interesting."
"Never thought of it that way. Come to think of it, it does feel fun and a bit naughty at the same time, especially with how clingy my dress is and the way it moves. Still, if someone got a picture of me like this and it shown how much I was enjoying it, people might think I was either drunk or very weird."
"Well," Steve commented, "I know you're not drunk and I don't think you are weird at all. I think you are a fine woman. And now, thanks for your help." With that, Steve went and gave Marina a kiss. She too felt grateful for all of Steve's help arlier so she reciprocated. They slowly submerged in an embrace, each savoring the feel of the other underwater. A few seconds later, they separated suddenly and shot to the surface.
"I think it would be best for both of us if we stopped. That was starting to get a little too enjoyable." Marina stated.
"I agree." responded Steve. "Don't want to do something that we both would regret later. I'll get out now. There's a few things I need to tend to, but I'll be nearby in case you need anything."
As Steve exited the pool, Marina asked "Okay if I stay in for a while? The water is so nice."
"Go right ahead. You earned it."
Marina continued her swim session and Steve was admiring the view from the bar. The tabloid reports were way off. There was nothing wrong with Marina's figure, Steve thought. He especially enjoyed the way Marina's hair moved as she was paddling around on her back and he also liked how the water and the cling of her dress made her seem even more endowed. Every now and then, Marina would dive beneath the surface and swim along the bottom, her lovely legs almost totally revealed and in motion. Then, she would do some simple aquabatics on the way to the surface. It was like watching water ballet.
After a while of this, Marina swam to a ladder and exited the pool. As she got out of the water, her dress really clung tight to her. This made it incredibly formfitting and a bit more translucent than before. It was almost all Steve could do to keep his jaw from dropping at this impressive sight.
Marina then walked up to the bar and got a drink. Then she discussed with Steve about how much fun it was to swim in the pool like that.
"I wonder what your husband would say if he could see you now?" asked Steve.
"Well, he'd be amazed and, after that, who knows what would happen..." Marina responded. "But I don't know if he would actually jump into the pool to join me for a clothed swim. Even though he is a rock musician, he is actually a fairly ordinary guy. The thing he really likes is golf. He's quite good at it actually."
"Interesting. I tried golf once, but after hitting the ball about 50 times on four holes, I gave it up."
A short while later, Marina looked back at the pool and said "There's something I want to try before I turn in. I think you will like it."
"What might that be?" asked Steve.
"You'll see in a second." Marina then began to remove her red dress.
"Whoa! I don't think we should..." exclaimed Steve.
"Relax. I was just thinking about how much my underwear looks like a bikini. Besides, you've seen it already. This dress doesn't do much for concealment when it's wet." Marina then finished removing the dress, which left her in her black bra, panties, and pantyhose. Then, she ran to the pool and dove in.
Steve was very impressed. It did look like a bikini, but it somehow looked much better. Marina swam the length of the pool, diving under periodically, turned around, and swam to a ladder.
Anticipating what she wanted, Steve produced a plastic bag and a towel, which he handed to Marina when she exited the pool.
"I guess I'm goin to turn in now. Thanks for the towel." Marina said.
"Okay. I think I should close up now anyway. I've had plenty of excitement for one night and I don't think I can take much more, if you get my drift."
"I do," Marina laughed. "Well, good night and I appreciate your restraint." Then, Marina walked to the locker room. She towelled herself the best she could, put her shoes back on, stuffed the dress into the bag and headed back to her hotel room, tired but refreshed at the same time.
Marina's luck appeared to have improved considerably as she managed to get back to her hotel room totally unobserved. Even if anyone did see her, the way she had her towel and stuff, they would have assumed that she decided to take an ordinary late night swim.
Since her upgraded room featured a jacuzzi, and since she was still damp from her swim, Marina decided to try it out. Getting back into her red dress, Marina got the jacuzzi started and lowered herself in. It was wonderful. She then turned on the jets and had a nice soak. After a while, she removed the dress and resumed relaxing in the jacuzzi in her undergarments. By the time she was finished, she was enjoying the jacuzzi "California style".
When she was finished, Marina rinsed the chlorine out of her garments, took a shower, and went to bed. Though her sleep was restful, she had a series of unusual dreams. One dream had her getting up in the morning and heading out to her pool for a swim - still in her black sleeveless nightgown. Another dream had her attending a party in a strapless dress with gloves. The party quickly moved into the pool and no one thought it was odd.
The next morning, Marina awoke. A short while later, the phone rang. It was Steve. "Did you hear the news?" he asked.
"No, what news?" Marina answered.
"The airport. Looks like they resolved the problem and flights are being resumed."
"That's great. I can get to go home now. All I have to do is to find out when my flight leaves."
Steve responded "If you give me your information, I can look that up for you and give it when I return your outfit from the cleaners."
"Thanks. I'd appreciate it."
A few minutes later, Marina heard something outside her door. Opening it a little, Marina could see her outfit in a cleaners bag hanging from the knob along with a sheet of paper. Steve had come through and didn't want to disturb her.
Taking the clothes, Marina changed into her pantsuit and packed her luggage. A phone call later, she was ready to leave and head for the airport. But there was one thing she had to do first.
It took a little effort, but Marina located Steve. "Steve," she said, "I'm leaving and I wanted to say goodbye. You were very helpful and we did have a surprisingly good time last night."
"About last night," Steve commented, "somehow management found out about your swim. At first, they were a bit upset since they frown on the idea of clothed swimming for some strange reason. But, when I explained how you helped save that guy who fell in and spared the hotel some very expensive litigation, they had a change of heart. They told me to tell you that you are welcome in the pool anytime. And also that you won't be charged for the extended stay. Just a way of saying thanks."
"That's nice." Marina stated. "Now, I have to go." With that, she kissed Steve. Steve then gave Marina a quick hug and kiss.
Later, on the flight home, Marina thought about how her husband would react to seeing her in the pool fully-clothed. "Only one way to find out..." she thought.
A few weeks later, Steve received a heavily padded package. Opening it up, he found a note and several autographed CDs. The note was from Marina and her husband and it said that Marina's husband was so pleased with the way Steve looked out for her that he sent some of his CDs as a gift. The note also invited Steve to visit if he was ever in that part of the country.
That evening in the pool, and now this. Steve was one lucky man. As for Marina Sirtis, would she have another aquatic adventure? Who can say? Also, other celebrities were at this convention. Did any of them wind up in the pool? That might be a question for another time or another author.
Starring Sharyl Attkisson
Written by Nemesoak
Recently, in a town in the state of Maryland, USA, there was a health fair. This was a gathering of various health and medical charities with fun fundraising events in a country fair setting.
One of the groups, a cancer charity, had as their fundraiser a personal appearance and autograph session by Sharyl Attkisson - the lovely and leggy brunette hostess of "HealthWeek". She was wearing a bright red jacket top and a black pleated mid-thigh skirt which really showed off her great legs. With a woman that attractive, the event was a great success. Since her task was finished before the end of the day's events, Sharyl and her husband decided to take a stroll through the fair and see what the other groups were doing.
Since the fair was set up at the local recreation center, there was a large inground pool. Sitting at the edge of the pool was a Rube-Goldberg type of contraption. Since this was being operated by a children's charity and Sharyl was a friend of the man running it, she asked what the device was.
"Hi Sharyl," he replied, "this is a dunk tank without the tank. Makes it easier to transport. And since it uses this swimming pool, I can have the dunkees fall into the deep end with no risk of hitting the bottom."
"Interesting..." Sharyl commented.
"Yep, built it myself." added the tank operator.
"How's business today?" Sharyl's husband asked.
"Lousy!" replied the operator. "All the volunteers today were no-shows. And with no volunteers, no dunkings, and no contributions!"
"That's terrible!" Sharyl exclaimed. "If only you had let me know, I could have brought my swimsuit and volunteered myself. It's hot today and that would have been fun."
Thinking for a moment, the tank operator had an idea and said "Well, maybe you can volunteer right now."
Shocked, Sharyl asked "How? As you can see, I'm way overdressed for a dunktank and I am not about to strip down to my underwear (though her black bra and panties might have easily passed for a bikini)!"
"Relax," explained the operator, "you don't need to worry about falling in. I can see to it."
Then he asked Sharyl's husband to tap the target. He did and the seat dropped. The operator then turned a knob and told Sharyl's husband to really whack the target. He did and nothing happened.
"That's the adjustment knob.", the operator explained. "It's at the maximum setting. If you're sitting on it with this setting, balls could hit the target and you won't drop."
"Well..." Sharyl replied, "since there's only about an hour left to the fair and it's on the maximum setting, I'll volunteer." With that, she removed her shoes (to climb better) and got onto the seat in as ladylike a manner as possible (not too easy in a short skirt).
The tank operator then started yelling "Come on! Step right up and dunk the lovely TV hostess! Three balls for five dollars!"
A crowd assembled and people paid their money and tried their luck.
As it was becoming apparent, the tension adjustment was unnecessary - no one hit the target. In many cases, the anticipation of seeing a lovely and well-dressed woman land in the pool had the guys in such an aroused state that it affected their pitching skill. In other cases, a disapproving scowl from a wife or girlfriend was enough to have a guy miss just to preserve domestic tranquility.
As things were winding down, a man could be seen making his way to the tank area. He was a player on the local minor league baseball team and was at the health fair signing copies of his book. Seeing Sharyl sitting on the seat of the dunking apparatus, the ball player bought three balls and turned to the crowd.
"Want to hear a story about the big game last week?", he asked. With approval from the audience, he continued. "It was the bottom of the ninth with two outs and two men on base. I stepped up to the plate. The pitcher threw a high curveball." As if to illustrate, he threw the first ball which flew over the target and would have beaned Sharyl if she hadn't leaned to the side.
"Next," the ballplayer went on, "he threw a low slider - strike two." Again, he threw a ball, but this one went just under the target.
"Now, the pressure was on. I had to do it. The pitcher threw a hard fastball." The player threw the final ball as an 85-mile-an-hour fastball and hit the target. No setting on the target adjustment could stand that kind of impact and the seat dropped.
Sharyl fell right into the pool. As she hit the water and descended, the cool water instantly soaked through her outfit and felt good on this hot afternoon. Her pleated skirt was full enough to even do a "Marilyn" as she went down, revealing her black panties. As she was smoothing her skirt down, Sharyl realized that this was much more pleasant than she thought.
Sharyl bobbed to the surface, treading water, to great applause. Some of the onlooking guys, though, were dragged away by their wives and girlfriends who displeased at the way they were ogling Sharyl.
"Sorry about that.", the ballplayer explained. "I couldn't resist."
"No problem." Sharyl replied. "I didn't mind. In fact it was quite refreshing."
The ballplayer then wrote out a check to the charity that ran the dunk tank (for providing him with "entertainment") and left.
The tank operator turned to Sharyl's husband and said "Thanks to you and to Sharyl for being such a good sport. The charity did well. By the way, let me know if any of her outfit was ruined. I'll pay for it."
As her husband was looking at Sharyl with approval (and at least one other happy emotion), Sharyl mentioned "You know, it's not considered good for people to swim alone."
"True enough," the husband added, "but what if I sit up in that seat and watched you like a lifeguard?" He then removed his wallet, watch, and shoes and went up onto the seat. As he was doing this, the operator turned the setting back to normal and tossed Sharyl a ball.
Sharyl yelled to her husband, "Here! Catch!" and tossed the ball. She aimed for the target, hit it, and now her husband was in the pool too.
As the couple was swimming around, enjoying the sensations of clothed swimming, the tank operator packed up his gear and left.
Soon, Sharyl and her husband climbed out in order for their clothes to dry enough for the ride home. As they were standing around, Sharyl said "This was fun."
Her husband responded "I agree. I got an idea. Why not see if we can continue our swim party - in a more private setting?"
"Sounds good to me!" Sharyl concurred.

Based upon "Leeza's Research" by Adrena
Everything was almost ready for the episode of "Leeza" dealing with intelligent animals that was scheduled to be taped for next week, except for one small thing. Leeza had heard that there was a facility in a small coastal town within reasonable driving distance where research was being done into dolphin intelligence. An interview and some tape footage of their work would be just the thing to finish out the show. After all, people find that stuff fascinating. So, Leeza's people made some phone calls and a visit was arranged for Saturday.
Saturday morning Leeza woke up and got ready to go to the research facility. Dressed in a white blouse and a tan suit, and tan pumps, she drove off to the assignment. She looked good, she thought. Her heels made her look a bit taller, especially with her mid-thigh skirt. "Shouldn't take too long, just a short interview and borrowing some of their tapes." Leeza figured out loud.
When she arrived, Dr. Miles met her at the front desk. He gave her the grand tour of the facility, filling Leeza in on all the results of their research and agreeing to lend her the videotapes. Finally, they reached the dolphin tank. The doctor introduced her to Trix, the subject of the dolphin research. Trix made her way over to the tank wall, screeched and splashed some water onto Leeza's jacket. She grinned and said "My, she is playful!"
As the video crew took the tapes, packed up, and left, Dr. Miles said "I think she likes you. In fact, I get the impression Trix wants you to come in the water and play."
"You're kidding, right?" replied Leeza. "Besides, although I would love to, I didn't bring a swimsuit and I didn't see any wetsuits in this place."
"Well, you're right about the wetsuit part. Money's tight, so the staff who go in the water bring their own swimsuits and wetsuits from home." responded Dr. Miles. "But I wasn't kidding about Trix. I can tell what dolphins like, and right now, Trix likes you."
"I was just thinking," asked Leeza, "if I wanted to swim with Trix, wouldn't I need a permit or something. Of course, you could be pulling my leg about Trix actually wanting me in the water."
"Ordinarily, you would need a permit, but as director of this facility, I can grant waivers. So, yes, Trix would like you in the water, and yes, you are free to go in." replied Dr. Miles.
"Great! Why don't I head home, and come back tomorrow with my swimsuit?"
"One problem. We're closed tomorrow and Monday, we go to our working schedule with no visitors from the press. I'm afraid it would have to be today or never. It's up to you, but remember, a swim with a dolphin can be a once in a lifetime experience..."
Leeza thought for a moment. At first, she considered going to the local business district and shopping for something better suited for getting wet. True, it was too late in the season to find swimwear, but sportswear such as a leotard, unitard, or a top and bike shorts would do. Failing that, even a cheap T-shirt and jeans would be sufficient. Then she remembered the detour on the way to the center. The cop directing traffic told her that the main street was closed for emergency repairs to fix a leaky gas line. That meant all the stores in that area would be closed for safety reasons. It was about twenty miles to the nearest open mall. By the time she got there, found a parking space, fought the mall crowds and bought something, and returned, it might be too late. So that option was ruled out.
Then Leeza considered other options. She briefly (for about a millisecond) thought about going au naturel. Trix wouldn't mind since Leeza learned from Dr. Miles' lecture that many materials, even the heaviest wetsuits (and the skin beneath) are as transparent as glass to dolphin sonar, so Trix wouldn't be sensing anything new. But the fact that Dr. Miles was present nixed that idea. Stripping down and swimming in only her bra and panties seemed like an option, but Leeza wasn't sure how translucent they would turn in the water and, with Dr. Miles around, she would be afraid it might be too revealing. "Wish I wore my black ones today..." Leeza thought.
"Dr. Miles, I would really love to do it, but I can't! I'm not a skinny-dipper and I wouldn't feel comfortable swimming in just my underwear. And I can't go in dressed like this! My suit would get ruined!"
"Would it?" Dr. Miles asked. "Look at where Trix splashed you. Does it look ruined to you?"
Leeza looked at the drying damp spots on her jacket. The fabric seemed none the worse for the experience. "Thanks, Dr. Miles," smiled Leeza, "I think I can do this now."
Leeza then proceeded to remove her shoes and jewelry (so there would be no sharp edges to hurt Trix), then went to the ladder. She then slowly climbed into the water. The warm water felt surprisingly good againt her pantyhose covered legs. The next step down soaked most of her skirt. Then she ran out of steps on the ladder and lowered herself down until the water rose over her jacket and blouse. Leeza quickly dunked her head under to complete the soaking. Then Trix swam over and scanned her with dolphin sonar. With the introduction out of the way, the two new friends began to play.
As she was frolicking in the water and being towed by the dolphin. Leeza thought this "clothed swim" business isn't half bad. In fact, it was rather fun. What really felt nice was the way her clothes moved, especially the way her skirt rode up almost to the top of her thighs and her now untucked blouse came up to reveal a trim, bare midriff. Feeling uninhibited, Leeza decided to have some more fun and dove headfirst beneath the surface.
Dr. Miles watched as Leeza plunged under the water, her blonde hair flowing while she headed towards the bottom. Her skirt drifted almost to her hips and revealed her panties (surprisingly enough, still opaque, not translucent as she was dreading earlier). The blouse was now translucent and clearly revealed her bra. Her jacket trailed behind like a cape. As she ascended to the surface, Leeza put her arms back and let the jacket slide off. Trix retrieved the jacket and brought it to Leeza on the surface, who then set it on the side of the tank since it was easier to swim without it. Leeza then considered removing her blouse also, since it was too translucent to conceal anything and it was obvious that her bra was just as opaque as a swimsuit top would be. But she decided to leave it on as some protection from the sun, so she just unbuttoned it and knotted it around her chest.
By now, Dr. Miles was overheated and Trix laughed in amusement, fascinated by the spectacle of Leeza enjoying her discovery of wetlook and amused by Dr. Miles' reaction (which bordered on drooling).
The time eventually came for her to get out and get going. She picked up her jacket, untied, and buttoned up her blouse as Dr. Miles came walking over (in a somewhat odd manner) with some towels. Leeza towelled herself off and soon, with the aid of a late afternoon breeze, dried enough that she wouldn't damage the seat in her car. Checking the time, she couldn't believe she was in the water that long. But it was the most fun she had in a long time and well worth it, no matter whether or not her suit survived. Leeza then returned the towels, said thanks and goodbye to Dr. Miles, and left.
During the entire trip home, she couldn't stop thinking about her fun discovery of the world of wetlook and wondered when and where she would be able to do it again. "Maybe it could be a show topic," said Leeza to herself. "Nah, the world isn't ready, but I'm fairly sure my husband is..."
THE END
By Nemesoak
In an effort to boost the sagging ratings of the CBS "Early Show", the network decided to send two of the show's personalities on a "meet and greet" trip to an island resort in New England. Jane Clayson, the show's hostess, was of two minds about it when she heard the news. While she enjoyed the idea of a trip, the thought of spending it with Bryant Gumbel dampened her enthusiasm. Ever since the show started, Gumbel was always on Jane's case about something, and now the network wanted her to go on a trip with that conceited ass.
However, things started to look up for Jane. She heard that Gumbel couldn't make the trip for some reason. Now, Jane wondered who would be his substitute. Mark McEwen, the show's entertainment reporter, wouldn't be bad. He was smart (did well on "Jeopardy" once) and was a likeable guy. However, Mark was out in Hollywood interviewing some people about a movie. The question was soon answered when it was announced that Julie Chen, the woman who read the news on the show, would take Bryant's place. "That's cool." Jane thought. She and Julie were friends.
The weekend came and the women took a ferry to the island. Jane was wearing an off-white jacket, skirt, and a white blouse. Julie wore a similar outfit, but her's was dark blue with a white blouse. Since it was a very muggy day, they both decided not to wear pantyhose. Not a big deal, since cameramen hardly paid any attention to their legs. Once there, they set up and did their "meet and greet". Afterwards, they even taped some stories where they visited interesting spots and talked with interesting people on the island for use on later programs.
After exploring the island, the two women got their bags and went to the ferry landing to await the return of the ferry to take them back to the mainland. However, there was some commotion at the docks. Jane asked "What's happening?"
One of the locals answered "The ferry caught fire. Fortunately no one was on board at the time and the firefighters on the mainland were able to extinguish it quickly. But, there will be no ferry service till Monday at the earliest".
This was a problem. Both women had to be back by Sunday at the latest. Jane got out her cell phone and called her bosses to inform them of their plight. The network told Jane in no uncertain terms that there was no money in the budget to hire a helicopter to get them off the island. But they still had to be ready in time for Monday's show. Slamming the phone shut, Jane and Julie realized that they had to solve this puzzle on their own.
At that moment, a voice from behind said "Hi, ladies! What's the problem?" It was Troy, one of the local businessmen they interviewed. Julie then told Troy of the ferry and their travel requirements. "Relax," Troy assured them, "we can sail back on my boat."
Jane replied "That's nice, but we don't have too much money with us, so I'm afraid we can't pay you much for the trip."
"No need." Troy responded. "It's on the house! Meet me at the marina."
Jane and Julie soon arrived at the marina and Troy took them to see his boat. What a fine boat it was. It was at least 45 feet long and had all the conveniences. This was going to be a very comfortable trip.
Troy got onboard and he helped the women get on the boat. It was obvious that he was giving a tiny bit of extra attention to Jane, since she was single, while Julie sported a ring on her finger. After a quick untying of lines, the engines started and the boat began the trip. The two women then retired to the cabins, which were air-conditioned, to sit out the voyage in complete comfort.
Getting comfortable, Jane and Julie removed their jackets and were enjoying some cold drinks. At a bit past the halfway point, it happened. There was a strange noise and the boat came to an immediate halt. The women raced out of the cabin to see what was wrong, but all they could see was Troy looking over the engine. "Damn pump!" he muttered. "Now, we're stuck out here."
Jane, a bit frantic at the news, exclaimed "Call the Coast Guard!"
Troy replied "Yeah, and get robbed on the towing fee? You see, since this is not a life-threatening emergency, they'll refer me to the towing company they have dealings with. I know those guys and they overcharge. I have a better idea." With that, Troy walked over to the radio and contacted someone, evidently a friend, and told him the situation.
"I'm kind of busy right now," the voice on the radio explained, "but I'll get out there some time tonight and should have you at the mainland by morning."
"That will be fine. See you then." Troy then ended the conversation. "Well, it looks like we're going to be here for a while. Unfortunately, without the engine, the only electricity we have onboard is from the batteries. That means I'm going to have to shut the air conditioning off so we have enough to work the lights and radio."
Julie argued "What about the heat today? How are we supposed to survive without the air conditioning?"
Troy looked at the water and mentioned "There's always the ocean. It's a great way to stay cool and the temperature is just right".
Julie shot back "That would be a great idea except for one thing - we didn't bring swimsuits! And, no, we are not skinny-dipping, though you would probably enjoy that."
Troy answered "What you two do is your business. I was only making a suggestion. If you want to muddle through and and try to ignore the heat, that's fine too. As for me..." Troy then removed his shoes, got on the swim platform, and dove in while still wearing his shorts and polo shirt.
Julie told Troy that she was going in the cabin to try to see how to keep the stuff in the refrigerator cool and also to enjoy the last of the cool air before it heated up. Jane was watching Troy in the water. She knew he was right about cooling off in the ocean, but she didn't have any swimwear. Her underwear might pass as a bikini, but it might be too translucent or it might send the wrong message. Jane liked Troy, but she wanted to know him better before pursuing any sort of a relationship.
Glancing at the swim platform, Jane got an idea. She removed her shoes then sat down on the platform to dangle her feet into the calm water. That way, she could get some relief from the heat, yet keep her clothes dry. As she put her feet in the water, she realized Troy was right. The water was perfect. By now, she was practically kicking herself for not bringing a swimsuit. If only she had thought...
Troy, seeing Jane sitting on the platform, struck up a conversation. After discussing likes and dislikes, Jane thought Troy was a rather nice guy and maybe worth dating - after this situation was over. At one point, Troy asked "How long can you hold your breath?"
Jane replied "Huh? Maybe almost a minute. I don't know."
Troy answered "I can do a shade over three minutes."
"No way! You're pulling my leg!"
"While I would love to do that in the literal sense and pull you in with me, I won't. However, I can really hold my breath that long. Why don't you watch me?"
"I can't time you," Jane explained, "since I'm not wearing a watch."
Troy piped up "That's okay. I'll use mine. Now, 1-2-3" Troy then went into a deadman's float with his head submerged. At the one minute mark, he raised his hand as a time signal.
Meanwhile, Julie was getting out of the cabin and looked towards the water. She saw Troy floating face-down and feared the worst. Kicking off her shoes, Julie leaped onto the transom in a single bound, then dove into the water, still in her blouse and skirt.
Hearing the commotion, Troy surfaced just as Julie reached him. "Couldn't resist, could you?"
Julie angrily shouted "No! I thought you were drowning and tried to save you! What the hell is going on?"
Troy explained "All I was doing was giving Jane a demonstration of my breathholding skill. If you had only asked Jane first, you would have saved yourself some trouble. But, I bet you are feeling much cooler now."
As she was treading water, Julie realized Troy was right. She did feel much more comfortable in the water than she did on the boat. But there was much more. She had never gone swimming like this before and the sensations were new. She could feel the water moving in her blouse and also the blouse moving against her slender body. Her skirt was bobbing at nearly upper-thigh level and caressing her legs. This was fun. Then Julie realized her outfit might be ruined. But nothing could be done about that. She then glanced down and was shocked. Her blouse had gone totally translucent and her white bra was clearly visible. Instinctively, she crossed her arms across her front, nearly slipping underwater in the process.
"Relax." Troy responded "Have you seen what they wear to the beaches around here? What you have on there would be considered very conservative. And then you have your translucent blouse blurring the details and ensuring that there is no show-through. Curiously, you actually look better in the water like this than if you were wearing a real swimsuit. I guess it is the spontaneity and the 'naughty' aspect."
Julie lightened up and let her arms go back to helping stay afloat. She thought about what Troy said. She did look great. Her slicked-back hair combined with her Asian features only added to her unexpected beauty.
However, Julie still wanted to get back at Jane for not telling her about Troy's stunt. But how? Going up and pushing or pulling her off the swim platform wouldn't work. Besides, Troy wouldn't do that. He was trying so hard to impress Jane, so he wouldn't lay a hand on her. There had to be a better way. Then Julie got an idea. She turned to Troy and said "Want to have some fun?"
Troy replied "Sure! What do you have in mind?"
"Just follow my lead..." Julie then swam to the platform and climbed out, with Troy coming up behind.
Seeing this, Jane started to leave. "Don't worry," Troy assured her, "we won't push you in. I am not going to touch you without your consent and I won't let Julie shove you either."
Jane responded "That's a relief. I was afraid I was going to get a dunking. You two are not going to drip on my outfit or make me sit in a wet spot on the platform."
Julie answered "No way. In fact, we aren't even going to stand on the swim platform." With that, Julie stood on the transom, leaped out, and did a cannonball into the water. The jump had the desired effect and the splash hit Jane. Jane was surveying the huge wet spots on her outfit when Troy did his own cannonball. Since he was a bigger person, the splash was much bigger and the front of Jane's outfit was soaked.
Looking over her wet outfit, Jane said "You win." and then she slid herself off the swim platform into the water. Her outfit behaved in a similar fashion to Julie's and, like Julie, Jane panicked when she realized her blouse went translucent too. However, seeing Julie swimming around totally unconcerned put Jane's mind at ease. The water felt wonderful and the sensation of her clothes rubbing against her body were new, exciting, and very pleasant. If only she had known about this sooner...
Troy told Jane and Julie "Since it was my breathholding stunt that was the start of all this, why don't I teach you two how to improve your skills in this area?" Jane and Julie, who were now starting to enjoy their unplanned swim and getting accustomed to swimming in their suits, found the idea appealing. After a few short exercises, our two heroines almost doubled the amount of time they could spend submerged.
With their newly improved skill and now that their eyes were getting used to the salt water, Jane and Julie went free-diving in the clear ocean with Troy. Troy was admiring the view of these two lovely ladies frolicking underwater and trying simple aquabatics. By now, Jane and Julie's blouses became untucked and started moving around, revealing generous amounts of trim midriffs. Their skirts were also in motion and occasionally revealed a very brief glimpse of their panties.
Meanwhile, the ladies were sizing up Troy. His polo shirt accentuated his build and the shorts rode up a little to reveal a tiny bit more of his muscular legs. Already, fantasies were running through Jane's mind about what she and Troy would do if they were out here all alone...
Troy soon swam back to the boat and got onboard to check things out, while the ladies continued their swimming. Some time later, the wind started to pick up and clouds started appearing. "Ladies!" Troy shouted "Time to get out of the water!" Heeding his advice, Jane and Julie quickly made for the swim platform and climbed out. As they emerged, their wet outfits clung to their slender bodies very closely, revealing their figures completely.
"That was fun!" Julie exclaimed. "Now, how do we rinse the salt off of our clothes? I assume that the showers are turned off like the air conditioning."
Troy looked at the now overcast sky and answered "Wait."
Within seconds, the sky opened up and a torrential downpour began. Seeing what Troy meant, Jane and Julie stood and let the rain rinse them off. Since this storm was the result of a cold front, the water was very cool, almost cold. But, with the way Jane and Troy were feeling, a cold shower was what the doctor ordered.
Troy looked around and wondered aloud "When is that bilge pump going to kick in?" With this heavy rainfall, it was inevitable that some of it would wind up in the boat. If this rain continued for too long, and if the pumped failed, they'd be in big trouble. But, just as the rain began to subside, the pump kicked in and pumped out what little of the rain made it to the bilge.
With the rain over, Troy went inside and came back with two towels and two bathrobes. Taking the towels, Jane and Julie dried off the best they could. Then they grabbed the bathrobes and went into their staterooms to get out of their wet outfits. Hanging their clothes to dry, the women exited the staterooms clad in their somewhat oversized bathrobes.
Troy was waiting for them with some sandwiches and drinks. "The best I could do for dinner, I'm afraid. But after today's swim, I'm sure you're both hungry." The trio then eagerly devoured the meal.
By now it was dark. Since Jane and Julie work on a network morning show, their bodies were on a different schedule, and since there was nothing to do, they decided to hit the hay. As Jane fell asleep, her dreams were of aquatic fun with Troy.
Morning came and so did a loud knocking on the door. "Ladies! Wake up and get decent! We'll be arriving at the dock soon!" The tow boat arrived late last night and was now pulling Troy's boat to the dock on the mainland. Jane and Julie found that their clothes had dried and appeared none the worse for the experience. They quickly got dressed and were ready when the boat arrived at dock.
As they got out of the boat and were walking down the dock, Troy suggested "How about breakfast - my treat?" Soon, our trio entered a nearby restaurant and had breakfast. After the meal, Julie turned to Troy and said "Thanks for helping us out. We had a great time and you were a perfect gentlemen." She then gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and walked back to her car.
When Julie left, Jane went up and thanked Troy. "I had an excellent time! If you are in New York, here's my number" Jane handed him a piece of paper. "Also, I plan on coming back here on vacation. Perhaps we can have some more fun. I have a few outfits at home that you might like to see me swim in."
"I'm looking forwards to it!" responded Troy. Then they kissed goodbye and Jane went back to her car, all the while anticipating what wet adventures she might have with Troy when they next meet.

Starring Julie Moran
It was early fall of 1998. As is often the case, the weather was still quite summer-like, even a bit on the hot side with temperatures in the mid-80's. So it was on the day that Julie Moran of "Entertainment Tonight" arrived at a secluded beach. A swim in the ocean was not on her planned agenda for the day - she was there for business. Julie was on assignment to do a segment on an upcoming film "The Return of Oannes".
This was a rather unusual film in that it was being made soley to promote the then-new technology of DVDs to the studios. It would feature multiple languages, multiple endings, research on the Oannes myth, and many other new features. The plot of the film revolved around Oannes, a fish-man from Sumerian mythology appearing in the present day to warn mankind of an environmental catastrophe. This news upsets some evil corporate types, and a race is on between the environmentalists who would publicize the message and the corporations who would silence Oannes. Today, the beach scenes would be shot.

Once at the beach, Julie and her taping crew approached the set. When they arrived, Julie heard a voice from behind her say "What's a girl like you doing at a shoot like this?"
Turning around, Julie saw that it was her husband, Bob Moran. Bob, an actor, had a part in this production. He was playing one of the evironmentalists who help Oannes escape from his corporate captors. "Hi, honey." Julie replied and then she gave him a quick kiss. "Do you know where the producer and director are?"
"Yeah, they're standing over by the cameraman over there. You know, you could interview me too..."
"Nah, they wouldn't go for it. They's say I was being too cute."
"That might be, but you sure look great today. Nice outfit. Well, I guess I'll see you later then."
"You will. After I get the interviews, I'm off for the rest of the day, so I'll hang out here and come home with you." "Hope you don't get bored. Bye."
Julie then walked off and headed over to speak with the producer and the director. Bob was right, Julie did have a rather nice outfit today. Not as dressy as the business suits on "ET", but nice enough that she could wear it on the show any way. It consisted of a very dark red sweater-like blouse with a nice low neckline, a black just-above-the-knee slit skirt with the slit going halfway up her thigh, and a set of nice dressy pumps.
She soon located the two men and started her interviews. The producer spent most of his segment touting how "The Return of Oannes" had many features made possible by its being a DVD-only production. He also said he hoped that these features, especially the multiple plot twists and endings could be used in future films.
When interviewed, the director went on more about the pro-environment plot and the film's message that there is still time for people to clean up the mess pollution has made in the world. He also told Julie that he was aware that the main purpose of the film was to showcase DVD technology, but he said he wanted to do a good film in the hopes that it would someday be released to the public.
Having interviewed the directors, Julie went in search of some of the actors. The first one she located was a well-known character actor who played the evil CEO of a chemical company who tries to have Oannes killed. He told Julie about his opinions on the environment, which were far different than those of his character and also related a few behind-the-scenes anecdotes (mostly practical jokes he pulled on the director).
With that interview finished, Julie was looking around and quickly saw the man she *really* wanted to interview. It was the handsome, muscular actor (Julie's favorite kind) who played Oannes. For the purposes of this story, let's call him Jim. Julie wasted no time in getting over to meet Jim.
Seeing Julie, Jim responded "Hi! You're Bob's wife. He's told me quite a bit about you. You certainly look lovelier in person than on television."
Smiling, Julie commented "Thanks. Now, let's get to the actual interview."
"Sounds okay to me."
The first thing Julie noticed and commented on was the fact that Jim was still dressed in the Oannes costume. "Wow, that's some costume!" Julie mentioned.
"Sure is. This isn't your father's 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' suit. It is actually what divers call a 'dry suit' and it has been made to look like a very believable fish-man. We had some comparative anatomy guys from a college as well as a Sumerian history scholar help with the design. They left no detail out. It even looks like some kind of fish skin, but it is not slimy at all."
"Mind if I..." Julie asked.
"Go right ahead." With that, Julie started running her hand down his arm, only partly interested in how the suit felt. He was right. Not slimy at all. And Julie was quite pleased with how well built his arm was too.
"The suit is impressive, but what about what you wear on your head?" Julie inquired.
"Glad you asked. Actually, there are two headpieces that we use, which one depends on the type of scene. And here they are." Holding up the first one, he continued. "This is the one used for the underwater scenes. As you can see, it is really a diving helmet sort of like those the divers use on the offshore oil rigs. It is made to look like Oannes' head. Also, there are two air hoses going into it. We digitially remove them in post-production."
"Nice..." commented Julie.
Setting down the first one, Jim held up the second and explained. "This is the one we use for scenes on land. It has animatronic features which are controlled by these two puppeteers. With these features, You can get mouth motion and a full range of facial expressions. Very lifelike. Want a demonstration?"
"Sure."
The two puppeteers came and did their stuff while Jim was holding the helmet. The expressions were truly lifelike, just as advertised. "Hey, I got an idea for something fun to do. Why don't I put on this headpiece, then you can interview me in character? That is if the puppeteers don't mind and you and your crew have no objections. In fact, maybe we can even use the footage on the DVD."
Everyone agreed and the Oannes interview began. It was rather fun and Julie quickly got into the spirit and almost forgot she wasn't talking to a real creature. It was all done in one take and was definitely a "keeper".
"While we are in this mood for fun, I have another idea for a fun shot. Julie, would you mind if I carried you? You look light enough."
"I suppose..." Julie replied, "but remember that I am wearing a skirt today. I don't want to show off my panties on television - again."
"Huh? What do you mean by 'again'".
Julie explained "Well, back in May of last year (1997), I was riding with my husband in a parade. We were sitting in a float or something. I had on a short white dress. At any rate, there was this cameraman taping the parade, my float in particular. He was positioned in a certain way and saw right up my skirt. Very embarassing, since I didn't find out until the segment aired on 'ET'. By then, it was too late to do anything about it."
Jim replied "I see. Don't worry. I won't let anything like that happen to you here. You're my friend's wife and I have to look out for you. Here is what I plan on doing. I'm going to carry you and wade into the ocean a little bit..." "Please don't throw me in or anything like that!"
"Relax. I am not going to toss you. But as I am walking into the water, you can shout your traditional segment closing line. After that, I'll turn around and we'll go back to the beach. You won't be in the ocean at any time." "Sounds like fun."
They then walked over near the edge of the water. In one quick move, Jim scooped Julie up in his arms, holding her very securely and making extra sure her skirt didn't do anything revealing. Once that was done, Jim started walking into the ocean. When the water was nearly hip deep on Jim, he stopped and Julie exclaimed "Julie Moran for 'Entertainment Tonight'!".
Jim then walked back and gently let Julie down on dry land. "That was fun!" Julie commented. The cameramen concurred.
"How about we try that again, but using an over-the-shoulder fireman's carry?"
"Okay."
This went pretty much as it did last time. However, as she was being carried, Julie was able to touch the water with her fingertips. "Nice and warm..." she thought, "too bad I didn't bring a swimsuit..." Even after her two clothed swim adventures (chronicled in "Wet Charity" and "The Accidental Pool Party"), the thought of just going for a swim in whatever she had on did not naturally occur to her for some reason.
Once back on land, Julie was thanking Jim for a fun interview. Jim also thanked Julie for being such a great sport and willing to have a little fun. The interview taping crew was leaving and Julie thought her work was done when she heard a voice shout "Ms. Moran!"
The voice was that of a somewhat paunchy, balding man in a business suit. Julie recognized him as an executive from Paramount Studios who mainly worked in the film division. He did visit the set of "Entertainment Tonight" a few times and that is how he knew Julie. But what did he want on this set?
The producer and director also approached. Then the executive spoke. "Wanted to tell you guys that I think you're doing a fine job. The production is slightly ahead of the schedule in fact. But the reason I stopped by was that I was giving some thought on how to fill some of the extra space on that DVD thingie. Then it hit me. Goodies! You know, those stupid bloopers and throwaway bits some filmmakers show during the credits."
The producer commented "Sounds like a great idea, but we have been doing the scenes in one or two takes. We don't have many bloopers. Sorry."
The executive smiled and said "No need to apologize. Doing things the right the first time saves money which is always good. How about a little skit? We could even use the skit as a teaser to plug the film to the execs."
The director asked "Do you have anything in mind? I'm trying to tell this story in a straight manner and I see nothing in it that would lend itself to a skit."
"But *I* saw something that would do the trick!" answered the executive. "That 'in character' interview Julie did with what's-his-name, you know, the one who plays that lizard thing..."
"You mean Oannes."
"Yeah. We could use an interview like that."
"Well, you're in luck. We can simply take the ET footage and use it. Nice and simple." explained the director. "No! I saw the interview. The questions and answers were good, but the setting was boring. How about an underwater version?" asked the executive.
The producer thought for a few seconds and commented "We might be able to do that. We can have the folks in post-production digitially change the background to an underwater scene and electronically distort the voices. Should work."
"You're missing the point!" growled the executive. "Just a change of background won't cut it. I want an *actual* underwater interview! After all, you do have underwater cameras and you know that Oannes getup works underwater. All you have to do is shoot an underwater scene with Julie."
"Hold on a second!" Julie yelled. "I'd do it, but I didn't bring a swimsuit..."
The producer added "Another problem. We don't have any wetsuits her size in wardrobe. They're too big and would look awfully baggy. And we can't lend her any spare clothes out of wardrobe either. Julie is at least a good four inches taller than our actress, and her stuff would look too absurd on her. What if we shoot it tomorrow?"
With a slightly ticked-off expression on his face, the executed stated "Unacceptable. That would eat into the schedule too much. Julie, you just go in wearing what you have on now. It would look great!"
Julie was shocked. However, her memories of her two previous aquatic adventures were coming back. It would be fun, especially with a stud like Jim as her swimming buddy. But, she realized that she mustn't let her enthusiasm show. If word got out to the wrong people that she found clothed swimming to be very enjoyable, it could be a source of great trouble. Better to play it very cool.
Julie asked "But what about my clothes? I'm sure they'll get ruined! Besides, I didn't bring anything to change into! Please reconsider!" It was all part of her ruse, of course.
"Julie. Need I remind you that I'm one of the people bankrolling this project and also that I work at Paramount - like you do. Also, remember that helping the company is conducive to a happy career, get the hint?"
"But, my clothes! I bought these with my money! And now you want me to ruin them for the company."
"Julie, don't argue. If it will help, I'll give you a check to reimburse you. How is $1000?"
Julie was astounded, but didn't let it show. That figure was far more than her stuff was worth, several times over. Things were getting better all the time."
"Okay, I'll do it." Julie responded. The executive wrote the check and handed it to Julie, who put it in her purse. The scene was set up. Julie would be shown walking along the beach, wondering aloud where Oannes was. Then she found a note, supposedly from Oannes, telling where the interview would take place - a short distance offshore. Julie then looked around to make sure the directions were right, then she started to walk into the water. Her shoes were submerged almost instantly. However, these shoes must have been made of a different material than the ones in her previous swims as they seemed to react to the water a little differently.
Julie continued wading in, walking on the firm sand bottom. As the water started to reach her skirt, she subtly adjusted her stride and how she held her hands to try to control the ride-up. Julie did not mind showing off her legs (most of the times she loved to do that), but she didn't want to give that executive that satisfaction. Another few steps and the water was waist-level. It felt great. Then, a few more steps took her into chest-deep water. As she launched herself forward and started to swim, she could feel her blouse become exceptionally clinging, more so than anything else she ever wore in the water. An unusual sensation.
A short distance out, they stopped filming and Julie was met by Jim and some of the technical people. "Just a few things to go over before we start the underwater segments. Julie, since you aren't a diver, follow our directions carefully. This dive will be very shallow, but you still have to be a little careful. Since you can't speak underwater, just mouth the words. We can loop in distorted dialogue later. Now, since you seem naturally buoyant..."
"That's the first time anyone has ever said that about me." Julie commented.
The safety diver continued "As I was saying, since you do seem a bit buoyant, it is going to be a challenge keeping you near the bottom for the segment. And with the way your blouse is so clingy and the nature of your skirt, concealing weights would be difficult."
Jim mentioned "How about attaching some weights to her back when she gets down there? We're not going to be shooting any shots of her from the back so no one will see them."
"Sounds doable. Jim, get down there. And don't look up. We don't want to embarass Julie."
Jim replied "No problem with that.". Then he put the diving helmet on and made his way to the bottom.
The safety diver yelled "Okay, let's get a shot of Julie at the surface diving down. Ready?"
"Ready!" responded Julie. The camera rolled and Julie said "This is the place. I guess Oannes means on the bottom." Then Julie took a deep breath and dove down, trying to make sure her dive wasn't too revealing. A few seconds later, Julie surfaced, her long hair slightly darker and slicked back.
"Excellent!" exclaimed the safety diver. "That was great. Now, we shoot you swimming to the bottom. Don't worry, I'll be by you, out of the frame, at all times. Also, we're going to be careful how we shoot, ready to change the angle should your skirt move and expose too much. I don't want to give that executive that kind of fun any more than you do. One more thing. When you are down there, just mouth the words. Then, take a breath off the regulator. That's it."
"Thanks." Julie replied. Then she and the safety diver went down. It was a short swim to the bottom and Julie was moving quite gracefully. Her skirt did slide a bit, but was no more revealing than a micro-mini. Once on the bottom, another diver hooked some weights to the back waist of her skirt. He guess the required weight correctly and managed to compensate for Julie's buoyancy.
Julie then sat on a fake rock and a simulated current was turned on behind her to make her hair move a bit. "Very relaxing," Julie thought as she also admired how realistic Jim's costume looked underwater. She then mouthed the first question, a bit clumsily since she wound up swallowing more seawater than she would have liked, but she carried on. The safety diver handed her a regulator so she could get a breath. This routine was repeated several times, each time Julie got a bit more proficient at simulating talking underwater. Soon the "interview" was over and it was time to say goodbye. Jim waved farewell, and Julie launched herself towards the surface. Actually, she tried to, but the weights prevented her from going up - the intended purpose.
The second diver removed the weights while the main safety diver grabbed Julie and slowly took her to the surface. On the way up, the diver signed for Julie to exhale. Once at the surface, Julie asked "Why did you have to lead me? I could have made it myself."
"For safety. When you took those breaths off the regulator, you were breathing compressed air. Even though we were no deeper than the bottom of a deep swimming pool, you still had to be careful coming to the surface."
"Oh." Julie replied as Jim, the other diver and the cameramen joined them on the surface. After they all thanked Julie for doing such a great job, they decided they needed a surfacing shot of Julie where she would exclaim her sign-off line. She took a very deep breath and dove down, almost to the bottom. She then rapidly ascended and surfaced, almost leaping out of the water. "This is Julie Moran for 'Entertainment Tonight'!"
Then, the whole group proceeded to swim towards shore. Just as Julie got into shallow water, her husband walked on the beach and saw Julie wading back. "You can't seem to stay out of the water, can you?" he exclaimed.
"Honey, I can explain..." Julie replied playfully. When they were all back on land, Jim and the other crew explained the situation and praised Julie for doing such a good job.
Looking approvingly at how Julie's soaked clothes clung to her body, Bob said "Where did that executive go? While you look great, I don't like the idea that he *made* you do this..."
"Honey, don't. That would only get us both in trouble. Besides, I got him to pay me to do it. He gave me a check for a thousand!" Julie replied with a smile.
Jim then asked Bob "Julie seems such a natural at this. Has she done it before?"
"What, swimming?"
"Not exactly, I meant swimming in an outfit like that. I've done some underwater scenes with actresses before and most seemed a bit ill at ease about it, but not Julie."
"Yes, she has." Then Bob gave Jim an edited account of Julie's two previous aquatic adventures. "She seems to have developed a flair for that kind of thing."
"I was wondering, Julie," Jim asked "since you are soaked already, would you be interested in trying out an invention of mine?"
"What is it?" Julie asked.
"I invented some new goggles. They are far more streamlined than anything else out there. Really good for racing swimmers. I thought you might like to try a pair."
Before Julie could respond, Bob asked "Got a second pair to try? Seeing Julie like this has put me in the mood." Bob then removed his watch, wallet, and shoes and put them back in his on-set trailer.
"I do." In a few minutes, Jim produced two of the new goggles as well as diving fins. Julie removed her shoes, which appeared to be in somewhat less than good shape, and put on the fins. Bob also did likewise. They then put the goggles on and entered the ocean. The goggles fit like a dream and were nowhere near as bulky as conventional goggles.
Bob and Julie soon got out into deep water. At the surface, Julie asked "Isn't swimming with me now going to hold up the shoot?"
Bob answered "Nah, it's not. The last shot of the film was earlier today. It was this scene on the beach where Oannes escapes to ocean. There is this big fight with the bad guys and I had the stuffings beat out of me, as you can see from the damage to my shirt and the dirt on my pants. So, it's no big deal for me to be out here. Still, I feel a bit bad for your outfit. It looked nice, but it looks sexier now."
"You're no slouch in that department either, honey!" Julie responded. "But now, let's see how these goggles work underwater!" Julie then took a breath and dove down, with Bob close behind.
Under the surface, Julie and Bob were pleasantly surprised by how fast they could swim with the fins on. The goggles were working perfectly and they could see everything crystal clear. Once they got accustomed to things, Julie and Bob were playing around underwater like dolphins, only surfacing for breaths.
At the surface, Julie was catching her breath and commented "That was fun! Even if my outfit is ruined, it is well worth it!"
"Well, if it is," Bob mentioned, "maybe we can see if we can lengthen that slit and see if you can swim even better..."
"Hey!" Julie yelled "I don't have anything to change into! Besides, it *may* not be ruined after all. So don't try it!" Bob said "Okay, then. But do you know what I really like about these new goggles?"
"What?"
"They allow us to do this..." With that, Bob embraced Julie and they both submerged. Then they kissed, something the new goggle design allowed them to do naturally - unlike standard goggles. As they were kissing, the embrace got tighter and more passionate. They were really having a good time. But, they needed a breath, so they surfaced while still embraced.
Bob said "That was incredible! I was wondering if maybe we could..."
Sensing where Bob was going, Julie replied "I don't think that would be a good idea. We're still too close to where people are. It might be fun to do, but I don't want to get in trouble."
"I suppose you're right. How about a roll in the surf like they did in that movie?"
"Fine, if you want to spend the rest of the day cleaning off sand. I think we better head in for shore." Julie and Bob then swam to shore.
Once on shore, they located Jim to return the goggles and fins. "Keep them as my gifts!" Jim told them. You two seem to have enjoyed them." Then Jim handed them a slip of paper. "These are some websites you might find interesting." he explained. "Who knows? You might even find some inspiration."
Bob then talked with the wardrobe supervisor. They informed him that the clothes looked salvageable, at least enough that Julie could wear them for the trip home, but the shoes were going to be a tough call. Then, Bob joined Julie and they went into his on-set trailer. "I was talking with the wardrobe people and they tell me that they can dry our clothes for us. That way, we'll have dry things to wear when we go home." After Julie and Bob removed their outer clothing, Bob looked at Julie in her undergarments and commented "Good thing your skirt was well-behaved for your swim. It would have been even more revealing than that parade incident. What you have there leaves nothing to the imagination."
Julie shot back "Hey! I wasn't planning on a swim today. Besides, I could say the same about you. What a fine day for you to wear briefs. They don't do much in the concealment department either." But they didn't stay upset and both Julie and Bob had a laugh over it.
After changing into robes, Bob handed the wet clothes off to the wardrobe people. "Well, here we are, stuck in this trailer for a while. After all, we can't go out wearing just robes. It is going to be a boring wait." he told Julie. "Oh, I don't know..." Julie replied "I could think of a way to pass the time..."
"That could work..." Bob responded.

(a Jayne Middlemiss story)
I've finally found the time to write another story - this one features Jayne Middlemiss, host of the BBC pop music show "The O Zone". Enjoy!
"Hi! I'm Jayne Middlemiss, and this is The O Zone, from the club capital of Europe, Ibiza!"
"Cut! Sorry, Jayne, we're still having problems with the sound. Let's do it from the top..."
Jayne sighed quietly. She knew she shouldn't complain - how many other people got a free trip to Ibiza as part of their job? All she had to do was walk across the rocks, with the sea in the background, and deliver a few lines to camera, but it was proving more difficult than anyone had imagined. The TV crew had experienced all manner of technical problems, and the situation wasn't helped by the fact that the usual gloriously sunny weather had completely failed to materialise. Instead it was oppressively hot, humid and overcast, and tempers were becoming more than a little frayed. Returning to her original position, Jayne tried again.
"Hi! I'm Jayne Middlemiss, and this is The O Zone, from the cab clupital of.... ohh!" She sank her face into her hands as the words got the better of her tongue.
"Cut!" The director looked up at the rapidly darkening sky. "Look, can we try and get this done before the rain comes on?" he asked, sarcastically.
This didn't help Jayne's mood at all. She was boiling hot, and beginning to wish she had worn something lighter than the calf-length, figure-hugging pink dress which was sticking to her in a most uncomfortable way. "Alright, alright," she muttered, resuming her position once more.
"Hi! I'm Jayne Middlemiss, and this is... eeeep!"
The director looked on in disbelief as Jayne finally caught her foot in the rock pool she'd been trying to avoid for the past twenty minutes, lost her balance, and disappeared from shot. "Cut! Are you alright?"
Jayne pulled herself up from an undignified heap into a sitting position. "Yeah, I think so," she replied, "I've just got a wet foot." She took off her black sandal, shook most of the water out of it, put it back on her foot and sighed. "Shall we try again?"
"Yeah, let's get on," said the director, looking anxiously at the sky. "We're losing the light, and I'm sure the rain isn't far away..."
Now wearing one wet shoe, Jayne squelched back to her starting point and began again. "Hi! I'm Jayne Middlemiss, and this is The O Zone, from..." She delivered the rest of the line flawlessly, but it was drowned out by the first peel of thunder. "I don't believe it!" she groaned.
"Cut!" A flash of lightning lit up the sky. "Jayne, we're not going to get this done in time. Let's take a break and see if it blows over."
As much as she wanted to get the shoot over with, Jayne was glad of the break. As the crew began to throw plastic covers over the equipment, she began to make her way back across the rocks to the shelter of a nearby bar, where the promise of a cool, refreshing drink awaited her.
She had barely taken two steps when she felt the first drops of rain. "Great," she thought, "I come all the way to Ibiza and it rains!" She looked up. The bar was still a few hundred yards away, and the rain was getting heavier, and beginning to leave dark spots on her light pink dress. She quickened her pace, but in vain, as the heavens finally opened and deluged her with water.
Jayne squealed. She hadn't seen a rainstorm like this in a long time! Her first instinct was to run for shelter, but the rain was making the rocks slippery and she didn't want to fall over again and risk hurting herself. There was little point anyway, as the rain was already beginning to seep through her dress. Within a minute, the thick cotton was saturated, and Jayne was literally soaked to the skin.
"I might as well be under the shower," she mused. As this thought took hold, she began to slow down. She had been hot and sticky, and would have taken a shower anyway - the fact that she wouldn't have showered fully clothed wasn't really relevant! With this in mind, she stopped walking and began to enjoy the rain. It was at exactly the right temperature, not too cold, yet coolly refreshing, and the fact that she still had her clothes on added an element of spontaneity to the proceedings. Jayne untied her hair and tilted her head back, allowing the rain to run down her long, dark hair and onto her shoulders, where it soaked into the fabric of her dress until it dripped from the hem onto her feet and shoes.
She snapped out of this train of thought as she realised that the director was staring at her. Jayne looked down at herself and gasped. She thought her dress had been figure-hugging before, but now that it was drenched, it clung to every curve of her body as if it were painted on. What's more, although it hadn't gone completely transparent, the outline of her underwear was clearly visible, and the director had obviously noticed!
Self-consciously, she pulled the sodden dress away from her body in an attempt to stop it clinging so tightly. The director suddenly realised he'd been staring and quickly looked away, but he couldn't help looking back. "Jayne," he said, "you look fantastic, we have to use this!"
"What?" Jayne screeched. "Have you gone mad? You want me to go on television with my clothes soaking wet and my underwear on full display?"
"It's no more revealing than that bikini you were wearing yesterday," the director reasoned, "and it's also much sexier."
"You think so?" Jayne considered the idea. She couldn't deny that there was less flesh on show than the scenes she had filmed the previous day in a particularly skimpy bikini. "Well, I suppose I could, but the rain's stopping now," she pointed out. "I'm going to look stupid standing here drenched when it's not raining."
"True," agreed the director. "We'll do it in the sea instead. Just wade in to about waist level, dip yourself under, count five, then come up to the surface and say the line. Perfect."
Jayne wasn't quite sure how she had got herself into this situation, but she obediently turned around and walked across the wet sand towards the sea. As she reached the water's edge, and the waves began to lap around her shoes, she looked back to make sure the director wasn't playing some kind of practical joke, but the crew had set up the cameras and were already filming her. She turned her head back to the sea, and strode in.
As she waded in up to her knees and beyond, she became aware that the submerged section of her dress was no longer clinging to her, but was in fact floating around her, swaying to and fro with the movement of the sea. It was a feeling she hadn't experienced before, but the feeling of freedom, combined with the sense of rebelliousness she got from being in the water fully clothed, made her heart pound with excitement. A huge grin spread across her face as the water swept past her thighs and up to waist level.
Turning round to see a thumbs-up signal from the director, Jayne took a deep breath and submerged herself. The once clingy dress took on a life of its own as the water took hold of it. Reveling in the feeling, she counted to five very slowly, smoothed down the front of her dress and stood up.
Water cascaded from the top half of her body as it emerged from the water. Pushing her soaked hair back out of her eyes, Jayne looked to camera and announced, "Hi! I'm Jayne Middlemiss, and this is The O Zone, from the cap clubital..... d'oh! Sorry, I'll do it again..."
Jayne giggled to herself as she sank beneath the water again, wondering just how long she could drag this out without making it look suspicious...
The warning klaxons were blaring at Stargate Command in Cheyenne Mountain when the gate was activated. Stepping from the wormhole were the members of SG-1 (Col. Jack O'Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Major Samantha Carter, and Teal'c) with their hands behind their heads. Following close behind were some men in primitive islander garb pointing spears at the SG team. Another two islanders were seen carrying large sacks.
After Col. O'Neill instructed the soldiers by the gate to stand down and lower their weapons, the leader of the islander group approached General George Hammond (commander of the SGC) as the two men lowered their sacks.
"As promised," said the chief of the islanders, "we have returned your people. We are a civilized group or we would have killed them on the spot for what they did."
"I thank you for returning them." replied Gen. Hammond. "What's with the sacks?"
"The sacks contain your team's weapons and equipment. We've sent all of it back except for that big thing that moves on its own. We are not thieves." The chief gave an order and the sacks were carefully emptied.
Hammond then asked the chief, "Since you seem like a reasonable man, let us negotiate and see if we can settle this problem. I would like to have a peaceful relationship with your world and hopefully my people can mine that special rock on your island."
The chief answered, "You, General, seem to be a reasonable man. I will negotiate, though I doubt we can come to any agreement since your people sickened Fishbringer. Your agreements won't send fish to our fishermen."
The other islanders left back through the stargate as the chief headed to a meeting room with Hammond and the SG-1 team.
At the meeting, Hammond asked "How did our people hurt your Fishbringer? I don't recall them doing anything hostile over there."
"That's what I asked them!" interrupted Col. O'Neill.
The chief responded "General, how do you put up with that man?"
"Well, he can be a bit of a trial at times, but he has brought results in the past. As you were about to explain..."
"Yes. True, your team did nothing hostile. They were interested in those poisonous rocks because they contained something called 'nah...' whatever. But shortly after they arrived, Fishbringer became very weak and ill. The two events must be related. Your people may seem nice, but have a bad influence. Therefore, I demand that you make that thing of yours move back to this location. Then I will return and my people will bury the gate and you will never trouble us again."
Before Hammond could respond, Dr. Janet Frasier entered the room with some reports. She was dressed in her standard uniform with a white lab coat as well as a dark blue knee-length uniform skirt. Frasier then sat down at a vacant seat at the table.
"General, I have the reports on SG-1's last check-up. They were disease-free. There was no way they could have made anyone sick."
The chief noticed Dr. Frasier and asked Hammond, "Who is this woman?"
Hammond answered "She is Dr. Janet Frasier and she is responsible for all the medical work on the base."
Turning to Dr. Frasier, the chief asked "Are you a healer?"
Dr. Frasier responded, "You could say that. If someone here gets sick or hurt, I help them get better. I'm not perfect, but I think I do a pretty good job at that."
The chief thought for a second and stated, "General, there might be a way to redeem your people. If Dr. Frasier can cure Fishbringer, we can then negotiate with you."
Hammond responded "Sounds good to me. Dr. Frasier, get kitted up and ready to go."
The chief bellowed "No time. She must come now!"
As Dr. Frasier was glancing down at her uniform, Major Carter said "Don't worry. It's warm over there."
Hammond then called on the intercom and asked that a medical kit be brought to the gate room. The meeting was dismissed and everyone went to the gate room.
The gate was reactivated and Dr. Frasier took her kit. As she and the chief walked towards the gate, the SG-1 team followed, assuming they would be coming too. The chief turned and yelled. "You stay here! You've done enough damage! We are only allowing Dr. Frasier to come with us."
"I'll be fine!" Dr. Frasier told SG-1 reassuringly.
Then the two stepped through the gate and arrived on the alien planet.
"You can stop gripping my hand." Dr. Frasier said. "We're through the gate now. Yes, I know gate travel can be a little unsettling, but it isn't scary."
"Sorry." the chief replied.
"Just one thing to take care of first." Frasier mentioned. With that, she walked up to the front of the MALP (the remote-controlled recon robot) and informed General Hammond that she arrived safely.
"Very good. Check in tomorrow or when you finish, if that's sooner."
"Will do." The gate then deactivated.
The chief stared at the MALP, wondering what it was. Then he asked "How come that thing talked like General Hammond?"
"Because that was General Hammond's voice." The MALP - this object here - is just a machine. It isn't alive. It's made out of metal. The voice was General Hammond talking into a device which sent his voice to a speaker on the MALP. The MALP moves because of motors controlled by someone at the base. Go ahead, touch it."
The chief tentatively touched the MALP. Nothing happened. "I see, not so scary after all..." he said.
"Even though many of our things seem magical," Dr. Frasier explained, "they're not. There are rational explanations. Now, there is this group of bad people called the Goa'uld. They use things people like you don't understand to trick them into believing the Goa'uld are gods. But we won't try to trick you. Now, where is this 'Fishbringer' individual?"
"Come with me." answered the chief.
A walk of a few minutes took the pair to the village. It looked like a primitive Hawaiian village from a movie. "Which hut is the patient in?" asked Dr. Frasier.
"Fishbringer doesn't live in a hut. We will soon be where he is." The chief motioned and two men came and followed them.
After walking several hundred yards on the beach, they stopped. The chief pointed out to a spot in the water and said "There is Fishbringer. He has been listless and weak since your people showed up. Hopefully you can cure him."
Dr. Frasier was scanning the spot, about fifty feet offshore. Then, she saw what the chief called Fishbringer. It was a whale-like creature, as long as the trailer of a tractor trailer rig. As she was planning what to do next, the chief said "I have things to take care of. These two will assist you. I wish you luck."
As the chief walked away, Dr. Frasier glanced at her uniform, then at the two islanders. "Damn! Why couldn't they be non-humanoids?" thought Dr. Frasier. If they weren't humanoid, she thought, she could simply strip and do all the in-water work au naturel. No big deal. But, since these were two human males with her, that option was out of the question.
Figuring that there was no other way to do it, Dr. Frasier proceeded to remove her rank pins from her uniform (she didn't want any sharp metal edges on her when she worked with Fishbringer). Then she removed her shoes. She considered removing her white lab coat, but decided to keep it on in case her uniform top and undershirt became translucent in the water.
The two men who had been quiet all this time, noticed Dr. Frasier's feet. One of them asked, "Are your feet okay? It looks like there's some stuff on them?"
"Oh," Dr. Frasier answered, "they are normal. What you noticed is my pantyhose."
"What?" asked the islander.
"Pantyhose. A kind of leg covering women on my planet frequently wear when they wear a skirt. Now, Major Carter usually wears pants, so she didn't wear pantyhose when she was here. Since you are probably wondering, the answer is this high." With that, Dr. Frasier put her hand at her waist.
Handing the pins to one of the islanders, Dr. Frasier explained "Take these. I will also hand you a piece of paper. If anything happens to me, take them through the stargate and give them to General Hammond. That way, he won't think you did anything to me." Then she scribbled a quick note and handed it to the man. He put the items in a safe place and stood ready to assist Dr. Frasier.
Dr. Frasier then walked to the water. Putting her feet in, she was pleasantly surprised by how warm the ocean was. A few more steps and the water was up to her knees. Then the next step soaked the hem of her skirt. Once over the initial shock, it felt delightfully naughty. She continued wading out further, the water climbing higher on her skirt and the skirt slowly rising.
She approached a slight drop-off. The water was now only up to the middle of her thighs, but the next step would take her in up to her waist. After a second of hesitation, she took the step. The sensation was amazing and quite pleasant. Her lab coat was starting to trail behind her. A few more steps and the water was up to her chest. It felt wonderful. Dr. Frasier had to work a little to conceal the emotions she was experiencing. She also hoped her two assistants weren't getting turned on by the view. It could be embarrassing and troublesome if they did.
Finally, she got to where she could not touch the bottom. Dr. Frasier then swam out to the whale to begin her work. As she was swimming, the sensation of the water moving in and around her clothing was incredible. She wished she had done something like this sooner.
After a short swim, Dr. Frasier and the two islanders were by the creature called "Fishbringer". The creature appeared listless and hardly noticed the visitors.
Turning to one of the islanders, Dr. Frasier asked "Can you tell me what happened with Fishbringer?"
"Well, Doctor," the man responded, "The day your friends stopped by, he stopped eating and began to grow weak. We thought it was nothing at first, but he grew weaker. Soon, he got to this spot in the shallows. You have to help him! He sends the fish into our nets!"
"Relax," replied Dr. Frasier. "I will do what I can... what is your name?"
"Anno" replied the islander. "My friend over there is Kona."
"And you can call me Janet. After all, treading water in the ocean isn't formal, so we don't have to be."
Janet then swam over to Fishbringer and touched him. The skin seemed okay. Then, Janet started swimming around the whale, all the time looking for wounds, lesions, abnormal growths, anything out of the ordinary. Fishbringer turned out to be in good shape externally, even better than many of his terrestrial counterparts which had white growths on them.
All the while, Janet was savoring the feelings and sensations of swimming in the warm ocean in her uniform. If Anno and Kona were turned on by the sight, they did a good job of concealing it - something very difficult given the wrap-style garments they wore.
"Guys," Janet said, "It seems that your friend here has nothing wrong with him on the outside. Did you see anyone go near him?"
"No." replied Kona. "Your people didn't even go near the beach. They were interested in those rocks. The closest they ever came was when they visited the chief."
Janet then said "Now, what does that tell you?"
Anno answered "That means your people had nothing to do with it."
Janet responded "Correct. What is causing Fishbringer's problem is something natural. We just have to find out what it is. I have an idea. Can you people communicate with Fishbringer? Get him to do something?"
Kona replied "Yes. We can get him to do some simple things. But he has to want to do them."
"Good enough for me." said Janet. "Get him to open his mouth wide. I'm going to check him out."
Kona uttered some words and made a gesture. Fishbringer complied and opened his enormous mouth wide. After seeing there was enough room for what she wanted to do, Janet took a deep breath and went under. With her light brown hair streaming behind, Janet went inside the mouth of Fishbringer. Looking around, she saw what looked like serrated railroad spikes - Fishbringer's teeth. Janet almost gulped as she realized that this creature could cut off an arm or a leg with no effort. Finally, in the dim light from the outside, Janet saw something significant.
Where Janet thought the throat should be, she saw a large black object. A careful touch of the object revealed that it was part of a log. Evidently, while Fishbringer was eating, a piece of driftwood got into his mouth and lodged in his throat, keeping him from eating. It was apparently wedged in tight since that muscular tongue was unable to dislodge it.
Carefully exiting the mouth, Janet surfaced. Getting her hair out of her face, she announced "I believe I have found the trouble. There is a piece of driftwood lodged in his throat. It's stuck, but I think we can get it out. Anno, go to the village and find a rope. Kona, you can tell Fishbringer to close his mouth. No need for him to hold it open while we wait."
Anno swam back to shore and headed for the village. Meanwhile, Janet was actually starting to admire how she looked in the water. Her skirt was now bobbing a few inches higher and revealed more of her lovely legs. Most of the men at the SGC would agree that she had somewhat nicer and shapelier legs than Major Carter, but they wouldn't say it publicly. Her lab coat was more like a cape as it floated behind her. Glancing down, she was glad she was wearing an undershirt. If she wasn't her bra would have been quite visible through her now translucent blouse.
A short while later, Anno returned with a rope. After checking the rope and seeing that it was long enough for her plan, Janet explained "Here is what we're going to do. After we get Fishbringer to open his mouth again, I'm going to dive down and tie the rope around the log. Then, you two are to start pulling gradually. I will help gradually work it loose. That should be enough to remove it and Fishbringer will be back to normal."
The islanders got Fishbringer to open his mouth. Janet grabbed the rope, took a deep breath, and dove down. She then got inside Fishbringer's mouth.
Once inside, Janet wasted no time in tying the rope around the log. The irregular surface of the log made the task much easier. Once this was done, Janet gave two tugs on the line (the agreed-upon signal) and her assistants began gently pulling as she tried to gently loosen it.
Fortunately for Janet, Fishbringer seemed to sense that all this was being done to help him. After a few seconds more of effort, the log was clear and quickly pulled out.
A few seconds after the log was removed, and before Janet could do anything, Fishbringer's mouth snapped shut and all was dark. Since she felt no pain, she knew that creature's teeth didn't touch her. But she was still trapped. Then, things got worse.
Janet noticed that Fishbringer was moving, very rapidly. As she was trying to keep from being Fishbringer's next throat obstruction, Janet was trying to figure out how to escape before she ran out of air. Out of desperation, she had an idea.
Even though, she seemed restrained by something, Janet got into position and used her foot to tickle the roof of Fishbringer's mouth. This had the desired effect and she was pushed out into the sea by Fishbringer's tongue.
But Janet's problems weren't over yet. When Fishbringer closed his mouth, his teeth went right through the trailing portion of Janet's lab coat. Now, she was trapped by it as Fishbringer began diving deep for food. With a strength that comes from facing imminent death, Janet ripped the offending garment off and tore it from Fishbringer's mouth before he could choke on it.
As she let the torn lab coat go and sink into the depths, Janet began to swim to the surface. But her air was almost exhausted. It would be a matter of seconds before her drowning would begin. Unable to contain it any longer, Janet released the stale air from her lungs.
But, before she could inhale anything, she felt something that she couldn't be sure of. However, instead of water filling her lungs, she was gasping loudly at the surface.
As she was trying to resume normal breathing, Janet noticed she was resting against something. A quick touch told her it wasn't a sandbar or gravel bank. It felt more like an inner tube. Then it dawned on her. It was Fishbringer. Evidently he sensed that she was in trouble and raised her to the surface.
"Thank you, big guy!" Janet exclaimed as she patted Fishbringer. Fishbringer responded by a low frequency sonar pulse. The frequency was just right to resonate inside Janet's body, producing a curious, but very pleasant and arousing sensation. "Stop it!" Janet called out playfully. "You might embarass me!"
Fishbringer seemed to keep a close watch on Janet, wanting to make sure she was all right. Janet was astounded. This big creature which could injure or kill her with only a tiny effort was treating her very gently. She then decided to start swimming for shore. The beach was almost a mile away, but Janet believed she could make it. A few seconds after she started swimming, Fishbringer made a gesture to her. It was apparent that Fishbringer wanted Janet to climb on his back.
Surprised at the offer, Janet said "A ride sounds like a very good idea now." She then swam over to Fishbringer and tried to get on his back - not an easy task since the creature had no pronounced dorsal fins. Also complicating matters was that Janet was unable to straddle the creature's back, even though she was trying to get on a narrow portion to the rear. After a few seconds of study, Janet concluded that her skirt was the problem, since it was kind of narrow. She tried hiking it up, but it soon fell back down. And discarding it completely was not an option since she would have to go back to the village when she got ashore. However, there was one solution that could work.
Glancing down at her skirt, she noticed the tiny slit in the rear. Janet undid her skirt slightly and rotated it so the slit was now facing the side. She did up the skirt and grabbed the hem on both sides of the slit. She hesitated for second, but realized that being in Fishbringer's mouth and being out in the ocean probably ruined the garment anyway. Besides, even if her clothes were completely ruined, it would be one of the cheaper exploits of the SGC. Most of the time, the SG teams lost guns and other expensive equipment. So, she gave a sharp pull. No visible result. Another series of pulls ripped the slit up to the top of her thigh. With her legs now much freer to move, Janet got onto Fishbringer for the trip back.
Fishbringer covered most of the distance in a few minutes. Evidently, he was swimming a little slower so Janet wouldn't be knocked off. As they were nearing the shore, Janet noticed a canoe (similar to those used by the Polynesians) heading her way. She gestured for Fishbringer to stop, then dove off his back in a perfect racing dive in the direction of the canoe. Janet proceeded to swim a short distance and was helped aboard the canoe.
When Janet returned to shore, there was a group of villagers waiting. As she stepped onto the beach, she was greeted by wild applause. "You did it!" yelled the chief. "And Fishbringer has honored you, as will we! You have redeemed the reputation of your people."
Janet just stood there silently, almost blushing since she was standing before them soaked to the skin in a torn skirt. Her shirt was untucked and her hair was slicked back. A few huge runs were visible in her pantyhose, evidently from when she got on the canoe. She thought she looked a mess.
Regaining some composure, Janet turned to the chief and asked "Is there anywhere I can rinse off the salt water? Then, I'd like to get some rest."
The chief responded "Please call me Ameha. Fishbringer considers you a trusted friend. This is the first time we have ever seen anyone being carried on his back. As for your question, follow me."
Ameha and Janet walked a distance inland from the village. "Will this do?" asked Ameha. They stood by a waterfall which fed a freshwater lake. It was a beautiful place.
"Yes!" answered Janet. "It's lovely." Ameha motioned Janet to follow him into the lake. They both waded in. After Janet had to make a short swim across the middle (that part of the lake was too deep for someone as short as she was to wade across), they approached the waterfall. The water was shallow, only about waist-deep on Janet, and they stood under the cascade.
Stepping behind the curtain of falling water, Ameha told Janet, "I want to thank you for all you did today. Fishbringer performs a vital service by sending fish into our nets."
"You're welcome." Janet replied. "Just doing my job."
"Would you mind..." asked Ameha. Janet just gave an approving gesture, not totally sure what Ameha wanted. The chief put his arms around Janet and began to kiss her. anet initially thought about resisting, but realized that Ameha wasn't some lust-crazed nut, but honestly felt affection for her. Janet then responded in kind. It had been years since any man shown affection to her and Janet almost forgot how enjoyable it was. They stepped a little to the side and were back under the waterfall. A few seconds later, they lost their footing and slipped. Almost instantly, they surfaced, laughing like crazy.
Indicating she wanted to leave, Janet left the lake with Ameha close behind. As they were returning to the village, Janet stopped and said "The MALP!"
"What?" asked Ameha.
"That machine by the stargate. I have to report back to the base soon or they will start to think something happened to me. But, I can't stand in front of the MALP camera looking like this. I look a mess!"
"No you don't. I think you are very beautiful."
"All the more reason. Can you imagine how the guys at base would react? I have to work with those people."
"I see. I think I have an idea."
Soon, Janet was at the MALP site, ready to activate the gate and send a message. Ameha came and was carrying a small bowl and a spoon. "How is that going to help?" she asked.
"Watch." replied Ameha. With a flick of the spoon, he splattered a thick white semi-liquid squarely on the MALP's camera lens. "If anyone at your base asks, say it is just bird droppings."
"I get it. Very clever." Janet then activated the gate and stood near the microphone.
"Frasier to base" Janet said.
"Good to hear from you." General Hammond replied over the speaker. "Were you able to cure the patient?"
"Yes. It was simpler than I thought. However, I will have to stick around for a few days to see how he is doing."
"Understood. How come we are getting a dark blob on the MALP video telemetry?"
"General, a bird took a dump right above the MALP. We'll have it cleaned up by the time I'm ready to go home."
"Good job. Hammond out." The gate deactivated and the MALP shut down.
That task accomplished, Ameha and Janet walked back towards the village.
When they arrived at the village, Ameha took Janet to one of the huts. "This hut is for you." Ameha said. "Get some rest. We will be having a feast in your honor tonight."
"Thanks." Janet replied, then she entered the hut.
The hut wasn't really luxurious, but it was less primitive than she expected. The interior was like the huts on the old "Gilligan's Island" show, complete with a hammock. On the hammock was a large piece of material. Janet instantly identified it as some kind of sarong, the same as worn by the women of the village. Before she could do anything else, there was a knock at the door.
Answering it, Janet discovered it was one of the women from the village. "Thank you for saving Fishbringer!" the woman said. "I can wash that outfit for you. Make it nice and clean."
Janet was impressed by the generosity. But, she realized that if she just let it dry, it might be salvageable (except for the torn skirt). If she let them try to launder it, it would be ruined. Her uniform was not meant to be washed under primitive conditions. However, if she turned down the generosity, it might offend the villagers. Figuring that good relations with these people was worth far more than her uniform, Janet agreed - partially. She would let the women clean the skirt and blouse, but she would hang her undergarments to dry in the hut. "Okay." Janet told the woman. Getting out of view of the woman, she quickly removed her blouse and skirt and reached over to hand them to the woman (all the woman saw was Janet's arm).
After the woman left, Janet removed and discarded her ruined pantyhose and hung the rest of her stuff to dry. Then she got in the hammock and put the sarong over her, mostly for modesty, since the air was perfect temperature and a soft breeze was blowing through the window. Janet soon dozed off.
A few hours later, Janet awoke. She had to get ready for the feast in her honor. The perennial question that women have pondered prior to social events surfaced again - what to wear? Janet thought the way the local women wore their sarongs was a bit too daring for her. Her blouse and skirt were not back yet. Then, she had an idea. She put on her now-dry undergarments. Then she put on the undershirt as sort of a blouse. Folding the sarong to increase it's thickness (and to make it more opaque), she then wore it as a wrap-style skirt with the hem a few inches above her knees. Her improvised fashion looked pretty good. Now, it was off to the dinner.
The dinner was a great success. The food was delicious. A few hours later, as the dinner came to a close, Janet turned to Ameha and commented, "This is a beautiful place."
Ameha replied, "It is. I am glad you enjoy it."
"I do. I also feel we must protect it."
"Protect it from what?" Ameha asked.
"If we aren't careful, my people might try to change things. I enjoyed the places, like the waterfall, that you shown me. But I don't want everyone running all over them. I like them the way they are."
"I understand, Janet. What do you have in mind?"
"I propose that we limit the visitors to this island to just extracting the rocks. Only people who are invited will be allowed to visit the village."
"I like that idea. It's been a long day. Good night." With that, Ameha gave Janet a kiss. Then, they went back to their respective huts.
When she got up the next morning, Janet discovered that her uniform was waiting for her. She also found that the primitive washing techniques managed to remove the buttons from the blouse. "Oh well," Janet thought. "But it was worth it."
Dressing up the same way she did for the feast, Janet left the hut. Her task for the day was to locate Fishbringer and see how he was doing. She knew that he was probably doing fine, but she wanted to make sure. Walking along the beach, some distance from the village, Janet looked out to ocean to look for any sign of Fishbringer's presence. Some time later, her persistence was rewarded when she saw a dark form surface in the distance.
Janet yelled "Fishbringer! It's me!" Fishbringer had excellent hearing and a good memory to match. He swam closer to shore, coming to a stop about 200 feet out.
Janet considered swimming out to Fishbringer as she was, but she decided to try something a little different. She removed her undershirt and sarong skirt. "Well," Janet thought, "since my bra and panties look like a bikini, they should work like one too." After putting her shirt and skirt in a safe place, Janet entered the water and swam out to Fishbringer.
Soon, Janet reached Fishbringer's location. As she was treading water, she noticed that her undergarments were still opaque, not translucent as she was half-dreading. "Too bad, I didn't know this yesterday." she thought. "Would have saved my uniform." She also realized that she didn't have to go out and buy swimwear (which might draw the attention of the people on base) for any future visits to this world.
Fishbringer noticed Janet's presence and gave what sounded like a low frequency rumble. Evidently it was a friendly greeting. "Now, big guy," Janet said, "I have to see how your throat is healing. It will only take a few seconds. Also, let me get out this time before you close your mouth." She then repeated the gestures the islanders did yesterday to get Fishbringer to open his mouth. When Fishbringer did, Janet took a deep breath and dove down.
Feeling more confident than she did a day before, Janet swam inside and looked. Though her vision was a bit blurry underwater, she could see that the irritation was healing faster than she thought it would. Satisfied, Janet quickly swam out and surfaced.
"You're doing quite well." Janet told Fishbringer. "You should be back to normal by tomorrow." A few seconds later, Fishbringer submerged. He then almost immediately surfaced directly under Janet, lifting her out of the water.
"So you want to play, huh?" Janet commented. Then she jumped back in the water. Soon she was playing in the ocean with this enormous creature. Yet, despite his enormous bulk, Fishbringer was quite gentle and delicate in his play. Janet was having a great time. It was more fun than she had in years.
Then, Fishbringer stopped his activities and emitted a very low frequency sound, which was more felt than heard. Janet wondered what that was for. Her question was answered in a few minutes when other dark forms appeared. At first, Janet was concerned that they might be some kind of shark, but her fear soon proved groundless. The dark forms were others of Fishbringer's species. The water was soon filled with low frequency sounds of several kinds. Evidently Fishbringer was introducing Janet to his friends. Then the other creatures swam over to Janet, scanned her, then proceeded to play.
Soon, Janet started to get tired. The creatures could sense it too, and they started leaving. Fishbringer swam with Janet, escorting her to shore. Three-quarters of the way back, Janet spotted Ameha on the beach. She waved to him and he entered the water to meet her.
After they exchanged a greeting kiss, Ameha asked "What's this outfit?"
At first, Janet was embarassed, but she quickly realized that the bikinis she wore to public beaches in her college days showed much more skin than what she had on now. "Oh, this?" she answered, "It's something I had on under my uniform."
"Why didn't you swim like this yesterday?"
Janet calmly replied "Two reasons. First, I was afraid that this would become see-through. I didn't know it wouldn't. So, I figured the uniform would keep me covered properly. Secondly, I was afraid of getting my two helpers too excited."
Ameha commented "You had nothing to fear from Anno and Kona. I told them you were under my protection. If they had done anything improper to you, they would have been severely punished. But, they are good men, so they would not have bothered you anyway."
"Thank you." replied Janet. "By the way, Fishbringer is doing fine. In fact, he is healing faster than I thought."
"Well he did have a good healer."
"You're sweet!" said Janet. Then, she and Ameha started playing underwater. Janet was amazed at how Ameha's garment didn't seem to move at all while they were swimming.
A short time later, the couple exited the sea and rinsed off under the waterfall. After drying out, they returned to the village for dinner.
While enjoying dinner, the local shaman wanted to speak to Janet. Janet was a bit apprehensive. She had read lots of stories where a doctor visiting a primitive village is perceived as competition by the local shaman and is treated with hostility. But, this shaman was quite friendly and expressed an interest in learning more about medicine. Janet gave him a few tips and promised to teach him more on future visits.
Several hours later, Janet went to bed. Tomorrow, she would return to Earth. This made her a bit restless, as did the moonlight from two moons shining into the hut. Then, Janet had an idea. After a quick look around the village to satisfy herself that everyone was asleep, she headed for a secluded section of beach and took a moonlit swim. As compared to her other outings, this was a rather traditional-style moonlit swim except that there were two moons. But she got used to that quickly and enjoyed the experience. A short time later, she exited the water and returned to the hut unseen.
The next morning, Janet awoke and got dressed. Putting on the uniform blouse, she decided to tie it shut, since the buttons were gone. To her surprise, Janet discovered that her skirt shrank somewhat. The long slit she tore in it kept it from being too tight, but the hem was about three inches shorter. She then reattached her rank pins and put on her shoes.
After leaving the hut and getting a sack from the natives, Janet then got some of the naquita ore and put it in the sack. The sack was then placed on the MALP. Once the gate was activated, Janet, Ameha, and the MALP entered and arrived at the SGC on Earth.
General Hammond and the SG-1 team were waiting for them. As soon as they arrived, General Hammond asked "What happened to your uniform? It's a disgrace!"
Before Ameha could rebuke Hammond for that remark, Janet answered, "Damaged while I was curing Fishbringer, Sir. But I think you'll find what is in the bag on the MALP to be worth the destruction of my uniform."
Hammond walked over, took the bag, and pulled out a chunk of ore. "You're right about that, Doctor! Good job." All the while, Daniel Jackson was trying to be discreet while not taking his eyes off Janet. He never saw that much of her before. Jack O'Neill seemed to notice Janet's appearance, but seemed to be containing himself. Whether that was out of being a gentleman or due to the fact that Major Carter was also there couldn't be determined. Teal'c had no reaction whatsoever. He was dedicated to doing his duty and nothing could distract him. Major Carter was curious, especially seeing how happy Janet looked, about what went on during that mission.
Janet announced "I think Ameha, the chief, wants to discuss some matters concerning the ore." Hammond then ordered everyone to the conference room.
At the meeting, Ameha stated "After discussion with Janet... I mean Dr. Frasier, I have decided to allow your people to take the ore - but under certain conditions."
"Which are?" Hammond asked.
"First, your mining operation is limited to removing the rocks. Nothing more. All processing is to be done off the planet."
"We can live with that." replied Hammond.
"Second, try not to make a mess of the area."
"Okay."
"Also, none of the mining crews are to go to the village or beach unless we invite them. Dr. Frasier told us how disruptive too many visitors could be. And I believe her."
"I suppose we can do that. It would be a small price to pay for the ore."
"Finally, Dr. Frasier is to be the only Earth human authorized to negotiate with us. As a result, she will be allowed to visit the village any time she likes. She can also bring one guest with her if she wants."
"That is a rather odd request..." commented Hammond.
"It is not a request!" said Ameha. "It is a condition. Either you agree with it, or we bury the gate!"
Hammond thought for a second and responded "Well, we do need the ore. It beats taking it from the Goa'uld. Okay. I accept."
"Good!" replied Ameha. Turning to Janet, he asked "Could you show me more of this place?"
"I'll have to get permission from General Hammond, but I think it's possible" Janet replied.
Daniel Jackson interjected "He does come from a non-technological culture. So, he would pose no threat."
Hammond said "Okay." Everyone then left the room.
Janet and Ameha walked to the infirmary. "This," Janet said "is the base infirmary, where I work."
"It's amazing! All this stuff..." Ameha commented.
"Just the tools I use. Now, let's give you a check-up."
"Huh?" asked Ameha. "I'm not sick."
"I know," Janet replied. "But, there are certain things I know we would like to do in the future. I want to make sure we can do them without getting one of us sick. I'll run some tests. If it will make you feel better, I'll run some on myself. That way, we will both be certain there will be no problems."
The physical was a success. Ameha was in perfect health and disease-free, much to Janet's delight. Ameha soon left and returned to his world. Later that night, Janet was thinking about all the fun she had with Ameha and was wondering when she would return to his world for another visit. "This time," she thought, "I'll be prepared."

Note to readers: This, as well as the other "Stargate" stories are in response to a request by noted aquatic artist Troy Tempest.
It was several months after the events chronicled in Janet's House Call. The mining agreement was running smoothly and both sides were satisfied. Today was more quiet than usual at SGC Headquarters in Cheyenne Mountain. There were no SG teams off-world. As for SG-1, O'Neill was on leave in Minnesota, Tea'lc was at the Pentagon giving a briefing on the status of the Jaffa rebellion against the Goau'ld, and Daniel Jackson was in Peru studying some ruins.
Things weren't totally quiet though. General Hammond had scheduled a meeting with Dr. Frasier (who was essentially Earth's representative when it came to dealing with the islanders) to discuss how to reward the islanders for living up to the mining agreement. At the appointed time, Dr. Frasier arrived at the meeting room, as did Major Carter. They went in and sat at the table with General Hammond.
"You have to admit," said Hammond, "that these islanders have been the most pleasant people we have ever dealt with. No problems at all. I think we should reward them. Maybe some technology."
"Well, they have little need for technology and even less interest," stated Frasier, "but I have identified two areas where we could help them."
"And they are..." asked Hammond.
"Communications and sanitation." replied Frasier.
"Sir," Carter chimed in, "I believe that I can ask the Tok'ra if they can spare some of their waste disposal technology. It would be better for the environment if we did that rather than try to set up a system like ones we use."
"Sounds like a good idea," replied Hammond. "But, can someone tell me why they would need communications technology? It's not like they have electricity..."
"I wasn't talking about communications amongst themselves, Sir," explained Frasier, "but rather a means to communicate with us. The way things are now, if they wanted to get in touch with us, they would have to activate the gate and toss a seashell through. The shell would smash against the iris, we would detect the calcium residue. Then, we would open the iris and send someone through. If all they wanted to do was ask a question, it would be quite a hassle for them and us."
"What are you suggesting, Doctor, that we give them a GDO and a radio like an SG team? I don't think so. We can't risk a GDO falling into the wrong hands." stated Hammond.
"Sir," Carter explained, "There is no need for a GDO. The MALPs don't have GDOs and we can get telemetry from them."
"What are you driving at, Major?"
"We have a couple of wrecked MALPs in storage, some with working communications systems. I think we can remove the communications gear from one of them, set it up on the planet and have the natives use that to talk to us."
"I think that could work. Good idea, Major."
"Sir," Carter continued, "we're going to need to build a shelter for the system, as well as a way to charge the batteries. MALP components are not designed for permanent outdoor function."
"Get what you need." answered Hammond. "One more thing... should I have SG-4 come with you to help."
"That's not necessary, General." Carter replied. "We should be able to get help from the village."
"That settles it then. Dismissed."
Two days later, things were ready to go. The communications gear, batteries, solar panels (for charging the batteries), as well as materials for a shed were packed onto a cargo hauler. Major Carter and Dr. Frasier were also in the gate room. Each was wearing a black T-shirt, fatigue pants, and combat boots. They also had backpacks containing what they needed for a couple days' stay on the planet.
"Good luck!" said General Hammond. He then gave the order to activate the gate. The gate went into action and the wormhole formed. Once that happened, Carter, Frasier, and the hauler went through the gate.
They promptly appeared on the planet. The weather was quite warm, even warmer than it was when SG-1 first visited this world. Samantha Carter said "I'll be back in a minute." and ducked behind some of the local trees. Janet Frasier wondered what she was up to, but she quickly returned. At first glance, Janet noticed nothing different, but then she saw that Sam's fatigue pants looked a bit worn and her boots looked beat-up.
"Sam," Janet asked, "what's with the change?"
"Well," Sam answered, "these are some things that got a bit ruined on an earlier mission. Since we are going to be doing a lot of heavy work, I figured I could use these as work clothes."
As the discussion ended, Chief Ameha of the islanders appeared. "When I heard that gate thing, I knew you were coming." he said as he greeted Janet with a warm embrace.
"Wow!" added Sam, "Seems you made some friends when you were here, Janet."
Ignoring the comment, Janet mentioned "You remember Major Samantha Carter from the first visit."
Turning to Sam, Ameha answered "Yes, and I am glad we are meeting under more pleasant circumstances. By the way, why have you paid a visit today?"
Sam replied "I'll field that question. We are going to set up a system that will allow you to talk to us on Earth any time you want. All the stuff on that thing with the wheels is what we're going to build."
Ameha commented "Nice. But, I think you two can use some help. I am a bit busy, but I will send Anno. He's quite reliable. See you two later." Then Ameha walked back to the village.
As the two women were unloading the cargo hauler, Anno (one of the islanders) showed up. After a brief introduction, the trio got down to work.
Anno proved to be a quick study, and soon learned enough basic techniques to be a major help. He was impressed by the metal tools and fasteners being used and asked many questions about them. But shiny metal wasn't the only thing he was impressed by. It was soon apparent that he was smitten with Samantha.
After a few hours, work had progressed as far as it could for the day, since some stuff needed to sit overnight before the shed could be finished. Everyone was quite hot and sweaty from all the work. Anno said "I'll get us something to drink." and headed back to the village.
While Anno was away, Janet said "Anno couldn't keep his eyes off of you, Sam. I think he likes you."
Sam answered "Well, he does seem like a nice guy, but..."
"Sam, I know. Everyone on the base except General Hammond knows about your feelings for Jack. But, face it. Nothing can ever come of it. You know that as well as I do. Of course, you can wait until you both are retired. But, Sam, no one is getting any younger. My advice: Give Anno a chance. You deserve it."
"Like you and Ameha, huh? You two do seem to be more than friends."
"What Ameha and I do is none of your business!" snapped Janet. "Just try what I suggested."
Changing the subject, Sam mentioned "Remember that incident some time back when the team and I had these strange and vivid dreams?"
"Yes." Janet responded.
"Well, I wasn't totally honest about my dream. What actually happened in it was that I was abducted by pirates, then I escaped and attempted to swim to shore. But I drowned." (chronicled in the story Samantha's Swim)
"Why didn't you mention this? It was very odd."
"Because I was afraid you might think I was crazy or something." answered Sam. "Besides, it got me wondering how fit I actually am."
"Sam, it was only a dream. Totally meaningless."
At about that point, Anno returned carrying containers of some kind of local fruit juice. It had a pleasant flavor and really hit the spot. Sam motioned Anno to sit next to her on the log. Anno complied and the two seemed to hit it off well, though Anno was a tad nervous. A little later, Anno returned to the village.
Janet and Sam then walked around, enjoying the island scenery. When they were on the beach, Janet said "It sure was hot working today, but there is one perfect way to cool off..." At that second, to Sam's astonishment, Janet removed her T-shirt and revealed a dark blue sports bra. Then, she undid her hair and took off her boots and fatigue pants, revealing matching briefs.
Seeing the expression on Sam's face, Janet explained "So? This still covers more than anything I wore to the beach in college. Besides, the clothes would be something of a drag. With that, Janet entered the ocean and was soon swimming.
Seeing Janet paddling around in the ocean, Sam decided to act on her secret plan. She yelled to Janet "I think you have the right idea. I'll join you."
Without removing a thing, Sam waded into the water. In a few steps, her boots were submerged and filling with water. She then continued into the ocean and the water was creeping up the fatigue pants. Soon, Sam was in water over her waist, which soaked her T-shirt and made it quite clingy. "Nice and warm," Sam thought, "much better than my previous surprise swim."
Janet, seeing what happened, realized that Sam knew about the beach all along and that this fully clothed swim of hers was to prove how good her swimming skills were, since she seemed to have lost some confidence in them after her dream.
Swimming over to Janet, Sam commented "You're right. The water is perfect."
Janet asked "Why go in with the boots and everything?" though she sort of knew the answer already.
"Look, I wind up in all sorts of unpredictable situations. I want to find out if I can handle swimming a distance in uniform. Maybe my survival and that of the team might depend on it someday. See that rock sticking out of the water in the distance? I'm swimming out to that." Sam responded.
Janet looked and saw the rock. For an unencumbered swimmer in good physical condition, it was a moderate workout, but no great task. However, Sam would be doing it in heavy combat boots and fatigue pants. Janet was concerned.
"Sam, I wouldn't do it. I'm afraid that you're just going to wear yourself out and maybe sink."
"I have to find out. We all have to be prepared for the unexpected!" Sam shot back.
"It's the dream, isn't it? Sam, you don't have to prove anything."
But Sam ignored Janet's pleas, displaying her usual stubborness. While sticking to her guns despite the odds has saved the lives of SG-1 and the world on more than a few occasions, this time, it might cause trouble. Still, Sam swam off towards the rock. Seeing no other course of action, Janet followed.
Sam was doing surprisingly well. She discovered early on that the conventional crawl stroke wasn't too effective, so she switched to a stroke where her arms did the bulk of the work, making things a little easier for her boot-laden feet. After a time, Sam made it to the rock.
"See?" said Sam. "Now I know I can make it." But, Janet could see that Sam had a harder time swimming than she claimed and appeared a bit tired.
Janet suggested "Let's rest a bit. You look a little tired."
"I'm fine. Now I'm heading back." With that, Sam pushed off from the rock with her feet and began the return trip. Janet swam besides her.
Sam was getting worn out, and by the time she was two-thirds of the way back, swimming became quite laborious. When Sam went under briefly, Janet decided action was needed and swam over to help Sam the rest of the way.
As this was happening, Anno was walking along the beach. He looked out and saw the two women. Instinctively, Anno ran into the ocean and swam out to them, covering the distance with impressive speed.
"What happened?" Anno asked as he arrived.
"It's Sam." Janet answered. "She went for a swim and overdid it. Tried to prove that someone could swim to that rock in with her boots on."
"Why would she do that?" Anno wondered.
"Because I want to be prepared in case I fall into the water on one of my missions." Sam responded.
Soon, the trio were in the shallows and Sam was catching her breath. The water was chest-deep on Sam and Anno, but almost up to the shoulders on Janet. "Sam, I think you've had enough swimming for today. Let's get out and rinse off the salt."
"How?" Sam asked. "I don't recall seeing any showers in the village."
"You'll see..." Janet replied.
The trio then headed inland and were soon at the lake and waterfall that Janet found out about on her first visit. Without wasting a second, they entered the lake and made their way for the waterfall.
After letting the natural shower rinse over her, Sam had a funny smile. "What's that about?" asked Janet.
"I was just thinking," Sam explained, "you know that bar across the street from the steakhouse? The one Jack always threatens to take Tea'lc to?"
"Yes. So?"
"They advertise 'wet T-shirt events' in the paper every now and then. Now, look at me, standing here in a wet T-shirt..."
Noticing that the contours of Sam's bra were visible underneath the clingy garment, Janet commented "But, I think you are wearing more than the women who do that at the bar." They both laughed.
After some more rinsing, they headed for the shore, Sam and Janet swimming some of the way underwater. Once out of the lake, Janet let herself dry in the breeze, while Sam headed towards the work site to check on things and get their backpacks. Anno returned to the village.
Satisfied that everything was okay, Sam got the backpacks. When she returned, she saw that Janet had put on her clothes. Taking her pack, she said "Let's go to the village."
Once at the village, Ameha met them and showed them to their huts. Janet had the same hut, close to Ameha's, that she had on her last visit. Sam got to stay in one of the newer visitor huts built since the mining agreement took effect.
A couple hours later, everyone gathered in the village for a dinner in honor of Janet and Sam's visit as well as the work done so far on the communications system. During the dinner, Anno asked Sam "Why did you swim with all that heavy stuff today?"
"Because, I wanted to see if I could do it in case I fell into the water during one of my missions. I go to a lot of strange places in my work where strange things happen." answered Sam.
"Still, wouldn't it make sense just to get rid of the stuff that was too heavy? It can't be more important than your life..."
"I see..." But Sam also thought on what Anno said. He did have a point. Uniforms were cheaper than guns and the other gear the SG teams lost with regularity. Then, Sam turned her thoughts to other matters - such as the tasty food and drink.
After a few hours of idle post-dinner conversation, everyone went back to their huts for some sleep. Janet removed her boots and got into her hammock, as Sam did in her hut. It was a cloudy night, but a nice soft breeze was blowing through the window.
Some time later, the restful night was interrupted. Janet heard a rapping on the side of the hut. Waking up, she investigated. It turned out to be Anno.
"What's wrong?" asked Janet.
"It's Sam." replied Anno. "I heard noise coming from her cabin. Thinking something got in, I checked. There was nothing else, just Sam acting like she was struggling. I'm afraid she might be ill."
"Anno, I appreciate your concern. But, she isn't ill. Sam is having a bad dream. You see, over the years, some of the bad people we fight - the Goau'ld - have hurt Sam and even tried to kill her."
"Terrible. That anyone would want to hurt someone like Sam..."
"Not only that, but there have been people who said they loved her, but only used her to get at some other goal." Janet intended this comment to also act as a warning to Anno.
"Thanks for the explanation." Anno said.
"I appreciate your concern for Sam. Now, let's get back to sleep. We have work in the morning."
Stopping at Sam's hut, Anno entered. Sam was still awake. "I heard some noise," Anno said, "and I thought you might be ill or something."
"No." Sam explained. "Just a bad dream. Happens every now and then."
"I know." Anno acknowledged. Then, he began to gently stroke Sam's back. At first, she didn't know what to make of it, but she soon figured he only wanted to comfort her, nothing more. Sam's eyelids got heavier and heavier. In less than a minute, she was fast asleep. Anno then left and went back to his hut.
The next morning, everyone got up and had breakfast. Then, Sam and Janet went back to work on the communications project. This time, Anno brought a few more men to help. With their assistance, the shed was finished rather quickly. Then, came the electrical work. While the islanders couldn't assist with the wiring, they were able to help move the heavy batteries from the hauler to inside the hut and under the table. A few hours later, everything was finished and all that had to be done was wait for the batteries to charge up. With a bright sunny day and the roof-mounted solar panels, it would take the rest of the day.
Much as they did on the previous day, Janet and Samantha walked towards the beach. Janet stripped off her shirt, fatigue pants, and boots to her undergarments - a dark blue sports bra and matching briefs which were higher cut on the legs than what she had on yesterday, which made her legs look a little longer. Janet then entered the ocean.
Sam, wearing the same ratty fatigue pants and boots she wore yesterday, waded right in without removing a thing.
"Sam," Janet said "you're not going to do that stupid stunt again, are you?"
"No way," replied Sam. I'm trying what Anno suggested at dinner last night. Swimming out a short distance, Sam glanced down at the sandy bottom seven feet below and said "This looks like a good spot." Then she took a deep breath and submerged.
Once underwater, Sam began to remove her boots. She was able to remove one before she had to surface for another breath.
"Ah, I see..." said Janet. "You're practicing how to quickly discard heavy items. That makes more sense than what you did yesterday."
"I know." replied Sam, who then dove back under to continue her exercise. After she got the other boot off, she went to the bottom and retrieved her footwear so she could practice and improve her time. Soon, after a few more tries, Sam could remove both boots on a single breath.
At about that time, Anno spotted the two women in the water and swam out to join them. "Hi." Anno said. "Sam, are you trying to that thing again today?"
"No." Sam answered. "I'm taking your advice - remove what is weighing you down. Seems to work."
"And you can swim well with your legs covered like that?" asked Anno.
"Well, I can, even though my pants do cause some drag." Then, Sam got to thinking. If she had to swim a really long distance, such drag would wear her out. But, she remembered something from her dream. How her fatigue pants could actually help her.
"Anno," Sam mentioned, "you gave me an idea. But I wish I could try it..."
Janet knew what Sam had in mind as well as why she was hesitant to try with Anno around. "Sam," Janet said, "Just do it. We won't mind. You've been through worse."
Sam realized that Janet was right. She suffered worse indignities the time she was captured by Hathor's forces as well as when that industrialist had her abducted. "What the heck..." Sam commented and went under.
In almost a single motion, Sam removed her boots, undid and slid out of her fatigue pants, revealing her black panties. Letting her boots sink, Sam grabbed the pants and surfaced. Once on the surface, Sam tightly knotted each leg and filled the garment with air. The improvised flotation device worked.
"Very clever." commented Anno. What he didn't comment on was that he was also impressed with how Sam looked. In addition to revealing her legs, her T-shirt was bobbing up a bit and revealed her trim midriff.
Sam, satisfied with her accomplishments, handed the flotation device to Anno and told him to take it ashore. Sam then dove down, retrieved her boots, and swam to shore. Once onshore, she set the boots and the flotation device on some rocks and then proceeded to remove her T-shirt - she figured "If Janet can do it..." - revealing her black bra. Then, Sam and Anno went back in the ocean to resume their swim.
As the trio were enjoying themselves in the ocean, Janet spotted a dark object in the distance - and instantly recognized it as Fishbringer, the whale-like creature she helped on her last visit. Seeing Fishbringer gave Janet an idea of a way to get back at Sam for the aggravation she caused yesterday. But she needed a little cooperation from Anno.
Paddling over to Anno, Janet whispered "Let's have some fun with Sam. Just talk to her and keep her occupied. I'll do the rest." Anno agreed and struck up a conversation with Sam while Janet swam to meet Fishbringer as it was approaching.
A minute or two later, Sam noticed the dark shape approaching Janet. "Janet!" she yelled. "Head for shore! Something's after you!"
Janet, pretending not to notice, yelled back "I don't see anything. Nothing to worry about." Fishbringer drew closer. As Sam was getting more frantic, Janet motioned with her hand underwater. Fishbringer came, grabbed Janet's hand in its lips and pulled her under.
Sam, thinking Janet was being attacked, swam to the rescue. As she approached, Fishbringer surfaced and Janet was all smiles. "Fooled you, didn't I?" she said.
"Don't scare me like that! I thought you were being eaten!" Sam yelled.
"As you can guess," Janet commented, "this is Fishbringer. He won't hurt you." Reluctantly, Janet swam closer and Fishbringer scanned her with his sonar, causing Sam to jump back with an almost embarassed expression on her face.
"Do you know what that felt like?" gasped Sam.
"Yes." replied Janet. "It's only the sonar resonating with your internal organs. That's all."
Once Sam got over her fear, she and Janet had fun playing with their friend. Anno kept a distance since he was too in awe of Fishbringer. The creature towed the women through the water, playfully lifted them out of the ocean and letting them dive off. It was almost like being in a show at Sea World. Sam was amazed that a creature so large could be so gentle with her and Janet.
Eventually, they got tired and swam back to shore. Fishbringer left to resume whatever it was that his species does.
Janet and Sam headed to the waterfall to rinse off. Sam made an impressive sight in her undergarments, which were of standard style as opposed to the more sports-style Janet wore and were therefore a tad more revealing. Janet, noticing this, commented "They're still less revealing that the bikini I had in college."
After rinsing off, Sam turned her attention to her knotted fatigue pants. "Damn it!" she exclaimed, "I can't untie this!" Calming down, she continued "Good thing these are the ratty work clothes." Then Janet and Sam went to their respective cabins to dry out and get dressed for the dinner.
Later that day, at the dinner, Janet saw how Sam solved the problem of the pants legs - she simply made cutoff shorts out of them. Coupled with her black T-shirt, she looked great and Anno approved.
Later, after dinner, Janet, Ameha, Anno, and Sam found a grassy spot to sit and watch the planet's two moons rise as night was falling. After a while, the moons were shining brightly on the water and a soft warm breeze was blowing, when Janet had an idea.
"How about a nice old-fashioned moonlight swim?" she said.
"You mean..." an astonished Sam asked. "I don't know..."
"Come on! You'll like it."
After explaining the concept to Ameha and Anno, everyone approved and headed for the beach. Soon the foursome was in the moonlit water, having a wonderful time. Sam and Janet decided to see how the bottom looked in the moonlight and did some simple freediving. It soon became apparent that, despite her smaller size, Janet was the more graceful swimmer of the two. However, both were astounded at how long they could hold their breath. The combination of lungs accustomed to Colorado and the clean sea-level air of the beach were the reasons.
As with all good things, this nocturnal swim came to an end and everybody turned in for the night.
After a peaceful sleep, Janet and Sam got dressed (Sam changed into her "good" outfit that she wore when she went through the gate) and after breakfast, they as well as a group from the village went to the communications facility.
"Now to see if this works..." said Sam as she turned on the system. A set of lights indicated all was well. Next, Janet activated the gate.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, a man behind a computer stated "Offworld activation." As the sirens went off, he continued "Signal only."
"Put it through." ordered General Hammond.
Sam's voice came out the speaker and said "General, the system works. We will be returning soon."
At that moment, another signal - the GDO Sam had - was detected and the iris was opened.
"Good job." commented Hammond. "See you in a few minutes."
Back on the planet, the hauler was sent through first and Sam and Janet said their goodbyes. "Thank you for your help." said Ameha.
"It was a pleasure to help and thanks for the fun we had." Then Janet and Ameha joined in a warm embrace and kiss.
Sam turned to Anno and said "It was great being here and you were so wonderful. I can't wait to visit again!"
Anno responded "I hope you return soon." Sam and Anno then kissed.
The two women then walked through the stargate, each wondering when their next trip to this wonderful planet would be.
It was a warm summer Friday morning when Ann Curry, the attractive Amerasian woman on NBC's "Today" show arrived with a TV crew at a lake outside New York City. The occasion for this trip was not to give Ann a chance to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine (though she did just that), but to shoot a "Gadget Guru" segment with their new Gadget Guru. Normally, such segments are done outside the "Today" show studio in the city, but the item being demonstrated was big and needed lots of space.
Ann, wearing a smart business suit consisting of a navy blue above-the-knee skirt, matching blazer, white blouse, and a pair of black pumps, was standing near the shore of the lake. next to a rather unusual looking sport utility vehicle (SUV) with the Gadget Guru. The cameras started rolling.
"What's this?" Ann asked.
"Well," the man replied, "you know how SUVs are billed as 'go anywhere' vehicles and they are always seen going up rocky hills, muddy trails, and what not? The one place you never see them is in a lake or river. That is because they would sink. But, Ann, that is not the case with this - the Aqua-SUV."
"Interesting. How do they keep it from sinking?"
"They do it," the man explained, "by making the bottom of the SUV as a sealed unit." Ann and the man crouched down to take a closer look and the cameraman pointed his camera under the SUV. "As you can see," he continued, "the only holes are where the wheels are, but they are sealed the same way as a propeller shaft on a boat is. Want to take a ride?"
"Why not?" With that, Ann and the Gadget Guru got into the SUV. Looking at the interior, Ann commented "Nice. A little plain, but quite good." The Guru started the engine. But before they could move more than a few inches, the sound man was waving for them to stop.
The audio man yelled "No good. As soon as you got into the truck, we lost the signal from the mike. Looks like this thing is a good radio shield. Let's just leave the door open and take a look inside. Then, we can close it and let him drive it in the lake."
Exiting the SUV, Ann responded "Sounds good to me."
After the shots showcasing the interior of the SUV and getting some more info, the doors were closed and the Gadget Guru drove the Aqua-Suv right into the lake as Ann and the crew watched. Then, they thought they heard a small bump. Perhaps the Aqua-Suv hit a floating log or something. But, those SUVs are supposed to be tough, so no one was concerned. When it got to the other side of the lake and drove out, the crew decided they had shot enough tape and turned off their equipment.
As it was making the return trip, the Aqua-Suv seemed to be riding lower and lower. Finally, about 100 feet from shore, the engine sputtered and died. Then, things got worse as the vehicle actually began to sink, slowly at first, but going faster. In a matter of seconds, it slipped beneath the surface.
Ann, shocked at what happened, started yelling. "Come on!" she exclaimed, "Won't one of you do something? He's in trouble out there!"
"Sorry Ann." replied the cameraman. "I can't swim."
The audio man explained "I just got back from the hospital after a real bad sinus infection. If I go in, I'll get sick again and if I use any more sick time, I'm out of a job."
After muttering some Japanese swear words under her breath, Ann took her cell phone and handed it to the cameraman. "Here! You call 911 and stay on the phone with them." Pointing to the audio man "You get over by the road and wait for the ambulance."
"What are you going to do?" asked the cameraman.
"Something you two don't have the guts to do!" Ann shot back. She then removed her blazer and ran along the dock. As she reached the end, her stomach began to knot. It was only a few weeks since Ann took that course to control her fear of deep water. Now the fear was resurfacing. Ann thought to herself "If I chicken out, that man could die. Can't let that happen." Taking a deep breath, Ann dove off the end of the dock and started heading to the sunken SUV.
As Ann entered the water, her outfit was instantly soaked through. Fortunately, it was nice and warm so she wasted no time in shock from the change of temperature. As she was swimming towards the sunken vehicle, Ann noticed her fear - instead of intensifying - was fading like it was being diluted. Another sensation, a pleasant one, was taking hold and Ann wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was the feeling of the water moving in and around her blouse. Maybe it was the way her skirt rubbed against her hosiery covered legs. Maybe it was just a rush from the adrenaline.
Ann soon arrived and saw that the SUV landed on the bottom upright and that it wasn't too far down. Taking a deep breath, she dove down to attempt a rescue. "Hope the camera isn't on..." thought Ann as her lovely legs slid beneath the surface. "I'm not in the mood to expose that much leg on TV!"
Down at the SUV, Ann could see that there was still quite a bit of air inside, but water was starting to seep in. The driver was panicking. Ann motioned that she was going to try to open the door. However, despite pulling on it for all she was worth, the water pressure made it impossible to even budge it. Running out of air, Ann quickly swam to the surface for another breath.
Diving back down, Ann had an idea. If she could smash a window, that would let in the water and equalize the pressure. But what could be used to smash the window? A quick examination showed no sign of large rocks on the botton and the SUV's tire iron, which would be the perfect tool for this, was inside the SUV with the spare. If only she had something that could concentrate the blow to small point, like a punch. A quick glance at her feet gave Ann the answer. One of her pumps had fallen off at some point, but she still had the other one. If she could brace herself, she could kick her heel into the glass and possibly shatter it. Time was running out, so Ann got into position and tried it.
Ann tried again, grabbing the roof rack extra hard to brace herself. This time, the she felt the glass give a little. The next kick shattered the glass and the water rushed into the vehicle, sucking Ann inside in the process.
The window she went in through was on the passenger side, so Ann quickly swam over to the now panic-stricken driver and undid his seat belt. Then, she opened the door and pushed the driver out through it. However, in his panicked state, he started grabbing at Ann as she followed him out. Ann realized that it would be difficult to swim to the surface with him clinging to her, so she pushed him away. Her now-untucked blouse, which he was grabbing her by, started to rip. But Ann got free and they both swam to the surface, where they emerged gasping for breath.
As they were treading water, Ann found the sensation of being in the water like this next to a man to be oddly exciting. She then wondered how he felt about. The Gadget Guru then turned to Ann and said "Thanks for saving my life!"
Ann replied "You're welcome. And now, for grabbing me..." With that, Ann hauled up and slapped him quite hard. "Don't you ever touch me like that again! You were pawing me like an animal!"
"I'm sorry," he apologized, "I got panicked. Honest. I wasn't trying to grope you."
Thinking for a second, Ann responded "Apology accepted. Now let's head for shore." The both of them headed for shore, with the Gadget Guru a faster swimmer than Ann. Evidently, he was anxious to get out of this situation. Ann was keeping a steady stroke some distance behind.
As the Gadget Guru was being pulled out of the water, Ann stopped and glanced down at herself. Strangely enough, despite the rescue activities, her pantyhose had no snags or runs. Her skirt was bobbing at mini-skirt level and offered no real impediment. Then she saw her blouse. The white garment was now totally transparent and revealed her bra. It also sported a large rip which exposed some skin. At that second, the people on the shore were yelling out to Ann asking if she was all right. She realized she couldn't come ashore looking like this. If someone got a picture or video of it, she could get into some trouble. Ann just shouted back "I'm fine! Take care of him." and slowly swam to the dock.
Just before Ann got to the dock, the Gadget Guru left with the rescue squad and the TV crew were packing their gear. Then Ann briefly overheard the technicians.
"Wow! Did you see Ann out there? All this time I've worked with her and had no idea she had such a great body."
"Yeah! Too bad we didn't get it on camera!"
"Just as well. If we did and she found out about it, she'd have us fired and then she would sue us for harassment or something."
Ann suppressed a chuckle. At least they didn't get a picture. They did all right today. As she stopped at the dock, Ann yelled out to one of the technicians "Could you do me a favor? While you still have my cell phone, call my husband and tell him to stop up here and pick me up. Thanks."
The technician complied and left Ann's phone next to her now folded blazer before he and his partner got in the TV truck and drove off. A short while later, since Ann's husband had the day off from his job, he arrived at the lake. He was dressed casually in a polo shirt and dockers. Seeing Ann in the water, he ran onto the dock and crouched near the edge.
"Honey!" he shouted, "Are you all right?"
Ann replied "Yes. I'm okay." Then she told him the story about the SUV sinking and how she rescued the driver.
"That was a very brave thing you did today," her husband mentioned, "and I am quite proud of you. Looks like you got over your fear in a big way."
"I sure did! Wait... I see something..." With that, Ann did a quick dive to the bottom and retrieved the shoe that fell off earlier and put it back on. As she surfaced, she commented "One bad thing about it. That nice romantic lunch we had planned for today is off. I can't go into town looking like this!"
"You're right." Ann's husband replied. "The effect on the male population would be devastating!"
"What do you mean?" Ann shot back. "I'm a total mess! What makes you think this is attractive?"
"Ann," he explained, "think about it. As you are treading water there, I can see your skirt has ridden up quite a bit and revealed lots of your lovely legs. Then, there is your blouse... or what is left of it. It reveals your great body, yet covers it at the same time. And, when you get out of the water, all that is going to cling to you like shrinkwrap and show what a nice figure you have."
Ann responded with a smile and "Oh, really... Still, I think I should get out now before the towing people come to retrieve the SUV. No sense in 'distracting' them from their job." Then Ann climbed out onto the dock with some help from her husband, and Ann's wardrobe behaved as predicted.
As her husband picked up her jacket and cell phone, the phone chirped. Ann took the phone and answered it. It was her bosses at the network. They heard about what happened and Ann filled them in on the situation. "Glad that no one was hurt. After what you did, we're giving you the rest of the day off. You earned it."
Ann answered "Thank you! Could you do me a small favor?"
"Sure. What is it."
"I don't want what happened today to be publicized. I feel a bit uncomfortable."
"Understood. No problem. Now enjoy the weekend!" The phone went dead.
As she was putting the phone away, Ann told her husband "That was the network. I have the whole day off. Still, it is a shame we couldn't have that lunch together."
Her husband responded "Well, I have an idea. You go to that picnic table in the shade over there and wait for me. I'll be back." Then he walked off to his car and left. Ann, a bit puzzled, made her way over to the picnic table and sat there, enjoying the nice soft breeze. A few minutes later, the towing company showed up and Ann quietly watched the team work to retrieve the sunken vehicle.
A little while later, as the towing crew was winching the sunken SUV up, Ann's husband returned. He was carrying an old blanket he kept in the car for some vague emergency purpose and a bag from a local fast food place. Spreading the blanket on the picnic table, he set down the bag and said "Lunch is served".
Ann, still very damp from her swim, started eating. "How nice!" she stated.
"Well, I figured a picnic together would be almost as good as what we originally had planned." Ann's husband replied. "While it may not be as formal as eating in that bistro, it sure is romantic, seeing the woman I love in an outfit that is both revealing and covering."
"You really like this, don't you?"
"Yes."
After eating and looking into each other's eyes, Ann's husband suggested a walk along the lakeshore. The towing crew had finished their job and left with the wreck some time ago, and now the couple had the area to themselves. They then started walking, with Ann's husband carrying the blanket and Ann's jacket.
Arriving at a secluded part of the lake, Ann turned to her husband and said "Honey, I've got a crazy idea I'm sure you're going to love! Since I'm still quite damp and you really seem to enjoy this, why don't I just..." With that Ann got up on a nearby rock and did a shallow dive into the lake.
When she surfaced, she glanced at her husband and saw that he was shocked - but extremely happy with this development. Then Ann's husband removed his watch, wallet, shoes, and socks and dove in himself. Surfacing next to Ann, he said "Wow! This feels great! True, I don't look as good wet as you do, but it's fun!"
Ann reached down, removed her shoes, and tossed them ashore. "I know, they're probably already ruined, but I can swim much better without them." she explained. She then started swimming out into the lake with her husband close behind. Once in deeper water, Ann took a breath and dove down for some underwater swimming. Her skirt had ridden up almost the whole length of her legs and her blouse came untucked and exposed her trim midriff. Her husband was watching from the surface and liked what he saw.
As Ann was back on the surface catching her breath, her husband said "Are you sure none of your ancestors on your mother's side were Ama divers? You were fabulous under there. A real live mermaid."
Grinning playfully, Ann replied "I don't think there are any. Now, let's see how you do." Then she dove back down. This time, her husband took a deep breath and followed her. They frolicked underwater and tried an underwater kiss. With their mouths full of water and lungs full of stale air, they then swam back to the surface.
"That was fun!" Ann exclaimed "Too bad it took me so long to discover this."
"Yeah..." replied her husband. Glancing at Ann's tattered blouse, he added "That looks pretty bad."
"It is. I could understand though. He was panicking and grabbed at me to use me as a floatation device. But I can't fix it."
"That gives me an idea. Let's go down again."
They both dove down. Once submerged, Ann's husband peeled the torn blouse off her and was going to let it sink. But he didn't want to be a litterbug, so he just held on to it. This left Ann in her bra and skirt. Surprisingly, Ann's bra was quite opaque. No danger of revealing anything too raunchy.
Once back on the surface, Ann's husband commented. "You know, you could have removed the blouse before you dove in to rescue that guy. What you have on there is no more revealing, in fact it is a bit less revealing, than most bikini tops."
"Honey, you know I don't normally wear two-pieces. Besides, with the way that guy was grabbing, it would have only been more embarrassing and I could have wound up exposing a whole lot more."
"Oh well. I have an idea. Give me your skirt."
"Huh?"
"You'll see..."
"Well..." Ann responded. She then gently removed her skirt and was left in her undergarments and pantyhose. To her great surprise, her panties turned out to be quite opaque. Then, she handed the skirt to her husband.
"Okay..." he replied. Then he swam for shore and got out. Ann was wondering if this was some kind of prank or something. Once onshore, Ann's husband put her soaked skirt on a large flat rock. He then removed his shirt and pants, leaving him in just his dark boxers, and put them on the rock also. Once that was done, he jumped back into the lake and swam out to Ann.
"What was that all about?" Ann asked.
"Well, this way, we can continue to enjoy ourselves in the lake while our clothes dry. Also, if anyone should happen to walk past the lake and see us, we will look like a couple in swimwear. After all, what you have on now makes a nice bikini."
"But we would still have to dry ourselves off when we got out."
"True. That is why I brought that old blanket with us. We can use it like a towel. Besides, the stuff we're wearing now will dry pretty quickly. Now let's have some fun!"
Ann and her husband spent quite a bit of time in the lake, diving down and swimming along the bottom, doing some simple aquabatics, pulling each other under, and just floating around. They were having a wonderful time.
Eventually, it was time to get out. Just as Ann's husband predicted, the clothes on the rock were dry. Taking the old blanket, they towelled off and found a nice shady spot to relax as a nice gentle breeze helped in drying them off. A short time later, they were completely dry and got dressed.
Looking at her blouse, Ann commented, "Can't wear this. It's ruined."
"I know," replied her husband, "but it was already a total loss before our swim today. That's why you had no objections when I tore it off. Besides, if you button that blazer right, no one will notice that you are not wearing a blouse. They'll just think it's a business suit with a low neckline. You'll look fine."
With that, Ann put her jacket back on and buttoned it up. Then Ann and her husband walked back to the car for the trip home.
When they got to the house, Ann's husband said "I still feel bad about not taking you to a nice lunch like I promised. So, I'm going to make it up to you and take you out to dinner tonight, especially since you have the day off. To that nice place you like so much!"
"Great!" Ann replied. After looking at the time, she continued, "We've got plenty of time to get ready."
Ann and her husband soon got changed into more appropriate attire for an evening out. Ann was wearing a nice black dress and her husband wore a suit and tie. They then left and went to the restaurant where they had an excellent meal. After this fine evening out, the couple arrived back at home.
As they were getting out of their outfits, Ann, standing there still in her black full slip and hose, said "That was one fun evening. Good thing the kids are spending the weekend at grandparents."
"Yeah," Ann's husband replied. "It's nice to have a romantic evening out. Especially with such a heroic woman. You certainly earned this evening."
"Well... the only reason I jumped in to save him was because none of those other people would. If someone who could do something was there, I would have let them."
"But then we wouldn't have had our little swim this afternoon, huh?"
"Speaking of the lake, I think we forgot something..."
"If it's something you left there, it's too late to go and get it now."
"It's not that. I was just thinking that, after all the swimming, we never took a shower to rinse off."
Ann's husband, standing in his undershirt and boxers, responded, "I think you're right! Are you thinking what I think you're thinking?"
"Yes!" Ann replied. "Let's take care of that now!"
Without removing any more clothing, they headed for the bathroom, started the shower, got under it, and were instantly soaked again.
"We seem to be stuck in a rut. This is the third time today." Ann commented.
"Yeah, but what a wonderful rut to stuck in. Besides, this time, we can do whatever we want without worrying about someone walking past."
It turned out to be the most enjoyable shower Ann ever experienced. And the rest of the weekend wasn't bad either.

Note to readers: This story was inspired by something I actually saw on the final episode of this show. Unfortunately, the real-life event went without a hitch and no soaking resulted. This story, however, imagines what could - or as I think should - have happened. I also took some liberties with the wardrobe since I couldn't remember what each woman wore that day. It also incorporates a suggestion by one of our site forum posters as well as one by Wetcouple from the Bravenet board. Enjoy!
It was the summer of 2000 and the day had come at last. The final broadcast of the very low-rated "Later Today" program on NBC. The broadcast was nearing the end and it was time for a little bit of gallows humor from the the producers. In a parody of "Survivor" a tiki torch was lit and set up on stage. The gag was going to be for one of the staff to come and snuff out the torch to symbolize the show's cancellation. Everything seemed to be going fine, but the director seemed to have a problem.
Looking at a monitor up in the control room, the director shouted "That damn torch looks like a candle! I need a bigger flame!" The cameras were stopped, the torch was extinguished, and some adjustments were made. Then it was relit.
"A little better," said the the director, "but we still need more flame. Turn up the gas!"
"Okay." said the technician as he fiddled with a hidden valve. The flame became much larger and brighter.
All the while Florence Henderson, one of the women on the show, watched what was going on and felt uneasy. She had been in show business longer than most of the stage crew had been alive and she had a sense that something was going to go wrong. However, since this was the final program, she wanted to get this experience over with, so she kept her concerns to herself.
"That's more like it!" exclaimed the director. "Just a second, and we can roll the cameras..."
Florence was right to have reservations. The torch was located directly underneath one of the heat sensors for the building's fire alarm and suppression system. If the flame was at the level it was originally supposed to be, it wouldn't have heated the sensor in the short time the sketch was going to take. But, this flame was much brighter and hotter. In a matter of seconds, the sensor detected it and, since it couldn't differentiate between a controlled fire and a blaze, went into action.
The sprinkler system was activated. As the result of some recent remodelling and upgrades to the building, the fire suppression system was also upgraded to a powerful top-of-the-line model. As a result, torrents of water gushed from the sprinklers and several small water cannon. This had the effect it was built for and extinguished the torch. However, the three women on stage - Jodi Applegate, Florence Henderson, and Asha Blake were soaked to the skin in a matter of seconds. Due to the cameramen, stage crew, and the audience making for the exits, the trio was stuck in the studio as the sprinklers continued their deluge.
Each had a slightly different reaction to the situation. Asha was huddling and holding her jacket closed in a vain attempt to keep at least a part of her dry. The fact that the water was cold only added to her misery. Florence gave up and just stood there, mumbling in language her most famous character - Carol Brady - would never use about how her clothes were getting ruined. Adding to her anger was the embarrassment caused by how tightly her soaked grey two-piece business suit clung to her slender frame. "Just hope I can get out without being photographed..." she thought.
Jodi, on the other hand had a different reaction. The sprinklers reminded her of that shower she took with her husband after her first clothed swim (chronicled in the story "Jodi and the Party Person"). However, the water could have been warmer. But, Jodi had to hide her calmness and enjoyment from her friends, lest they think she was a nut. Glancing down, her white blouse was now quite transparent. But Jodi was wearing a sweater-like jacket with it, so she could easily close it sufficiently to hide her now visible bra. Her knee-length blue skirt was clinging tightly to her legs. While showers were nice, Jodi felt that nothing could beat the weightless feeling of total immersion. But, this unplanned soaking wasn't too bad.
After a few minutes, the sprinklers stopped and the exits cleared. The soaked trio then waded through the inch or so of water on the studio floor and made their way out of the building. Outside, there was the audience and also the stage crew, discussing damage to their equipment. The New York City Fire Department was there, since they responded to the alarm that went off when the sprinklers were activated. Jodi soon saw Asha standing with her husband, wrapped up in a fire department issue blanket which covered her soaked red jacket, white blouse, and most of her black slacks.
Florence let the authorities know she was all right, then quickly left for home. She was still fuming about how the sprinklers ruined her outfit. Chances were that the NBC executives would get a very angry phone call from her later.
After checking in with the authorities, Jodi remembered that she had left something in her office. While Jodi didn't really mind being soaked, she didn't want to travel through the city in her wet outfit either. If she could get the gym bag she had in her office, she could change into her dry gym clothes and go about without raising any eyebrows.
Jodi entered the building and soon reached the room that served as her office. The room was bare except for a desk and chair as she had taken her stuff out a few days earlier. With a quick glance around the room she found what she was looking for. Sheltered under her desk was her gym bag.
Taking the bag and standing in a corner out of view of the window, Jodi quickly stripped off her wet clothes, towelled dry, and changed into her gym clothes (a plain white T-shirt and black sweat pants). After this was done, Jodi left the room and the building.
After wondering what to do and where to go, Jodi decided to head to the local gym. She reasoned that a workout might be the thing to get over her hurt feelings about the cancellation. A short while later, Jodi arrived at the gym and signed in.
As she was standing around trying to figure out what activity would be the best, her emotions - the pain of having your shot at the national big time go down in flames - hit her. Jodi was very upset. Also, she was afraid that this failure might hurt her career. She was almost to tears.
Just then, Jodi saw a woman walk into the gym. She was average height, blonde, and dressed casually in a dark T-shirt and jeans. Seeing Jodi in her current emotional state, the woman walked over and asked "Are you all right? Wait a minute... You're Jodi Applegate. Too bad about the show. It wasn't your fault."
Composing herself, Jodi responded. "Thanks. I'll be all right. I was just a bit upset about it. Failure still hurts."
"I know." the woman replied. "Permit me to introduce myself. I'm Jane Fisher and I believe that you may benefit from my stress-reduction sessions that I run here at the gym every month."
"Oh," commented Jodi, "that's why I've seen you here a few times before. How does your stress reduction technique work? Yoga? Massage?"
"Not even close!" Jane answered. "I'll show you and you can decide if you want to give it a try."
"Sounds good to me!"
The two women made their way to the pool room. It was a standard type of indoor pool that one would find at places like the Y. Looking around, Jodi asked "Where is your equipment?"
"I don't need any." Jane replied. "You could say that the technique I teach is a form of hydrotherapy."
"That sounds wonderful, but I don't have a swimsuit. I guess I'll have to pass."
"Well..." Then Jane's cell phone chirped. It was a call from one of Jane's students saying that they had to cancel this session and that their friends had other sudden commitments today. "Looks like it is just us two. As for what you were saying before. Neither do I. What you are wearing right now will work just fine. You see, Jodi, the point of my technique is that it is done fully clothed. Turning our normal clothes into swimwear creates a sensation of delightful absurdity that reduces stress."
"Excuse me, but I thought clothed swimming was prohibited in this pool."
"Normally it is, but when you know which closets the owner keeps their skeletons in, many things are possible. Now, if you don't mind..." With that Jane removed her shoes and jumped right in the pool. "Come on in! The water is nice and warm!"
A flash of inspiration hit Jodi and she answered "I'll be right back! You just gave me an idea!" Then Jodi went to the ladies locker room, gym bag in hand.
Once inside the locker room, Jodi opened the gym bag and retrieved her damp clothes and changed into them. Then she exited the locker room and went back to the pool.
"What the..." Jane asked, noticing Jodi's wet outfit. "Did you go for a swim on the show?"
"Not exactly." Jodi replied. "Some sketch backfired and set off the sprinklers."
"You realize that, with the warm chlorinated water in the pool, your clothes might get damaged. They don't look like wash-and-wear casual."
"I know. If they get ruined, and anyone asks, I'll just say it was the accident with the sprinklers. And now..." With that, Jodi did a racing dive right into the deep end. As she went down in the warm water, she thought "Now this is more like it! Nice and warm!"
Surfacing, Jodi asked "Is it my imagination or is this water warmer than usual?"
Jane answered "Yes. It is. The water temperature is in the high 80's. I have found that it helps relax the muscles."
"You're right about that!" Jodi exclaimed as she did a backstroke. Then she dove down and did some underwater swimming, enjoying the feel of her skirt rubbing against her legs.
When Jodi surfaced, Jane asked "You seem to be a natural. Have you done this before?"
"Yes. Once, about two years ago, I did an on-location interview with this woman who showed how to make pool decorations. At any rate, she jumped into the pool fully clothed afterwards. My husband was there, saw what happened, and was ogling her. Couldn't have that happen, could I? So, if that was what he liked, I decided to give him something better to look at and dove in myself. Worked like a charm. And what happened after that... let's just say it was excellent."
"Wow! That was quite a story!" Jane responded.
"Yes," Jodi commented as she removed her sweater jacket. "Too bad my husband isn't here right now..."
"Just as well. These sessions are women-only. If we allowed husbands and boyfriends to join in, let's say that might lead to some 'problems' and could get me booted out of here."
Jodi replied "I understand. It is just that I recall how enjoyable it was to share an experience like this with my husband."
At this time Jodi noticed her blouse had come untucked and it was bobbing, revealing quite a bit of her midriff. The sensation of the blouse rubbing against her was pleasant, but she was concerned about the buttons falling off (due to weakend threads) and getting sucked into the filter. Jodi had an idea. Since there was no one in the room other than Jane, Jodi started to unbutton her blouse and asked "Would you mind?"
Jane responded "Go right ahead, but nothing naughty. All right?"
"Don't worry." With that, she finished unbuttoning her blouse and completely exposing her bra. Fortunately, it was quite opaque and was no more revealing than the top of her two-piece swimsuit she had at home. Jodi then swam toward a ladder, letting her blouse flow like a cape behind her. Once at the ladder, she exited the pool and headed for the diving board. Jodi then got on it and did a nice deep dive. On her way back to the surface, she let the blouse slide off completely. Surfacing, Jodi exclaimed "That was fun!"
A while later, Jane said "Hey, take a break before you wear yourself out with all the swimming and diving." Exiting the pool, Jane located two pool noodles (long solid foam cylinders) and tossed one to Jodi before jumping back in. Using the noodles as floatation devices, Jodi and Jane just floated around and talked.
After the break, Jodi said "There's something I want to try before we call it a day." With that, Jodi removed her skirt, revealing her opaque panties. "This is weird. What I have looks like a swimsuit, yet I feel quite a bit different. It's kind of fun, actually."
Jodi then dove down and retrieved her clothing. Garments in hand, she exited the pool. Jane was right behind her. "Thanks," Jodi said "It was fun today and I sure feel a lot better. How much do I owe you?"
"Today is on the house. You had a rough break and you deserve it. If you want to get in on the program, the phone number is on the bulletin board in the lobby."
"I'll look into it." Jodi then went into the locker room and headed straight for the shower. After rinsing off the pool chlorine, Jodi stuffed her wet clothes back into her gym bag, changed into her dry gym clothes and headed for home.
Upon arriving home, Jodi removed her soaked suit from the gym bag and hung it up to dry in the bathroom. It would be several hours before her husband got back from work and the stuff would be dry by then. There was nothing for her to do except decide what to make for dinner.
Some hours later, Jodi's husband arrived home from work and asked her how the final episode of the show went. Jodi told him the story about the sprinklers and her trip to the gym. "No wonder why you seem to be in such a great mood for a woman who just had her show cancelled." her husband responded.
After dinner, Jodi decided to check on her suit. The pool water did a number on the sweater and it was no longer suitable to wear if she was going out anywhere, though she could still wear it in the house. Her blue skirt had faded somewhat. Looking over the damage, an idea occurred to Jodi. She could set this outfit aside and save it for use as a special "swimsuit". It would work and her husband would definitely approve.
Just before turning in, Jodi's husband took a shower. He was not alone for long, as Jodi joined him, saying "I really wish you could have been with me at the pool today..."
"I know..." he replied. "But here we are now..."
They had found a great way to end this "Cancellation Day".
As for Asha Blake, once she got home after the incident at the studio, took a warm shower, and changed into some dry clothes, she started to feel better. Soon she got over the incident and the cancellation in general and began to plan the next step in her career. "Hopefully, no one will set off any sprinklers on my next job," she thought.
Just as expected, Florence Henderson made a very angry call to NBC and complained about the sprinklers and how they ruined her suit. Anxious to avoid any trouble, the network responded promptly by firing the director responsible and by sending the three women checks to cover the cost of their ruined clothing. Since TV programs in general have only a vague idea what stuff is worth, the checks came out to about what twice the clothes were actually worth (in Florence's case) to about three times what they were worth (Jodi and Asha).
Jodi's next job was filling in for Soledad O'Brien on the weekend show when she was on leave. As for the pool sessions, Jodi signed up and went to one shortly after her "Weekend Today" stint ended. It was great having a suit she could use just for stuff like this. This time, Jodi waited until she got home before taking her shower so she could share it with her husband.
All in all, that cancellation turned out to be a rather interesting experience.

Note: While this story takes place in the "Night Court" universe, it takes place several years after the events at the end of the series. Certain back story elements are my creation and are merely there to increase plausibility.
It was a hot, muggy summer night in Washington D.C. as Congresswoman Christine Sullivan arrived at the party. This party was one of those thrown by some lobbyists to try to sway politicians. Christine knew the drill and was totally bored. She had been to these events before and, as always, she was alone. It had been virtually impossible to find a decent man to go out with since she first arrived in the capitol, several terms ago. Her busy schedule was a part of the problem. The other part was the way most men regarded her. Although she was almost fifty, she was still extremely beautiful and had a very nice figure. As a result, most men who noticed her were only interested in her body, and what could be done with it. This was also a reason Christine disliked these parties. All the guys ogling her.
Despite that, Christine was very well attired for this event. She wore a nice silky black dress, sheer black pantyhose, and a set of black heels. Once inside, Christine resigned herself to boredom. But, this party was a bit better than most. She actually managed to have an intelligent discussion with some of her fellow Congress members about a few important bills. A few guys did try to pick her up, but she was able to politely blow them off. Still, she thought, if she only had a nice man to go to these events with, that would stop those clowns.
Several hours later, the party ended and the guests left the building and went out into the hot, humid night. As Christine was walking on the sidewalk, headed for her car, it happened. A large, scruffy looking man came running up and grabbed Christine's purse. Rationally, she knew that it was better to simply give up the purse, but instinctively, she wanted to put up a fight. And fight she did. Despite being only 5'6", Christine put up a fairly good fight. But, her assailant was much stronger and threw Christine into some bushes.
However, the punk did not have long to savor his victory. A man saw what happened and took off after the crook. Christine recognized the man pursuing the mugger. It was Anthony (she couldn't remember his last name) and he worked on the staff of a congressman who had an office next to Christine's. Anthony soon caught up with the mugger and started fighting him. After a few minutes, the mugger managed to shove Anthony and send him falling over backwards into a fountain, but not before Anthony was able to rescue Christine's purse. The mugger quickly escaped.
Christine got up and ran over to the fountain. Fortunately, Anthony was able to keep the purse out of the water. He soon got out of the fountain and handed the purse back to Christine.
"Thanks!" exclaimed Christine. "Are you all right?"
Anthony replied "Yes. I'm just wet, that's all. Are you okay? You put up some fight there."
"I think so. I don't think he hit me much. He seems to have just thrown me. But I'm all right."
"Damn!" exclaimed Anthony as he glanced at his (waterproof) watch. "Looks like I missed my ride home."
"Don't worry. I'll drop you off. Where do you live?" Anthony then told Christine his address. "That would be a problem." Christine commented. "To get there, I would have to go through that part of town, and I don't want to drive through there at night, especially after what happened just now. Tell you what, why don't I take you to my place tonight. You can dry off there and rest in the guest room. Then, I'll take you home tomorrow."
"Sounds okay to me."
After a few minutes of checking around the party, Christine located some plastic to cover the front passenger seat of her car so Anthony's wet suit wouldn't drip on it. Then they proceeded to Christine's house. Upon arriving, Christine got out and unlocked the front door. Looking through the open door at the carpeted floor, Anthony said "I can't go in and drip all over your nice carpeting."
"Okay," Christine replied. "Just walk around to the back and I'll let you in the back door."
Anthony then walked around to the backyard of the house. When he got there, he saw that there was a nice, but not too fancy, in-ground swimming pool. He thought that Christine was lucky to be able to find a house with a pool in this area. But before he could speculate further, Christine had unlocked and opened the back door.
"Nice pool you have." Anthony commented.
"Glad you like it." Christine replied. "Don't ask me how the water is. I've never been in it."
"Huh?" Anthony asked in disbelief.
"It's true. I'm either too busy with work, taking care of things around the house, or just too tired to actually go for a swim. But the pool came with the place and I keep it maintained just in case."
"That's a shame. I was wondering. Since it is so hot and muggy tonight and I don't seem to be drying off, could I cool off in the pool?" inquired Anthony as he removed his jacket, tie, shoes, and wallet.
Christine was a little startled, but started to answer "Well, it is hot tonight, but it doesn't look like you have a swimsuit and I don't allow any skinny-dip..."
Before Christine could finish her sentence, Anthony had jumped into the pool wearing his shirt, dress pants, and socks. "Well, since you are wearing something and you are already in, I'll let you continue." commented Christine.
To Christine, Anthony's swim seemed a little odd, but swimming in clothes was a tiny eccentricity compared to all of the strange and crazy things Christine saw and experienced in her years of working as a public defender in the court of Judge Harold T. Stone, one of the strangest judges in New York City history.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Christine told Anthony "I'll go in the house and get a towel for you when you get out. Also, I'm taking your jacket and shoes in to try to dry them out." Christine then picked up the items and entered the house.
After hanging up the jacket and getting the shoes so they would dry, Christine went and got a towel. As she was getting the towel, she thought about how much fun Anthony seemed to be having in the pool and thought that it might be good to go for a swim herself. So, she grabbed a second towel and headed for her bedroom. Once in the bedroom, Christine opened a drawer in her dresser which contained her swimsuits. "One-piece or two-piece..." debated Christine. For her, either option would work. Though she was very near 50, she was in excellent shape and would still look good in most bikinis. As she was holding up swimsuits and looking in the mirror, Christine noticed something. It was a rip in her dress. Further examination revealed a few more. Evidently, the fight with the mugger was a bit rougher than she had first thought. She soon found though that the damage was pretty much limited to her dress and a few runs in her pantyhose. She was still uninjured. Then Christine had an idea. Perhaps Anthony was onto something. Since the rips had ruined her dress beyond repair, she could give it a try herself. She might as well have some fun before tossing the dress. Christine put away the swimsuits, removed her shoes and jewelry, picked up the towels, and headed back for the pool.
Returning to the pool, Anthony had noticed Christine had brought two towels. He asked "Hey, why did you bring two towels? One should be enough to dry off with."
Christine responded "If I brought you one, what would I use?"
"Huh?" asked Anthony, who concealed his excitement at this potential development. "You're going for a swim too?"
"Yes. I saw how much fun you were having. Besides, that mugger ripped my dress somewhat, so I figure I have nothing to lose." explained Christine.
"But what about your..."
"I'm not worried about the pantyhose and what I have on underneath is washable. No problem."
Christine then proceeded to the end of the deep end, took a breath, and dove in with a racing dive. Anthony was right, Christine realized, this was fun. She had gone swimming in swimsuits in the past, but this felt different. Perhaps it was the feel of the material or maybe the way it moved in the water. Maybe it was the "naughty" and unconventional aspect of it all. Either way, it was fun. Christine swam underwater towards Anthony for a distance, then surfaced.
Looking at Christine as she surfaced, Anthony admired the sight. Christine's hair was slicked back. The shoulders of her dress poked above the surface of the water and appeared shiny as the material glistened in the dim light. Underwater, the hem of her dress rode up to near miniskirt level and revealed most of her lovely legs.
"Fun, isn't it?" asked Anthony.
"Actually, it is." Christine replied. "When I first saw you jump in dressed like that, I thought you were a bit of a nut. But, thinking about it, swimming in clothes is a lot less nuttier than the stuff I saw when I worked as a public defender in New York."
"Really?"
"Yes. I worked in this strange court. The judge was an amateur magician. Then we had this enormous loveable lug of a bailiff. The ADA was a womanizer. The stories I could tell. Compared to that, your clothed swimming is actually quite sane."
"Glad you don't think I'm crazy."
Christine then started telling anecdotes about her time as a public defender. She also told of her run of bad luck with men, such as her failed marriage, being stalked by the ADA she used to work with (the man followed her to Washington and wound up being sentenced to a home for the insane).
Anthony then began to tell Christine his story. Things like his job, how he was unable to find any nice women to go out with, why he liked clothed swimming. Things like that. All the while Christine was floating on her back and slowly paddling around. The parts of her legs that were above the surface looked very shiny in the dim moonlight. Her dress was slowly moving around her legs and the part that was above the surface shown off Christine's figure rather well. Her legs weren't her only noteworthy feature.
Now treading water normally, Christine asked Anthony "I have an idea you might find interesting."
"Shoot." Anthony responded.
"I was wondering if you would be interested in going with me to dinner functions in the future? You seem like someone I would want to go with."
"Sounds like a great idea, but I have one problem with it."
"What?"
"I can't dance."
Christine then swam closer and embraced Anthony. "It's not that hard. In the pool like this, anyone can be light on their feet." With that, the two of them began a slow dance.
Anthony, enjoying this development, added "Another nice thing about being here is that it is easy to sweep you off your feet!". They went to a deeper area and Christine's feet no longer touched the bottom. As they were dancing around, they entered an area that was even over Anthony's head and both of them went under.
Once underwater, Christine and Anthony looked each other over, rather than immediately surfacing. Christine looked spectacular as her dress rode up considerably, revealing almost the entire length of her legs. Anthony's shirt had started to come untucked. Then they embraced and kissed while they headed for the surface.
Once on the surface, Christine exclaimed "That was fun! Let's do some more!" With that, she dove under with Anthony following close behind. The two of them performed simple aquabatics, surfacing only to take a breath. Taking a break on the surface, Christine asked Anthony "I want to try something else out, something I am sure that you will enjoy. Could you help me with a zipper?"
Anthony replied "Sure thing!" and unzipped Christine's dress. Christine then swam out of it leaving her in a nice black teddy with high-cut legs. One could see that Christine was wearing the sheer-to-waist variety of pantyhose. She then turned to face Anthony and asked "Like what you see?"
"Certainly do!" he commented. Then, they embraced again. Christine was trying to get her hands under Anthony's dress shirt. "Here, let me help with that..." he responded and unbuttoned his shirt. Christine then slid Anthony's shirt off leaving him in his undershirt. A long kiss ensued.
At that moment, Anthony pushed Christine away. "We have to stop." he said. "I know where this is heading. If it doesn't happen in the pool, it would happen in the shower or somewhere else. But this is not the right time."
"Huh?" replied an astonished Christine. "I thought that was what all men wanted! You're not one of those..."
"No, I am not. I was thinking back to what you told me earlier, about how you would have relationships with men, they'd use you, then either leave you or drift away. Christine, you don't know me that well yet. I'm sure if we did it tonight, we would both enjoy it. But what if, later, you decided I wasn't right for you. Then I'd be another name on that list. However, if we get to know each other, then you can decide for yourself if I am right for you."
Christine gave Anthony a quick kiss. "I'm touched. Nobody has ever thought of my feelings like that before. Everyone else thought about their need for gratification first. I think things will work out with us. I like your suggestion."
Anthony commented "Glad you appreciate it. Now about your suggestion that we go out to formal functions together, I accept. It would be an honor. How about we swim around some more?" Christine didn't say a word, but dove under. Anthony took the hint and followed.
After another underwater aquabatics session, the pair gathered their stuff and exited the pool. Christine told Anthony "You can rinse off in the shower out here. Then, you can go to the basement and dry your stuff. One more thing - you sleep on the couch downstairs. Hope you don't mind."
"Wouldn't have it any other way!" responded Anthony. Everything went as planned. Anthony quickly dried his clothes in the dryer and changed back into them. Then he headed for the couch and promptly fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Christine was in her room. She took her torn dress and was going to throw it out, then reconsidered. "I have a better idea..." she thought. "When the time is right, I'll wear it again and tell Anthony to indulge himself. Should be fun for the both of us." After a quick shower, Christine changed into her sleepwear and went to bed, dreaming of the fun she could have with Anthony in the future.
The next morning, Christine and Anthony met in the kitchen for breakfast. Christine was dressed casually in a T-shirt and jeans. As they were eating, Anthony glanced out at the pool and said "How about another swim?" Christine simply gave him a mildly irritated look. He quickly responded "Just kidding. But that was great fun last night. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can do something like that again."
Christine commented "That was fun. The most fun I had in a long time. As for when we will do it again, who knows? But I do hope it is soon too. Now to get you home." With that, Christine and Anthony headed out to the car for the trip.
Though the previous night had started off badly, Christine made a brand new friend and discovered a new way to have fun. Not too bad. Will they have further wet adventures in the future? Time will tell.
Starring Elizabeth Vargas
Written by Nemesoak
It was a bright and warm day at a marina located on the shore of a large lake. Near the ramp used by people to launch boats from trailers, a video crew from ABC's "Good Morning America" was setting up to tape a segment on car safety. The segment would deal with how to escape from a car that winds up in the water. The car for this segment was a junked vehicle which was largely stripped of parts. A quantity of scrap metal was placed under the hood to simulate the weight of the engine that the car no longer had. The car had a steel cable attached to rear so that it could be winched back up the ramp in order to shoot multiple takes. Everything seemed to be in perfect order as Elizabeth Vargas, a lovely brunette reporter who worked for the show, was preparing to do her narration of the segment. A stuntman would be doing the actual escape - an arrangement Elizabeth had no problem with.
Then, things began to change. A man walked up to the director and said "We have a problem with the stuntman."
"What do you mean 'a problem'?" asked the director.
"Well, our stuntman was doing some work on a movie last night. Seems something went wrong and he was hurt." replied the assistant.
"How is he?"
"Not too bad, but he won't be doing any stunt work for about a week."
"That is bad news..." The director then went to find the marina owner to inform him of the news. He found the owner, a gruff overweight man in a T-shirt and jeans. The director informed the owner of the problem and asked about postponing the shoot.
"Hell no!" bellowed the owner. "This is my busy season! Heck, I'm losing money just letting you folks do your little safety exercise. I'm booked solid for the next month with paying long-time customers. So, if you clowns can't do your little schtick today, then you're out of luck!"
Dejected, the director considered packing up and leaving, cutting his losses. Then, an idea popped into his head and he walked over to Elizabeth.
"We have a bit of a problem." he said. "The stuntman got hurt last night and won't be able to do the work today and I can't get us another day at the marina."
"Looks like we'll have to cancel." Elizabeth answered.
"Maybe not. I have a question. Can you swim?"
"Off course," answered Elizabeth, "but what does..."
"Great! You can do the demonstration! You've just saved the day!"
"Huh?" replied a shocked Elizabeth. "I can't. I'm not a stuntwoman!"
"Hey, that only adds to the realism. How many people who get into car accidents are stunt people? Almost none! This will make it more applicable to the public."
"One more problem." added Elizabeth, glancing down at her outfit consisting of a nice red sweater, a reddish skirt of a leather-like material, pantyhose, and shoes. "I didn't bring a wetsuit or even a swimsuit for that matter. I suppose I could try to find something if I absolutely had to do it."
"Elizabeth," the director answered, "what is wrong with what you are wearing now?"
"My clothes could get ruined for one thing..."
"Think a moment. How many people who get into these type of accidents think to change into a bathing suit before they get behind the wheel? Not a one. Your clothing, as well as the fact you are not a stunt performer, will enhance the realism of the exercise and maybe make it more applicable. Besides, if one person sees this demonstration, applies the knowledge, and saves their life, it is worth it. So, send me the bill for your clothes and I'll tack it on the expense account."
"Okay if I remove my shoes? They're real leather."
"Yes. Just get down there and do it."
Elizabeth couldn't really argue with that logic, so she walked over to the car, which was being placed in position. After explaining the change in plan to the TV crew, she removed her shoes, got in the car and sat behind the wheel. Having memorized her narration, Elizabeth didn't need to be told what to do. Actually, it was quite simple. Open the window when the car gets in the water, open the door when the pressure equalizes, and swim away.
In a few moments, the car was ready. The signal was given, the wheel chocks were removed, and the car rolled down the ramp. It rolled a little faster than planned, but no one thought anything of it.
The car hit the water, slowing slightly. Water was slowly seeping in and the carpeting was damp. So far, so good. Elizabeth reached for the window handle to crank it down. She tried to turn it, but the handle came off in her hand. Elizabeth held the handle up by the window and screamed that it broke off.
On the shore, the director saw what happened and yelled "Winch her back up! We got to get her out and fix the problem!" The man working the winch turned the power on and began to pull in the cable.
Inside the car, Elizabeth felt the motion stop and heard the winch running. She was relieved. She would be out in a minute or two. Maybe she could even convince the director that the car was faulty and to scrap the demonstration. That way, she could get out of the whole matter with nothing more than the soles of her pantyhose getting wet.
But that was not to be. A second later, a loud snap was heard. The cable broke. Fortunately, the crew was able to leap out of the way of the severed steel cable which could have turned deadly. However, the car resumed its descent down the ramp, the weight of the scrap metal - much heavier than the original engine - causing the vehicle to pick up speed. With the increasing depth and pressure, water seeped in faster and Elizabeth's feet were almost submerged.
In seconds, the car reached end of the ramp and continued on the sloping bottom. A short distance later, the bottom dropped off very deeply and the car began a free descent. Elizabeth was starting to get frantic. The water was up to her ankles now, but she had a new worry. With the way the weight was distributed, it was likely that the car would come to rest upside down. If that happened and the bottom was soft, she would be trapped with no hope of rescue. As the water was now up to her shins, Elizabeth was wondering how deep the bottom was and if the car would come down upright, or at least in position from which she could escape.
The car hit the bottom nose first with surprising force. There was some damage from the impact as the water was coming in faster now and reached just below her knees. The car began settling as Elizabeth fervently hoped it would land upright.
The car was not in good shape to begin with and the impact was enough to slightly release the trunk latch. But it was enough. Air quickly escaped from the trunk and the car settled - though fell would be a more accurate description - onto the bottom upright.
Water was streaming in much faster now and the water was up to the level of the seat, starting to soak Elizabeth's skirt. The water felt quite cool, she thought. In another second or two, the water was up to her waist and Elizabeth felt an odd sensation. The water continued filling the vehicle and quickly reached chest level. Her soaked sweater was now very clingy and felt unusual against her skin. Eventually, the water was up to her neck and still rising. Elizabeth took some deep breaths, just before the water went over her head.
Figuring that the pressure was equalized, Elizabeth thought that all she had to do was unfasten the seat belt, open the door, and swim for the surface. Fairly straightforward. She reached to push down on the seat belt release. The button didn't work. Evidently, the springs inside broke. Now, Elizabeth was starting to get extremely concerned.
She then reached for the door handle and pulled. Unfortunately, the impact with the bottom bent the frame slightly, just enough to jam the door. Now, Elizabeth's concern rose to near-panic. "If only I had my shoes..." she thought, "I could kick out a window or the windshield...". But her shoes were on dry land and were of no use to her. She was trying to fight off panic which would use up her air faster. As Elizabeth was contemplating the possibility that she could start to drown in the next minute or so, she noticed a shadow appear on the bottom - a moving shadow.
Elizabeth wondered if it was a hallucination from a brain deprived of oxygen, but it was real. In a few seconds, she saw the cause of the shadow. It was a safety diver. Elizabeth went from contemplating her death to hope that she might be rescued before her air ran out.
The diver tapped on the driver side window to get Elizabeth's attention, then he gestured that she should cover her face since he was going to smash the window. She did and the diver gave a few hits with the butt of his diving knife. After a couple of blows, the window shattered into thousands of little chunks which sank to the bottom and inside the car.
Next, the diver removed the regulator from his mouth. Elizabeth then exhaled the stale air from her lungs and took a breath from the regulator. The diver then took back the regulator and began to figure out how to rescue Elizabeth.
The rescue diver reached in and push the seat belt release button. He too found out that it didn't work. However, the diver had another plan. He got out his knife and cut off the shoulder belt. Reaching down to cut the lap belt, his knife slipped out of his hand and fell under the seat. With his tank, the diver was limited in how far into the car he could reach. Unfortunately, he couldn't reach in far enough to retrieve the knife.
After giving Elizabeth another breath from the regulator, the diver tried something else. Grabbing the buckle of the lap belt, he tried to increase the slack in the belt, hoping to get enought for Elizabeth to wriggle free. The plan worked - sort of. There was more slack, but not quite enough.
Fortunately, there was another flash of inspiration. He motioned for Elizabeth to unfasten her skirt. At first, she was puzzled. But then, she saw what he was trying to do. Elizabeth undid the button and zipper, then slid out of her skirt to escape the car. As soon as Elizabeth was clear, the diver reached in and retrieved the skirt, figuring Elizabeth might need it when she got to the surface.
The diver was amazed at the sight. Elizabeth's sweater rode up to expose her midriff and her dark red panties looked just like a bikini bottom. Much to the diver's surprise, Elizabeth didn't bolt for the surface immediately, but swam slowly. This made perfect sense since Elizabeth did take a few breaths from the regulator. But how did she know to do that? The diver then followed Elizabeth.
After a stop halfway up, the pair reached the surface. Elizabeth was shaking like a leaf. The diver knew it wasn't from cold, but from the fear and panic she suppressed while she was submerged. "You handled yourself well down there." the diver complimented.
"Certified diver..." gasped Elizabeth.
"That's what I thought." replied the diver. "Most people in that situation would have panicked and used up their air or would have bolted for the surface when I got them out. You did great."
At the surface, Elizabeth was even more impressive. Her sweater was almost up to her chest. The view was amazing.
"Here," said the diver, "I think you might need this." He handed Elizabeth her skirt. You're probably showing off more than you want."
Elizabeth grabbed the skirt and replied "True. I don't mind you getting an eyeful, though. You earned it. But I don't want to give the guys on shore a free show."
After putting on her skirt, Elizabeth started to swim to the shore. She was doing a good job, though her skirt was slowing her down a little. The diver swam right beside her in case she needed help.
In a few minutes, Elizabeth waded ashore. Her sweater clung very tightly, leaving nothing of her contours to the imagination. Her skirt was clingy too and rode up to mini-skirt level. Once ashore, a man came running up with a towel that Elizabeth wrapped herself in.
"Thank goodness you're okay!" exclaimed the director.
"And lucky for you." exclaimed the diver. "She could have gotten killed down there due to your negligence in checking out the equipment. Fortunately, she was a certified diver. If it was Lara Spencer or Claire Shipman, I might have been retrieving a body."
"But... we had to do the segment!" stammered the director.
"Was that worth it?" asked the diver. "I think you should at least apologize to Elizabeth for what happened."
Just then, the director's cell phone chirped. It was his superior and he had found out about what happened and how Elizabeth could have been killed. Angry words could be heard and all the director could do was stammer an apology. Then, the excutive hung and the director put away the cell phone, shaking almost as badly as Elizabeth had when she surfaced.
The diver walked to over to the catering truck to get some coffee while the director walked over to where Elizabeth was sitting, still wrapped in the towel. She had calmed considerably, but was still a bit shaken.
"Elizabeth," the director spoke, "I am terribly sorry about what happened today. Is there anything I can do to make up for it?"
Elizabeth thought for a second and replied "Well, I think my sweater is ruined, and I'm pretty sure that my skirt is, so I would want you to at least reimburse me for the damage."
At that moment, the diver arrived with two cups of coffee. Handing one to Elizabeth, he turned to the director and added "You might also want to consider giving Elizabeth or the next person who is unfortunate enough to get involved in one of your stunt segments some safety equipment so they can save themselves. As I said before, it was lucky I was already in the water and also that Elizabeth knew enough not to panic."
"Okay," replied the director. "I'll keep that in mind if I still have my job. The big boss was very furious with me. If I am still employed tomorrow, it will be a miracle." The director then walked off.
Taking a few sips of her coffee, Elizabeth set the cup down and turned to the diver. "I really want to thank you for saving my life today."
"I was happy to be able to do it. Of course, you helped a bit too."
"Just the same, thanks."
Elizabeth stood up, removed her towel, and put her arms around the diver. The diver understood and did likewise. Elizabeth felt incredible, he thought. He could feel her back quite well through the tight sweater and, even though he was still wearing his wetsuit, Elizabeth's legs felt wonderful against his.
Elizabeth was enjoying things too. She could feel how strong and muscular the diver felt. Quite fitting, she thought, for a man who rescued her from certain death. If she was still single, Elizabeth thought (this story is set in the summer of 2002, shortly after Elizabeth Vargas' got married) that he would be great to go out with - and maybe more.
Then, Elizabeth kissed the diver. Being no fool, he reciprocated and held Elizabeth closer. A few seconds later, they separated. Elizabeth then wrapped herself in the towel again. "Even though I'm married, that was fun."
"Well as long as we didn't go any further than that, no harm done." the diver replied. "Your husband is a lucky man and should be proud of you."
After Elizabeth and the diver were talking for a while, a man showed up. It was Elizabeth's husband. "Thank goodness you're okay! I came as soon as they called and told me what happened."
Elizabeth introduced the diver to her husband and explained "If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have made it at all."
Elizabeth's husband gave the diver a hearty handshake and said "Thank you! I can't possibly repay you for what you did here today."
"Helping save a lovely woman like your wife is reward enough. Besides, she deserves some of the credit herself. She's a very brave woman, the way she kept herself from panicking. And her diving knowledge helped when we swam to the surface."
As Elizabeth walked over and retrieved her shoes, the diver talked privately with Elizabeth's husband. "She's a good diver, but I am afraid that her experience today might traumatize her and make her fearful of the water."
"Hadn't thought about that. What can I do to help?"
"Do you have a pool or access to one?"
"Yes."
"Good. I think you and Elizabeth ought to do some swimming in the next few days. Being in the water with you might be just the thing to keep her from being scared."
"I see your point."
"One more thing..."
"Yes?" asked Elizabeth's husband.
"Take good care of her."
Elizabeth returned and told her husband that she was told to take the rest of the week off to recover and that she could keep the towel. Then, Elizabeth and her husband got into the car and drove home.
After they got home, Elizabeth showered and changed into dry clothes, hanging her sweater and skirt to dry. Then she spent a quiet afternoon and evening at home with her husband.
As Elizabeth was sleeping, she was pondering the feelings engendered by the day's events. Instead of being fearful as she thought she would be, she kept thinking back to the diver and how he helped her. Too bad they couldn't have gone further, she thought.
The next day, Elizabeth's husband said "Let's see how your sweater and skirt made out." A quick examination showed that the sweater shrank slightly, but the skirt was a goner. It was discolored in a few spots and the texture was different.
While she was looking over the ruined clothes, her husband suggested "I have an idea. Put them on! I have a bit of a surprise for you."
"But, they're ruined. Why would you be so interested?" Elizabeth asked. When her husband didn't answer, Elizabeth decided to put the stuff on anyway.
"Even though the clothes are ruined, you still look great in them. Now, come with me..." her husband instructed.
A short walk took the two out to their swimming pool. Elizabeth had a sort of an idea as to what was going to happen next. "But I think you will look even better in here..." With that, he grabbed Elizabeth's arm. "We jump in on three. Don't worry, I'll be with you. Now, 1... 2... 3!"
The couple jumped and landed in the water. The now familiar sensation of being soaked returned. This time, she was in no jeopardy and her husband was with her.
Surfacing, Elizabeth said "Thanks. This is fun!" Elizabeth looked spectacular. Her sweater floated above her midriff and her skirt rode up even higher than it did when she was in the lake - to near micro-mini level.
Her husband said "I know." and he drew Elizabeth closer in an embrace. Soon, the two were frolicking underwater. A few minutes later, Elizabeth slid off her sweater and skirt, leaving her in her opaque bra and panties.
"Amazing how much this looks like swimwear. Besides, the clothes were weighing me down." Elizabeth explained. Her husband took the hint and stripped down to his boxers. The couple continued their aquatic games for a while longer, then recovered their clothing and left the pool.
Getting back into the house, Elizabeth mentioned "We have to rinse off the chlorine, you know..." Needing no further encouragement, the twosome then headed for the shower and took a rather long and enjoyable one.
And they had fun after the shower too.

Jane Robelot, a TV crew, and a guide were touring a soon-to-be-opened aquarium facility (similar to Sea World). They were walking by one of the large windows that permitted underwater viewing in the main performing animal tank. Glancing at the reflection in the plexiglass, Jane could see that the employee, the guide, was obviously smitten with her. She wondered what about her impressed that handsome young man (he was wearing a white polo shirt with the facility's logo, red shorts, and sneakers). Was it her lovely legs, trim figure, nice short blonde hair, or her blue eyes. Well, it was hard to tell since Jane was wearing an outfit that showcased all the above - a blue above-the-knee skirt, a white blouse, blue jacket, and matching pumps.
Jane asked "Why is this tank so large? You said earlier that the only performing animals you were going to have were dolphins. This is big enough for a killer whale."
"Simple explanation." he replied. "Originally, we were supposed to have a killer whale. But that 'Free Willy' movie came out, made killer whales practically unobtainable, and that idea was nixed. However, it was too late to change the specs on the tank, so we went with the original design. It should work out. Those warm-water Caribbean dolphins we're getting should like all the room, and so should the trainers."
"When are the dolphins arriving?" Jane asked.
"Next Tuesday." the guide answered.
The interview continued and every time Jane asked about where some feature was, the guide would always reply: "It's coming in next Tuesday." The interview concluded, the TV crew packed up their gear and left, presumably to spend the rest of the afternoon watching sports at the hotel bar. The guide announced he had some business to attend to, but that Jane was free to take a look around.
After the guide left, Jane noticed the tall platform and ladder that the trainers would use to hold up fish to get the dolphins to jump high out of the water. The view from that platform must be awesome, Jane figured. With that, she walked over and climbed the ladder.
Soon, she was at the platform, about 15 feet above the water. Just as Jane thought, the view was great and there was a nice cooling breeze blowing, which was great on a hot summer day like this. It was almost perfect...
Then, she heard a creak. Before she could figure out what it was, some bolts snapped and the platform fell off and into the tank. Jane reacted quickly and managed to grab the railing. Still, this left her in a precarious position dangling above the water. As if to underscore her predicament, one of her shoes got loose and had fallen off. Jane watched as it fell, hit the water, and sank. Figuring one shoe was useless, she kicked off the other one.
At the moment, Jane tried the obvious option: She screamed for help. However, her voice didn't carry and help was not coming. After a few minutes, Jane's arms were starting to hurt. She figured there was only one way she would get down. She just hoped the tank was deep enough. She then let go...
Splash!
Jane hit the water feet-first and very fast. The force of her descent pushed her skirt up to her hips, completely revealing her lovely legs, shoved her blouse up to her armpits, and pulled her jacket up over her raised arms and off of her completely. As soon as her downward motion stopped, Jane headed for the surface.
At the surface, Jane caught her breath and sized up the situation. Her jacket and shoes were on the bottom. Her skirt was at the top of her thighs and her blouse was gently bobbing as she tread water. But, she reasoned, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The tank could have been empty or it could have been a killer whale tank with much colder water. The water here was nice and the perfect temperature for swimming. Jane admitted to herself that the plunge was refreshing, but she also noticed she had other pleasant feelings and she wasn't sure why. She had gone swimming on many occasions, but never quite felt like this. Perhaps it was the fact that she had this huge tank to herself. Or was it the fact that she was swimming around in an outfit designed for business, not swimming. Jane then decided to see if she could retrieve her shoes and jacket.
Taking a deep breath, Jane dove beneath the surface and descended toward the bottom. However, a few feet short of her goal, her head started hurting from the pressure and she returned to the surface. As she was diving, she noticed the windows that she looked into the tank from earlier. She wondered how they look from underwater. Jane took another breath and dove down to see. As she was down there, she even did a little improvised underwater ballet which had her hair, blouse, and skirt, swirling around. Jane then returned to the surface and just decided to relax and float on her back. She was quite surprised at how translucent her white blouse became and how obvious her bra was. "At least I was wearing it..." she thought.
As Jane was floating around, enjoying her discovery of the concept of clothed swimming, her thoughts were disrupted by a loud "Aha! Couldn't resist, could you?" It was the guide.
As soon as she got over being startled, Jane explained what had happened with the platform and that her swimming around was just making the most of current circumstances. After all, she couldn't get any wetter.
"That is serious." the guide said "If it broke under your weight, any of the trainers would have snapped it instantly. We'll have the whole place inspected. If word of this got out, it could jeopardize opening day. What can we do to keep this quiet?"
Jane thought and realized he had the upper hand. If she didn't agree, he might find some security tape of her and her underwater antics, release it, and ruin her journalistic credibility. But she might get a few favors in return for her silence. "Okay, I have a few conditions. One, I would like to get my jacket and shoes back. They're on the bottom. And finally, I'd like to stay in here and paddle around for a while longer. Deal?"
The guide answered "You got it! Now about that jacket and shoes..." He then dove into the tank, quickly swam to the bottom, retrieved the items, but took his time heading to the surface. Evidently, he was admiring the way Jane and her wardrobe looked underwater. And Jane noticed.
Coming to the surface, the guide said "I'll leave your shoes on the deck and I can throw this jacket in the dryer and have it nice and dry by the time you're done. In fact, if you want, you can give me your blouse and skirt too and I can have all of your suit dry."
Jane considered it. True, her blouse concealed nothing and a bit of her panties could be glimpsed from time to time as she swam around, and her undergarments probably were no more revealing than most of her swimsuits at home, she didn't feel right. It would be too much temptation for this guy. She didn't mind him admiring her, but if he took it any further, there would be trouble. Jane answered "No thanks, just the jacket."
"Would you want a swimming partner?"
Jane replied "No thanks. Look, I know how you feel. But, I already have a boyfriend. You're nice and if circumstances were different, I would be happy to swim with you. But not now. Thanks anyway."
The guide left Jane's shoes on the deck, and went to the locker room to take care of Jane's jacket. Jane continued to play for a while and then got out.
As she got to the locker room, she saw the guide was true to his word and the jacket was dry. She then stepped into the shower to rinse off her other clothes, got out, changed into a bathrobe, and put her clothes in the dryer. A while later, Jane changed into her dry clothes (which suffered no visible damage from the swim), put on her shoes and left.
Driving back, Jane recalled how fun her clothed swim turned out to be and wondered what it would be like doing it with her boyfriend. "It would be great!" Jane thought.
